That vengeance battle with Pussycat was probably the only time Razer lost that didn't involve any technical difficulties or controversy, it legitimately knocked it out by chipping the drive-train. Funny considering that I never really considered Pussycat that great of a bot aside from being reliable.

Razor obliterating Matilda was staged, The designers were planning on rebuilding her anyway so hey let Razor destroy her. They even filled her with oil soaked rags beforehand so it would look more dramatic Oo It's why Matilda came back with a much more powerful Fly-Wheel the next time

Imo, Pussycat was quite possibly THE hero of Robot Wars. It came from a team that fought from start to end, who were one step away from the title twice. It's almost never lost without putting up a great fight, it's overcome great challenges and beaten the likes of Hypno-Disc, Panic Attack, Razer and was one of few that could go toe-to-toe with Chaos 2 in its prime. It won so many battles, the team came through a great tragedy and it finished Robot Wars on a high note. Pussycat, forever a legend.

Don't get me wrong, Razer is a mighty machine. It's just surprising how it's lost to Pussycat (a robot with a ridiculous design that I think is just too weird) so easily.

I used to like Razer myself, and thought he was indestructible, could not be bested. Not until I saw these videos of this robot I once thought was the greatest, just get owned easily. Which is why I turn my thoughts now and say that sometimes the best themselves get bested, and Razer still has a good record it seems in comparison.

If you look closely at 0.37 you can see that pussycats disk hit razers rear left wheel , which could have been a reason why its drive became screwed up. Just a hunch so i might be wrong.
pussycat rules!!!! so does razor, there both good robots but as others have said razor just lacks reliability (he's still a good robot) and has weak armour (yeh im british!!). i think one of pussycats advatages is they have a good driver (razor is still a good robot) so just expect your faverate robot to lose sometimes.

Imo, Razer has the best weapon of any robot. Unfortunately it has weak armor and seems like one of the most unreliable^^ It's just lucky that Razer usually kills it's opponents before they have a chance to fight back.
@coolcar100 not really, the flame pit like Bash's flamethrower is just for show, the heat it produces has claimed very few victims over the past... mainly just Diotior's fur. Robot wars has very few destructive weapons as part of the arena, unlike say battle bots. This makes things more interesting/fair and while they do less damage, they make for much better viewing then those of again, say battle bots.
pussycat isnt a bad robot its just annoying to get hold of and usually gets through cause no 1 can be bothered with it if i had a flipper against it id have so much fun

Pussycat the worst robot in the show? STFU. Pussycat statsistically was one of the best. It did good damage, it was a unique design and David Gribble was the best driver in the series.
Ian Lewis and his little hissy fit at the end of the first battle is laughable. Talk about a sore loser. I'm glad Simon and Vincent were able to keep an honourable attitude whilst their captain didn't even stay for the post match interview.
It's no surprise that Pussycat kept attacking in the first fight. Razer was only immobile because it got stuck on the arena sidewall, if a house robot has knocked them free the fight was back on again. Pussycat would have regretted not taking the chance to finish them.

the first and 2nd match pussycat won because razers ground clearence causes problems with traction, neither had anything to do with luck. the second match can also be put down to bad driving by razer, before pussycat hit the fatal blow razer had it in its beak and could of just held it there . neither team should be slated, pussycat didnt realise razer was immobile in the 1st match, razer thought they did, misunderstanding, razer congratulated pussycat the 2nd time anyway so it's resolved.
this was awesome, razor ripped everyone elses robots to bits and complained when theres got a bit messy, im sure all the damage costs are covered by the producers of the programme anyway
@eishiba Pussycat blade struck the wheel compartment, causing the front wheels to hang lose. The could spin but can't cary the weight of razer anymore.
The razor team are sore losers. There allowed to rip and destroy other robots but when they get a scratch they say it's unfair. Take some lessons from the Rose family in sportsmanship.

Pussycat is one of the best designed robots ever, not just in RW. I dunno what the Razer team are upset about, they were beaten fair and square both times. Hypnodisc team is much better in this regard, they take defeat like men.
Haha razer really is the best bot when it comes to sheer power to damage, but it lacks in manouverability and has both exposed tires and is crap when it comes to adapt. The era of pure power is over, the era for loopholes and fucked up robots with boring designs has come!
That match with Biohazard and Razer would've actually happened in Battlebots, except that Razer lost to Tazbot by getting flipped on it's side (Razer had the Self-Righting Wings installed by then) and being pushed on to the "Killsaws" on the arena floor, disabling Razer's Self-Righting Wings and that was it. Tazbot won, and moved on to fight Biohazard. As for proof of it? Team Mutant (Tazbot's builders) has a summary and pictures of the fight on their website.
i agree razer has a amazing weapon... HOWEVER i dont think it is the best robot ever! i think firestorm or hypnodisc are the best robots but my favourite robot was and always wil be road block

@ohargreaves if you look at most the times she use's it it does little to none damage where as another house bot like dead metal (usualy cuts into the bodywork pretty good) or shunt (with the axe thats killed alot of bots) matilda looks not to great at all plus razer and other bots have either flippe her or absolutly destroyed her.

I agree there. My personal favourite was Mortis... Partially because it's been around since the first competition... and secondly because it was a good all round robot. Sadly, it never went anywhere.
Razer, at first, is an example of overspecialisation... with additions later on to rectify this.
Overspecialisation? The best robots are the ones that specialise in one weapon or fighting style. Chaos 2 - Flipper, Hypnodisc - flywheel, Razer - crusher, Tornado - pushing power.

If you look closely at 0.37 you can see that pussycats disk hit razers rear left wheel , which could have been a reason why its drive became screwed up. Just a hunch so i might be wrong.

pussycat rules!!!! so does razor, there both good robots but as others have said razor just lacks reliability (he's still a good robot) and has weak armour (yeh im british!!). i think one of pussycats advatages is they have a good driver (razor is still a good robot) so just expect your faverate robot to lose sometimes.

I have a great deal of respect for Razer, don't get me wrong......
However, there are some battles in which teams (and fans) need to simply accept the fact they lost.
You're right, people can't leave it alone. They seem to believe that Razer losing a few matches is a totally preposterous concept.

Imo, Razer has the best weapon of any robot. Unfortunately it has weak armor and seems like one of the most unreliable^^ It's just lucky that Razer usually kills it's opponents before they have a chance to fight back.

@coolcar100 not really, the flame pit like Bash's flamethrower is just for show, the heat it produces has claimed very few victims over the past... mainly just Diotior's fur. Robot wars has very few destructive weapons as part of the arena, unlike say battle bots. This makes things more interesting/fair and while they do less damage, they make for much better viewing then those of again, say battle bots.

Simon was admirable in the post match interview from the first match as he praised Pussycat for its efforts.
Vincent also seemed quite decent.

It's no surprise that Pussycat kept attacking in the first fight. Razer was only immobile because it got stuck on the arena sidewall, if a house robot has knocked them free the fight was back on again. Pussycat would have regretted not taking the chance to finish them.

the first and 2nd match pussycat won because razers ground clearence causes problems with traction, neither had anything to do with luck. the second match can also be put down to bad driving by razer, before pussycat hit the fatal blow razer had it in its beak and could of just held it there . neither team should be slated, pussycat didnt realise razer was immobile in the 1st match, razer thought they did, misunderstanding, razer congratulated pussycat the 2nd time anyway so it's resolved.

Pussycat is one of the best designed robots ever, not just in RW. I dunno what the Razer team are upset about, they were beaten fair and square both times. Hypnodisc team is much better in this regard, they take defeat like men.

That match with Biohazard and Razer would've actually happened in Battlebots, except that Razer lost to Tazbot by getting flipped on it's side (Razer had the Self-Righting Wings installed by then) and being pushed on to the "Killsaws" on the arena floor, disabling Razer's Self-Righting Wings and that was it. Tazbot won, and moved on to fight Biohazard. As for proof of it? Team Mutant (Tazbot's builders) has a summary and pictures of the fight on their website.

@ohargreaves if you look at most the times she use's it it does little to none damage where as another house bot like dead metal (usualy cuts into the bodywork pretty good) or shunt (with the axe thats killed alot of bots) matilda looks not to great at all plus razer and other bots have either flippe her or absolutly destroyed her.

The flywheel that Matilda had in Series 5 onwards caused plenty of damage, and has even been used to throw robots out of the arena.

I agree there. My personal favourite was Mortis... Partially because it's been around since the first competition... and secondly because it was a good all round robot. Sadly, it never went anywhere.
Razer, at first, is an example of overspecialisation... with additions later on to rectify this.

What do you expect the other team to do? "Hey let's help him out. That way, he can kill us, but at least it will be 'fair'!" No! In a match like this, you use all advantages you can. As long as the rules aren't broken, there is no such thing as "cheapness". So do us a favor and SHUT UP, BOTH OF YOU!!!
