You are describing the "Coanda Effect" , which probably plays a role in the design especially at slow speeds. However, Schauberger attributed the "levity" to being mainly caused by what he called bio-magnetism.

It rose through the center of the axial vortex  in opposition to the imploding air and gave the disc tremendous lift.

It may have created a powerful EM potential which could be attenuated in relationship to any gravitational body, so as to repluse itself with enormous velocity.

From my understanding, the air that flows inside the disc is pushed out because of the centrifugal forces. This "pushing" of the air outside of the disc is causing an air movement and thus generates a suction in the middle. To say that this is an implosion or explosion device only depends on the preponderance of the moment IMO.
