I was at bass day 09 when this was filmed. Really enjoyed Sekou's clinic and getting to jam with him/learn from him.

@tikidung dude... he's just jamming.. play from your heart AND your head.. move your fingers in unusual patterns.. play in every way possible. why care about scales and all that crap? play what sounds good to YOU.

but he obviously knows what he's doing. whatever he's playing still has some weird scale stuff behind it

@tikidung Yes, he knows, but he is letting his mind wander via his fingers. It's like if someone told you to just start talking about anything.. you could do it and sound great, cause you've been doing it for many years. He is jamming from years of playing all kinds of things so that he is not thinking about it. Personally I would advise you to start learning songs by ear.. and maybe also get some info on scales. If you want.. get some basic lessons that show you the why.

@bultaco111 well i do learn songs by ear and reading music is part of my school stuff. i just cant figure out how to piece crap together.

wow what a great person just saw him today at Carvin in Hollywood, his technique and tone are top notch. I am proud to say I'm a believer in Carvin and their products

the only thing that wasn't all that great is the guy NEXT TO ME won a Carvin NB615 combo- aw well Sekou's insight was more than i could ask for

@PhuckHue2 He pulled the treble sweep knob out and that's makes the bass switch to passive. Push knob back in and 18 volts goes back to pre-amp.
