Baby Reading A Book

GREAT upload. I passed the link on two two friends, one of whom is a Literacy Consultant and one of whom is a chief librarian. Both give regular talks to parents about the advantages and advisability of introducing young children to books at as early an age as possible. Both are now using your video in their talks. I also uploaded a few uploads of my own featuring our very young grandaughter. They are also using these. It's great to see young children so keen to read.

Can't believe you've had so many silly comments - your daughter is intelligently responding to the obvious fact that YOU have been reading aloud to her. She is doing what you do, but in her own pre-linguistic way. Our nine month-old grandaughter is starting down the same road. She holds books and burbles and squeaks and semi 'sings' as she turns the pages - sometimes rubbing her hand along the shapes that she will eventually come to know as words. This is an excellent video. Thanks.

@AlanSturgess Thank you for your nice comment! She is now 6 years old and still loves books as much as she did as a toddler! She's an excellent reader, now in 1st grade! It's amazing how quickly they grow, and how much they learn at such a young age!

Ha ha. No, she was only 15 months old in this video. She has always been a very "talkative" baby, even though she hasn't learned how to say words yet. She is almost 2 years old now, so we are able to understand a lot more of what she is saying!
