@xxJulieKittenxx the 13 day rule was the fake one that Light used to prove his and Misa's innocence as she was detained for 23 and him for 18. the fake 13day rule is if you dont continue to use the death note after 13 days you will die.

23 days the maximum days you can manipulate someone after writing their names in the deathnote, in the 2nd livemovie L wrote his name in the deathnote stating that he will die peacefully 23days later.

This is different from the anime where he is killed by Rem
