Does anybody notice in this movie there were no Japanese imports in the race, or hardly at all in any of the scenes? During that time and period, American, British, German, and other imports cars were dominant, unlike today. So... I guess the tip off of the Japanese invasion is near the end of the race when Raul and the crew get roadblocked by a consession of Japanese tourist! The best part, all cars in this movie were 100% real, no fakes...
One of my all time favorite movies. HOWEVER, they conveiniently forget that the Ferrari left the garage in New York 10 seconds AHEAD of the Cobra. Because it's a rally, not "technically" a race, to win, the Ferrari would have to be 10+ seconds ahead at the end. Still, it's a great scene on so many levels.
@snowrocket This is something I've seen in most rally pictures if not all. Probably because in all these films there has to be a race to the finish, often between the hero and the villain. I think in some of these films the time is kept up until the last leg where the best time determines pole position to run the last leg as a track race would be run. At least that's how I make it out. Of course it seems in these films it never really matter who wins, it was just the thrill of the race.
Franco off, and Tim Mcintyre gets pissed. God Dammit, that's a cheap move. Then you hear the Ferrari screaming, and Tim tells Franco, "TAKE HIM", and then you see Raul slam the lever in to 4th, and the needle on the speedo jump from 100 to 120 mph.
This is in my opinion the best car movie ever made. What makes this movie great is that all the cars are real, there are no fakes made out of lesser cars, and that this movie is very interactive. Chuck Bail wanted to make sure you really felt his movie. You hear the engines, see the dials and needles moving within them. You see the pedals being pushed, and the shifters being slammed in to each gear as the actors go up and down the box. My favorite parts of this scene are when Bannon cuts..
I sure wish,"Emergency Plan Alpha", happened to me! good god almighty that chick was soooooooooo hot! she gets any hotter she'll be on fire, and those boobs mmmmmmmmmm delicious, its lunch time!
ALL BREAST NO ASS...UNATTRACTIVE.....NOTHING MORE ATTRACTIVE THAN A SHAPELY TAILFEATHER ON A FEMALE....BREASTS CAN BE INHANCED BUT NOT REAR ENDS.
