depends when you say "basic"... I mean you could write inline assembler from the basic prompt. that was very cool. I remember doing some when I was at college for an electronics thing. Teacher didn't know I was a c64 coder , so I didn't have to learn the syntax as much as others =)
I quite like this game. I had a look at the code and its all in BASIC - not bad - I guess it shows how efficient the BBC Micro is.
At the moment I am spending quite a bit of time writing ARM assembler for embedded systems, I appreciate the design ethic of the BBC Micro and the 6502 CPU that in turn led to the design of the ARM processor by Acorn Computers of Cambridge, sadly no more - but ARM is still going strong!

BBC Basic was the best and fastest Basic for all home micros around that time.

I remember being fascinated by this when playing at a friend's house. It was freaky to be playing in 3 dimensions.
