  • total genius, if you see the whole film, you would be impressed not only at his comedic ability, but in many cases physical dexterity, check out Jerry Lewis gets mad for real. After the silly gun routine, you will notice, he curses, then says, grabbed it. This was not his intention, his was to drop and do fumbling routine. Check it out. He is really hot in that one. Completely natural, and sexy - more cool that Dean, cause more humble in his sexual appeal

  • this is my FAVORITE version of the Count Basie tune but i cant find it anywhere =( anyone willing to help me out here?

  • Haha! I love it how he just gets up and walks away like nothing happened! Haha!

  • Him is a bery very good comediant

  • I will always say that physical comedy will always, always ALWAYS trump regular comedy in that it will be funny eons from now while regular comedy is linked to what is going on at the time. Take a look at Simpsons 20 years ago and see if you get all the references.

  • single gayest thing ive ever seen

  • @quentinqbc ......I have no words

  • Fuck Family Guy.

  • This scene was hilarious when it was first done in 1961

Watching this again in 2011, it is still funny.

Yet watching an animated version of this, remade note by note, falls flat...

Maybe because it didn't add anything?

Like most of Family Guy's humor, it depends on merely repeating, referencing, or re-doing what everyone else already has...

It's Comedy patting ITSELF on the back...

  • @SadakoMoose bravo----well said

  • I do this whenever i'm alone in my sixth form centre

  • 28 people should be in the Guinness world record book for having the worst sense of humor out of all of the other people in the world!

  • @OWTR895 if theres 28 people its not really a guinness record

  • @greenpredetor i don't understand what your trying to say...i was joking around anyway why even bother say something stupid like that?

  • @OWTR895 hmm...ok um it aint a record if theres 28 other people same level , someone has to break the record in other word only one may prevail

  • @greenpredetor wow does this really matter that much that you actually had to keep rambling on with your nonsense? lol

  • I love this without audio!

    I love this without video!

I love this the way it is!

  • he was the best t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • jerry lewis movies were always good

  • Lady!

  • this scene is such a classic!!!!

  • He must be smoking some good shit in that "cigar."

  • jerry lewis is a comic genius...well hes just a genius in general :)

  • The fact is, I would never have seen this if not for Seth McFarlane. That's not a bad thing. Why would it be? Family Guy educates me on pop culture I never knew about. He respects pop culture and gives it a comedic spin that will entertain a new audience. These aren't the 60's anymore. Comedy is different. You need to accept that, all those who can't seem to get out of the era they grew up in. Hell, even Friends and Frasier are losing their comedic value.

  • Perfect. Jerry Lewis is great.

  • I think you have to be French to "get this."

  • what song is this?

  • @littledrummerboy37 I'd imagine it was written for the film

  • @littledrummerboy37 Nope, I'm wrong. Blues In Hoss' Flat by Count Basie. I'm not sure about the introduction to the song though, that's the part I like best.

  • LOL.

    I love this.

Looks like he went on a temporary high or something, haha.

I wanna be happy like him! Haha.

And thanks for all you do with MDA, Jerry! I enjoy summer camp! ^-^

  • Can you imagine the residuals Jerry Lewis received by giving the rights to Fox

  • Jerry Lewis is a comedic God XD

  • Omg jerry lewis never gets old... I can watch this all day and I won't get bored with this... hahaha!!!

  • Ballz-out rendition of "Blues In Hoss' Flat," plus Jerry Lewis doing a brilliant pantomime. What more could a person ask for?? Watch it again and again for continued enlightenment. :) :)

  • This is "Blues in Hoss Flat" by the Count Basie Orchestra...

  • What´s the name of the song???

  • عشنا مع JERRY LEWIS في الستينيات من القرن الماضي أياما لن ننساها أبدا !!!!!!!

  • Bill Burr is the man....Jerry Lewis is definitely a comedic genius.

  • thumbs up if you have to do this for theatre tomorrow. i'm nervous! :(

  • if it wasnt for family guy i would never have known this existed. Fuck you to the people who cant take a joke.

  • Unfotunatley to me it was mostly awkward.

Especiallly when he (emphasis) TRIES to sing the blues note at the end,, UGH!

I guess there werent enough comedians back then to censor that trash

  • The more I watch this, the better it gets! Jerry you are the legend!

  • you you you you me whatever we wanna be

  • Holy shit that was awesome.

  • Bill Burr Monday Morning Podcast.

PS if you think it gets slow, wait until 1:59 . If that doesn't have you laughing, you probably like Hacks.

  • "Blues in Hoss' Flat" performed by Count Basie Orchestra, COMPOSED AND ARRANGED BY FRANK FOSTER, R.I.P.!

  • the godfather

  • THEY COOKED THE SHIT OUTTA OF IT!

  • Laaaaaady!!!!

  • Billyyyyyyy Burrrrrr!!! I love this scene now

  • What the fuck Bill? I was expecting something hilarious. It was entertaining at best.

  • Bill's right, hilarious indeed... impeccable timing too.

    Thanks mr. Burr =)

  • Bill, you owe me 2:29. This was hilarious 50 years ago. In 2011 it's just dated humor. No studio would release something like this today.

  • BILL BURR IN THE HIZEEEEE!!!!!

  • I'm way too young to appreciate this.

  • Just listened to bill burr recommend this. Just great!

  • Sorry Bill.

  • Just got off bill burr's podcast. Hilarious!!

  • Bill Motherfuckin Burrrrrrrrrr

  • Thumbs up if you came here straight from Bill Burr's MMPC

  • the music is so great, i love jerrys performance

  • Definitely a genius!

  • Does anyone know what the song is called?

  • @MazzazzK It is called "Blues in Hoss Flat"

  • That's what I've always thought, fuck it, believe it or not, Family Guy has made me smarter in terms of popular culture, especially with American Pop Culture. I would most likely have never seen this t'were it not for Sir McFarlane.

  • Genius defined.

  • God. As simples as that.

  • Only seen this because if family guy sry peter was way funnier doin it ;)~

  • ROFL. I love how that "Papataka" idiot thinks this was copied from Family Guy. This Jerry Lewis movie was made in 1961 ... before Seth McFarlane was even born!

  • Anyone know the lyrics? Or is it Jerry's intent not to let us figure it out. I've watched this movie since I was a kid and the only words I recognize is "you and you and me". Thanx!

  • Not only a great entertainer but also his musicality was suberb. May he recover fully and never retire.

  • I just heard that he was rushed in to a hospital i love him god bless you Jerry Lewis hope you get well ! <3

  • I would not have had the chance to witness this original brilliance if I hadn't seen the Family Guy version..

  • Great stuff! Love it – the fantasy CEO.

  • Copied this from family guy

  • @papataka You're Retarded.

  • whats he saying?

  • LOVE IT!!!

  • Como pode ter gente que não gosta?

  • hah definitely seems like hes stoned as shit

  • It looks like he's saying "Family Guy" at 0:52...spooky o.O

  • I wish I knew what he was saying...

  • Well, now we know where Jim Carey got some of his style...

  • how does the guy not know that hes actually smoking a fatty and not a cigar?

  • Seen Perter doing this on Family Guy.

I didn't know WTF it was from.

I guess it was well ahead of my time. lol

  • Thanks for sharing Seths

  • Thanks for sharing Seth!!

  • Seth MacFarlane probably got bored and stumbled across this video one day.

  • @maxpowers518 or he's a jerry lewis fan like the rest of us you retard

  • The guy's a genius. Just like Seth McFarlane. Got to have love for them

  • @beau25byah

    Blues in Hoss Flat

  • At least he got a nice cigar out of it...

  • im trying to figure out what the hell he is saying

  • @gsvideos1 I don't think he's saying anything other than when he points around the table and says "you and you and you and me".

  • This is just one glimpse into this man's comedy talent. Jerry had charisma and timing and wit, among other things. He was innovative, too, sometimes. I dig his movies, especially "The Bellboy", "The Errand Boy", "The Patsy", "The Nutty Professor", "The Ladies Man", and "The Disorderly Orderly". He's in the comedy pantheon with other gems like Peter Sellers, Lucille Ball, The Marx Brothers, Carol Burnett, Martin Short, Don Knotts, Laurel & Hardy, Danny Kaye, Tracey Ullman, and Steve Martin.

  • LOL

He wants to be boss =)

  • Criticize him all U want but Jerry Lewis is truly a great creative comic genius.☺

  • Thx to family guy I know this exists now.

  • THE King of Comedy !!!!!

  • Love all the douche bags in the comments who think they're better than everyone else because they saw this first! Lighten up and watch the damn video!!

  • my goal in life to become CEO of a major cooperation just so I can do this with the music playing in the background

  • I agree, It was homage and entertaining as the original. Loved them both!

  • Seth McFarlane did the scene with peter as an homage. Younger kids aren't getting exposed to this kind of stuff so how are they supposed to see it. If Family Guy brings traffic to this video to see this amazing movie scene then we should be thanking Mr. McFarlane, not dismissing him.

  • @Defseduction Agreed.

  • @Defseduction i came here without ever being referred by that mcfarlane hack. thanks.

  • Comment removed

  • @Defseduction I have great respect for Seth. He is a good human being.

  • @Defseduction im a kid and i used to watch jerry lewis all the time.....he is a real O.G

  • @Defseduction Because, when you see brilliance mixed in with shit, you can't help but get annoyed. I'll thank Seth McFarlane when he stops making multiple TV shows based on rewashed humor. And that's the difference, Jerry Lewis was original, Seth McFarlane had to rip this off as an "homage" in order to make his show funny. Kids don't know the reference, as you said, and 99% of them won't look it up, so if there's no "inside joke," it seems to me like McFarlane's just looking for filler, now.

  • legend.

  • I can't stop laughing!!! Jerry Lewis I love you! You keep me healthy!

  • most of family guy's laughs are from other movies or shows

    pisses me off

  • the master

  • @skrattkantarellen Too funny! Your comment sounds like something I'd say! :)

  • Jerry Lewis is 85 TODAY ! Happy birthday dear Jerry !! :---)

  • Am I the only one who finds it impressive he can perfectly imitate the sound of a full jazz band with just his mouth??

  • I would definitely do something like that in an empty office!! Oh wait, I have!

  • errm, why can't I do things like that?

  • I wish we knew what he was saying =p

  • The only thing I ever liked about my sixth grade teacher is that he would let us watch Jerry Lewis movies.

  • He was a comedy genius!

  • Thumbs up if this would be an epic song if he was singing out loud.

  • I saw this when I was thirteen... LONG BEFORE I even knew about Family Guy. Jerry Lewis, Abbott and Costello, The Three Stooges, and, of course, Bob Hope and Bing Crosby were the KINGS of Comedy! Those guys ROCK!! XD

  • i'm 13....... when this movie waqs shown my dad was only 11........ now he is 60 and we watch it together all the time!!

  • @marcbenjamsojayco WOW! My dad's gonna be 61 in May. I was introduced to the errand boy when I was your age. I'm gonna be 19 in a few months, so I know whatcha mean.

  • @SonictheBlueStreak WOW.... now i realize how old my dad is...... i'm 13 and my dad is 61....... hahahahahahahahaha....... :)

  • i loveee this!

  • @ruo58742 I agree, pantomime is ridiculously easy to do. Especially when you are doing a movie, because of multiple takes. Doing it on the fly is the hard part.

  • @ruo58742 why?

  • This is pure genius. Loved every single second of it. Definitely going to watch this movie now!

  • I'd marry Jerry Lewis. No homo.

  • natural brilliant genius comedy
