This is without a doubt the best documentary on the subject. I lived in Nashville from '86 to late '89 and I couldn't believe how different Lower Broad looks now. Nashville needs to be thinking about history and preserving some of it - It saddens and sickens me.
I tried to go into Tootsie's but wasn't wearing the proper costume so I wasn't let in. The Ryman was closed, and that piece of shit they call the Opry had tons of Hank Sr. stuff, though he isn't a member. Nashville can suck it.
I dont know why they have Dolly Parton on this documentary, it makes me think the makers of this didnt have a clue what they are doing. This documentary is all about real country music and how country has been sold out due to pop stars, so for some reason they put in one of the biggest examples of pop country in the documentary purely because she is famous and may help get them more viewers or something
@SomaLFM bro wtf are you talking about lol, Dolly has been around for ages and is one of the most famous country starts ever. She shared the stage with porter wagner, willie nelson, roger miller, mel tillis, george jones and the list just goes on, she is a staple in "real" country music and you are callin her "pop" in a sence that she is a sell out or something, come on man... now if they had put taylor swift on there on there yea, but your way off base man.
God damnit! I Hate Punks. They always think music has to be a certain way to be classified as such. Punk rock has to sound like this, or country has to sound like that. Pisses me off.
I lived in Nashville from 1966 to 1989. NOBODY from Nashville or Tennessee wears a cowboy hat. Boots yes but anyone wearing a cowboy hat in Nashville is either a tourist or a douchebag
Yea, Im from Knoxville and the only people Ive ever seen in Nashville wearing cowboy hats are like heavy metal type Guns n Roses wannabes or people that come there from somewhere else.
I live in CA. My friend, a great country songwriter/singer decided to go to Nashville to "make it". He was that good, everyone knew we would see him become a big star. He packed guitars, dogs, food and clothing into his truck, and took off. One month later he was back. He said Nashville was the "worst experiance" he ever had "it's nothing like what I expected." This was 15 years ago. He said it sucked, and seemed so depressing. "So many great musicians going nowhere - what a waste."
Yea, I don't understand the friends of the devil shit either. I'm agnostic and don't really give a fuck but this devil shit is childish and just immature.
I gotta agree... one thing Christians and Agnostics can agree on lol. If you don't believe in God or Satan that makes sense. But why worship Satan because if you believe in Satan than you have to believe in God as well. By all accounts Satan is going to be on the loosing side... fucking idiots lol.
@BradNC11175 ...no one (over the age of 13) truly "worships" satan ...that's a myth. Satan and God are both SYMBOLS .... it's about light and dark ....and the two go hand in hand you can never have one without the other being there.
@PabstBlueRamsey I agree with you when you say you can't have one without the other. I wish I could agree with you about the "over the age of 13" part but I've seen differently.
it aint all white folks. Come on down to South Carolina see southern country blackfolks for miles. theyre my good friends and they hate the feds just as much as you and I.
i dont know- toby keith sure sounds like country to me alot of times- hes got some pop bull shit but hes got some real country- joe buck sounds like hes playing punk music but i will check out the other videos and get a better idea

My son and stepson...who had the band Tribal Assault and were regulars at The Cannery...had funky hair...back in the early 90's. Sooooo, Joe Buck, who sings about f*** Nashville....get ya some "original" on!

Did anybody else notice that in the subtitles, when they were talking about Dolly Parton, that it said "bra"? Pretty ironic.
