  • I'm watching the Lennon covers uploaded 2 utube.

Hes 1 of my faves...not bad.

  • the same intention than me man. I love this song, I love bealtes. Love Lennon. I tried this song, that is not easy. But I fell confortable with my version considering that I've never sing and there're one year that i am playing the guitar. See my video responde.

  • my name is julia. [:

  • awesome dude!

  • Don't take any notice of any of the above negative comments. I am Julia and I think you did a damn good try on this one.x.

  • nice voice. not in the part when says: her hair is.....

the rithm doesnt sounds good, see my cover.

    bye

  • You did a good job performing this song in 12/8 time!

  • ur kinda off

  • Your rhythm is off. Your voice is nice. You need to count. Watch the video on how to play the song.

  • its suposed to be 4/4 not 3/4 thast why your singing is way off

get a metronome and try againg, not bad though

  • It sounds like you are doing it in a waltz timimg.

Iam very puzzled as to why your doing it this way.

Your better than me anyway. well done.

  • I like it. Imagine two slides that overlap to make a cartoon. Then imagine them askew, the characters standing where they shouldn't be. Not exactly bad, but interesting.

I like it when people take covers and make it their own. :)

  • You got the feel of it, but why did you make it harder on yourself trying that "alternative" picking and changing the original rythm ? It makes it much harder to sing too. Try the original ! If you google it (just put Julia -beatles -guitar tab) you´ll enjoy it much more. Keep working man !

  • You were brave to take this one on- one of John's greatest. It was great because he had a very haunting, sad quality to his voice. It was gentle but full of loss. I always felt that even if you didn't know the story of his mother, if you heard the song, you knew it was about a dead girl. Good luck.

  • well done done but the fingerpicking is wrong

  • some problem of rythm

such a beautiful song, that was a risk to cover it..

not very bad, but not great at all..

  • I welcome all comments, thanks.

I'm aware that it needs more work and then I'll record it again. Nobody out there has ever covered it on youtube, so it shows it's not an easy song.

  • Overall good effort! Sort of a tough song, vocally.

  • The wistful nature of the song and your camera shot go quite well, I think. Is that a view of London from your window? The rhythm you use for your version is not what I'm used to, but it works alright. I think at some points in the original song, John sort of inflects his voice certain times when he says "Julia," characterized by a higher pitch on the "a." Not a bad effort, but I think your voice may be too deep for certain parts of the song.

  • Thanks for your comment, I really have to improve on the singing part for this one.

Yes, this is what I see of London from my window: a crossroad with left driving and double-decker red buses! :)

I think this shot fits quite well for this melancholic song too, but people won't see the chords. I'll try to find a way to show both on my next take.
