Hi let me start by saying i liked the video. I plan on loc'ing my hair next month, i too have permed hair my last perm was in june. Did u start ya own locs out or did u go to a salon?? Exactly whats the process when loc'ing permed hair?
@LovelyLadyNae630 I started my locs out myself because i wanted to embrace the whole process and show people that they don't have to go to the salon. I started my locs doing the two strand twist method. I parted my hair into little square sections of hair and i twisted the two strands together. I waited two weeks before i washed it and retwisted my roots. I'll be sure to explain more in my next video for you.
Did you retain the permed hair because you were afraid of not having length? If so, another option would have been to cut out your perm and add faux loc extensions until you get your desired length over time.
@Ameenah79 you are definately right that is a great idea and option. I wanted to do everything as natural as I could though and I wasn't really sure how to put the faux locs in and i wasn't willing to go to the salon. but yes i was afraid of not having the length i just couldn't bring myself to cutting any of my hair off.
