I have a 120gb and I treat it like a damn king but the other day the hard drive just quit all of a sudden when I tried to switch songs...hasn't been dropped, spilled upon, bumbed hard or any other form of abuse. It just makes loud scratching noise and beeps now with a #5 error screen. I would gladly switch to flash if they get it! no more hard drive fails (p.s. my 120 was only 2 years old and gently used.)

Your kinda right about the 80gb thing, I don't even know of so many songs, but I dont really like the ipod touch, why would I want the same thing but with useless features? The features the ipod has are just to show-off, I prefer the 4/8 GB zune. The touch screen is just more money for less durability. Radio and social are much better features. The zune is also stronger than the ipod.

If you really want to buy this thing just wait a bit. Microsoft always stuffs the channel way overfull so they can send out a press release saying how many they shipped, then retailers have to discount the crap out of it to get them out of the store. Microsoft reimburses them for the loss, but that doesn't get mentioned in a press release. The whole product strategy on this thing is a fraud.
well, you can fill your ipod with free stuff for one, you have multiple mods and hacks for it, it has a wide arrange of products and models, a big community for the product and its hacks. also i dont know if you can on a zune but with the ipod you can always use it as an external hard drive or manually manage it's content.

They did a really good job on the new zunes - the hardware that is. The software... well, the software itself made me return my new Zune 80. Try it. You'll see why.
I am impressed with Bill. He didn't make up anything, although he may have dramatized a few points. I think this is why it's such a short video. Microsoft simpily doesn't know how (or want) to deliver a sucessful, appealing music player. Something that looks good at first but ties you to a subscription (like about all cellphones for example), and turns out to have less features than promised, doesn't make an appealing product.

The Zune is a fantastic device, no matter what anyone says. The new interface is loaded with features that competitors such as th iPod doesn't have, and the Zune has just as sleek of a look. The reason that iPod is surviving is because it is a veteran on the market. The Zune will catch on, and the iPod may find itself (finally)defeated.

The original ipod was a very good device, even though they did steal the zen's patented interface. I still dont see why creative hasnt pressed chrages. But the new ipod classic is just dumb. I have used ipods for a while, but i am tired of their monopoly on mp3 players. The zune is, in my opinion, just a better product. it is refreshing to see a worthy competitor on the market.

...And I really don't care about photos, because I use music player to share _photos_. And I'm not saying zune is necessary a bad music player (just mediocre) but this sharing feature (that do was able to make it above average) it totally crippled and useless.
its more of a media player than a music player - so yes, i can see a lot of people sharing photos. im not sure what the restrictions are on videos though. plus, you can pull down music off a network. so, the wi-fi features are a great reason to get it.

Once you tell people what the Zune actually does and show them one out of the box, they're quick to buy one over the iPod. iPod is a fad and like every fad it will fade away. Zune will be standing in its place. Give it a few more years. It really is a better piece of hardware.

Your kinda right about the 80gb thing, I don't even know of so many songs, but I dont really like the ipod touch, why would I want the same thing but with useless features? The features the ipod has are just to show-off, I prefer the 4/8 GB zune. The touch screen is just more money for less durability. Radio and social are much better features. The zune is also stronger than the ipod.

Microsoft always stuffs the channel way overfull so they can send out a press release saying how many they shipped, then retailers have to discount the crap out of it to get them out of the store. Macs are perfectly fine for people that want something that just works and have no plans on upgrading anything, but if you want to upgrade and/or if you want to game then a mac isn't going to cut it. What people don't realize is that Windows has to be made to work with countless combinations of hardware, and it does a pretty good job. Macs work sooo well because they are made to be compatible with what they come with and nothing else.

As Microsoft fails to innovate, people will want something "fresh" and new, something better. OS X is one of the easiest operating systems on the planet. I am impressed with Bill. He didn't make up anything, although he may have dramatized a few points. I think this is why it's such a short video. Microsoft simpily doesn't know how (or want) to deliver a sucessful, appealing music player. Something that looks good at first but ties you to a subscription (like about all cellphones for example), and turns out to have less features than promised, doesn't make an appealing product.

The reason that iPod is surviving is because it is a veteran on the market. The Zune will catch on, and the iPod may find itself (finally)defeated.

The original ipod was a very good device, even though they did steal the zen's patented interface. I still dont see why creative hasnt pressed chrages. But the new ipod classic is just dumb. I have used ipods for a while, but i am tired of their monopoly on mp3 players. The zune is, in my opinion, just a better product. it is refreshing to see a worthy competitor on the market.

Once you tell people what the Zune actually does and show them one out of the box, they're quick to buy one over the iPod. iPod is a fad and like every fad it will fade away. Definitly MSFT is going to make steve jobs swet a bit, and i think Zune 3 is where MSFT is going to get the attention needed to make a hit at Ipod and their Isheeps...
too bad this will become another PS2vsXbox/PS3vsXbox360/MacvsPC battle
only getting worse by the confussion fanboys make.
at the end is all about your style, there no "number 1" only options.

i meant - the PS2 was out for three or so years before the xbox, so that might explain its sales.

Bill gates actually looks as if he thinks this is a farce as he's describing features. They are just making this product because they can. They dont care about it, and are dumping so much money into it... because they can. No other compatny would waste this much on a product that is probably going to fail. They just wanted to show the world they could make one too... but as usual... five years after Apple.

I dont get that at all. That is so funny. The Zune is such a cheap copy of an ipod. Not to mention, that Vista is already 5 years behing os X 10,5 (leopard) You should really take a look at a nice OS.
