  • Nice Pictures...Good you and Don could meet up. I made alot of money of his Tube speakers and even some of the solid state junk too. I mostly enjoyed the photo of that black original Hammond A i presume or maybe a BV or something old like that. Looks like my old AV to me....

  • The only Hammond John ever played before this one is a Monarch solid state He does not even know what a solo stop on this organ is and if you know about the RT3 solo stops they are ok but they are not going to sound very good unless you get a subwoofer and more room than this... already you can hear the leslies 60 miles away in Denver CO John is a purist and choose the stops corectly ballanced to his standard of what you hear in the room and nothing more. The clarity is pure as a f9 tracker

  • As an organist with a foot in both "camps," I thoroughly enjoyed this. However, I'm wondering why you didn't use the Solo Pedal stops at all -- not even for that last big Eb chord!

(And, yes, Don Leslie was first and foremost a pipe organ lover and did devise the Leslie Speaker to make the Hammond sound more pipe-like. I had the privilege of visiting him in his home and playing his theatre organ. See [1377731 "dot" "com" "slash" donleslie])

  • nice to hear Bach on a hammond.. U didnt used the pedal solo stops.... can u demonstrate them plz... Also you are using the bass 16 and 8 on the pedals right.. no couplers?

  • wow! super duper!hope you guys do some more.in the mean time i shall savor this classic hammond stuff.

  • Glad you enjoy...

  • Never thought I'd enjoy

Bach so much played on a Hammond.

  • Will post more videos soon...or not so soon...but will do my best to get more up. However this organ and both leslies sold a month or two ago. I do still have the trek II reverb for my next organ unless someone wants to make me an offer.

  • I really enjoyed this, please make more vids! I hope to play like this on my little Hammond M3, I have the optional external reverb speaker that makes a similar sound as if you were in a large room.

  • the hammond organ is not meant to played like this donald leslie would be turning in his grave to hear this lol good job

  • @lesliekeepsonspinin SO WRONG, the hammond organ was made to emulate the pipe organ.

  • Thiswould thrill Laurens Hammond. I have been playing Bach, Mozart and Handel on Hammond organs in Methodist churches for over 30 years. Thanks for sharing this.

  • Really nice! Laurens Hammond would be proud of you! He hated Jazz and Blues, he wanted only classical music to be played on his organs.

  • Thanks

  • Wonderful; really good job! :)

I always thought that Hammond organs and classical music may join in a beautiful way! ;)

  • Lovely job. You achieve that Bach's music sounds wonderfully in a Hammond. I hope to see more of your videos here, and more Bach.
