I depends how you look at it. I have watched both Japanese and American cartoons and I can easily tell you that many animes are very good (some like Outlaw Star, Naruto and Cowboy Bebop are excellent, btw!), but ecchi animes can be hard to relate. American animation during the "golden age" of movies and TV were beautiful(G.I.Joe and Transformers are a few good examples.)I'm not trying to disrespect on purpose, I just say what I have seen, that's all. Animes have a lot less rules to follow.
