These cuts in funding will be devastating to all who receive the pell grant. In order to bring more awareness to this issue I would love to hear some stories as to how the pell grant has helped individuals and what it means to you. When the Pell Grant eligibility was cut during Bush's term, I thank God for local state funds that kicked in to fill the gap with my tuition. Pell grant awarded at a four institution was not sufficient for me to attend without the assistance of state funds. This allow me to borrow less loan funds and still graduate on time.
Did I have to work while in school? Yes, but my hours only increased due to my increased spending habits of hanging out with friends and attending events.
