Interesting but I just cannot deal with all that religion crap, seriously. It just pisses me off to see people just keep going on and on with that religious garbage of good vs evil as an explanation for why we suck so much as human beings. People do evil things, not demons or bad forces; PEOPLE - they do it for greed, out of selfishness, ignorance, shortsightedness, to contro,, for pwoer and because such is human kind. We were never meant to be at peace. We dont function like that.
As a hardcore atheist, I agree with everything you're saying, but what is the relevance exactly? This is an amazing portrayal of a deeply religious man (Who is also the villain in the series by the way, that's kind of the point.) delivering a powerful speech in a wonderfully written show.
This isn't real life, this isn't a real preacher or his beliefs. It's just a performance.

Clancy Brown deserves to be in a big role which would put him in the limelight.Even though he's been in the industry for more than 20 years,he still vastly underrated.
My faith in tv was renewed for a while after coming across this amazing show a few years back. Then it was cancelled after 2 bloody series. Screw you HBO for getting rid of the best thing you've ever churned out.
I agree with you wholeheartedly. This has to rank as one of my favorite series. It's too bad so many people were to interested in watching other mindless entertainment at the time. Perhaps it might have provided them some insight as to what is going on around us to this day. I enjoyed so much - I purchased the DVD.
