u didnt expect it to eat the tetras? i bought 15 rosy red minnows that were around 2 inches each and he ate at least half of them in 15 minutes :)

I got a question, i got 2 map tutles and each time i each my hand in the water, most fish and the turtles go for my hands, thinking its food. they just all started doing that. Does that mean im under feeding them? i feed them everyday, and theres plenty of fish in there, the turtles just dont go for them. and nice video man

Well if u espetially have map turtles they are teratorial. Basicly if u stick ur finger in there they are basicly saying get away from my food. Idk wat to say about the fish.

no no i have two map turtles there just really really really gready i made the mestake of giving them more food because i thort i was underfeeding and then they ate untill they was sick and then carryed on eating dont worrie about it

Man! This makes me miss my little Mississippi Map. His name was Scratch because the day I bought him he peed in the paper bag that the fish store put him in and scratched his way out. He only lived for 3 years but he was great. And maps don't get huge. I believe it's the males that stay relatively small (5" or so). 55 gallon long, UVB bulb, heat lamp, and basking platform are MINIMUM requirements.

a lot of baby turtles will only eat meat. but you can entice them eating pellets by soaking them in a fishy smelling substance, like oyster juice, salmon juice etc.. or you can just leave the pellets in the tank eventually they will get hungry enough and eat it

if you get a baby turtle -- they can be kept in a 20 gallon but they do need a lot biigger tank the bigger they grow so its better to get a 55 gallon so then you dont have to upgrade for a long time maybe never

NEVER use cuddle bones its screws up your filter. If the shell is becoming soft that is bad and it shows that its not getting proper lighting. I would suggest you get a 50 - 75w bulb

You can clean the shell with a tooth brush, but please don't use any tooth paste or detergent.

I use only a wet tooth brush to clean the algae off the shell of my turtles. Of course, it takes a longer time if there's a thick layer of algae. So try to clean the shell regularly.

aww they're so cute arent they i had one and a RES, they were about that size when i got them but in about 6 months they were huge pooping machines lol tell ur bros friend to feed him out of the tank as thats when they shit so it will save on cleaning, and dont have gravel, i know it dont look as good but it makes cleaning alot easier and trust me when they get big they need alot of cleaning
