  • lol

  • aw, i wanted to see huckabee pwn his ass........huckabee? fuuuuuuck me.

  • Everyone in that room is a nut job, beginning with Thompson. Go back to your bad acting old man.

  • Huckabee was the only smart Republican in the room. What an idiot conservatives and Republicans always are.

  • Fred Thompson was the only Reagan conservative in the race. All of the others, with the exception of Duncan Hunter, only used Reagan's name when it was convenient.

  • Amen. Huckabee is a knave. He stated today on Fox News Sunday that likely will not run in 2012. Let's pray he sticks to that.

  • Should have shown Huckabee's response, Thompson was doing this for McCain and everyone knows it.

  • Thompson was horrifyingly dishonest.

  • Fred Thompson is the closest thing the GOP has to a fascist, glad he lost.

  • I'm sorry, I'm confused. Fred Thompson was for the least amount of government (aside from Paul) and the most amount of government intervention. Now, considering fascism is a police state in which there is complete gov't control, I'd love to hear your argument about how Thompson is a fascist. Or are you just picking up on the latest liberal, ignorant word-craze?

  • Thompson was not fascist and a great candidate in many respects.

But his voting record on major issues like campaign finance was more similar to John McCain.

  • Huckabee was the only Republican running in 2008 that was not a joke. McCain won because of his name recognition. I wouldn't mind Huckabee being the nominee in 2012, but his religiousness freaks me out.

  • What do you mean about Gov. Huckabee's religion freaking you out? I really don't understand this because EVERY president we have ever had (even Obama) claims to be Christian. Huck is no different from any of the others. him to be honest and open).

  • @michigan83guerrilla Ya, Huckabee seems like the only Republican worth listening too. I agree though that anyone too religious is always scary.

No one should be in office who belives the world is going to end anyway.

  • I would like to see Thompson debate Obama. Thompson is articulate and has substance to his arguments...

  • damn he through that shit down on him

    lol

  • If they work for the Money they earn the money brother....if their born into than lucky fuckers...but don't take from people who got there by workin hard and don't steal from their families and kin just so you can give it to some lazy lard ass through a welfare check...cuz if my dad that had cancer 3 times can work 12 hours and support my family of 4 then so can u..

  • Again, Fred Thompson is an arrogant man, like John McCain. He errodes his own sense of compency when it comes to falsely accuse McCain's rival. Fred Thompson's incompency will show when it comes to making up nonsense about Obama. Nobody wants to hear about McCain's so called heroism when in fact the war in Iraq changed everything.

  • compency? Incompency? lol

And you should want to hear about McCain's heroism. It shows he can't be bought. He won't sell us out for his own benefit. Obama turned on his pastor and was friends with an American terrorist in order to further his political career.

And what exactly did the war in Iraq change besides how we board airplanes? It didn't change McCain putting the country first. That's the main point of Thompson's speech. Someone we can count on, not someone we hope we can count on.

  • Thank you Fred Thompson. Finally someone who is willing to stand up for individual rights. This is the person who deserves to be running this nation. This is the land of the free, not the land of the socialists.

  • individual rights!? ever hear of ron paul?

  • spawk You are in neo-con-ville they don't know what it means to be republican, conservative, or even American..

  • im a neo con?!?! im a non interventionist austiran economics pro liberty and individual right libertarian/ron paul rebublican, NOT a neo con. :)

  • Oh yeah and don't show Mike Huckabee's response. Bias much?

  • Fred Thompson was camped in SC for months and I can tell you he was lazy, attacked Governor Huckabee constantly trying to run on what others couldn't do, not what he COULD do. If he would have spent some time talking himself up instead of Governor Huckabee down, we might hav very different results. This man was an embarrassment to the republican party. Governor Huckabee should have been the nominee....

  • Fred would have been a great President, he just didn't have the kind of organization or desire that he should have.

  • I supported Thompson but I agree that he was lazy...at least Huckabee was a bit more motivated, and in the end, I think Huckabee best represents the average American

  • i hope he runs again one day

  • I was for Fred Thompson but he half assed it. Huckabee was a moron and a religious extremist. He was like the "Christian Taliban"

  • Fred Thompson is to lazy to win the presidency. You have to campaign long hours and not be a quitter. Thompson did not have the stamina and all he could do was attanck others. He didn't have enough time left to tell what he could do because he was too busy trying to discourage people from voting for Governor Huckabee. What a poor excuse for a candidate Fred Thompson was.

  • Someday it will be President Fred Dalton Thompson.

  • Thompson may have had good ideas but he did not work hard to win. Lazy. It is hard work to be president and Thompson did not have the dedication to do the job. Did you hearw hat he said about the vp job? It was not worth it for anything but president. That is a lousy comment for someone who wants to serve the country.

  • This man was the lazyiest candidate out there and it is a shame he wasted his time trying to knock Huckabee down instead of to tell what he himself could do. Governor Huckabbe was voted one of the 5 best governors in Arkansas, was re-elected til he could not take another term and STILL has a 65% approval rating in the state (those who know him best). We really NEED Mike Huckabee in Washington NOW. I hope Senator McCain will do right by America and place Huckabee on the ticket as his vp.

  • No nrobyar,

This man was the best damn candidate the Republican party had running and they blew it! Absolutely blew it! Obama wouldn't have stood a snowball's chance in hell against this intelligent, insightful and humble man! Praying he'll try again in 2012. If Obama get's in, others will be praying for that day too. By then, after four years of that empty suit, Fred will look like a knight in shining armor. He already does to me.

  • Are you from Arkansas? I am. And let me tell you, Huckabee SUCKED. He favored school consolidation, taking away local identities and crowding other schools. In some instances, the small schools that were closed down were BETTER than the ones their students were shipped to. Another thing is that he believed the government had the right to dictate what students ATE, just because he lost a lot of weight.

  • Hucksterbee is more liberal than John McCain. He has a terrible track-record as a Governor and was another George Bush - makes himself appear like a true conservative until election night, after which he reverts back to his fundamental values - big government, and higher taxes.

  • Gov. Huckabee was voted one of the best governors in the US, was re-elected twice and had one of the highest approval ratings of ANY governor in history! Your opinion is obviously quite in the minority.

  • Fred Thompson just laid the smackdown!

  • excuse me while i go cry in a corner over the fact that fred will not be our president

  • pwnt. haha. i wish i could have voted... fred thompson '08. even though he dropped out, he is the only good candidate.

  • what screenwriter wrote this line he is so obviously his podium?

  • isnt fred thompson the guy who doesnt believe in gravity

  • McCain should be thrown out at the GOP convention. DRAFT FRED THOMPSON!

  • Man Fred tore him apart with that one. He was the best but now we have the worst in Mccain.

  • i wish fred didnt drop out

  • Thompson would have been a good President for the US.

  • ugh.. i'm pissed Thompson dropped out!!!

  • No matter what others say, Senator Thompson, I believe with all my heart you would have made an awesome President. I miss you and am praying for you. =0(

  • Fred's out, and Ron Paul just raised 1.85 million on MLK day, who's viable??

    Join the freedom train today!!!

The troops support Ron Paul, support them by bringing them home!!!!Bring them home by electing RON PAUL!!!

  • Ron Paul is the best candidate.

  • Take that !It is all true!Go Fred!

  • Keep Fred up in the polls, and watch him powerhouse on my videos.

  • Shut the fuck Fred the old man Thompson, Go back to Law and Order.

  • Bring Law and Order to the White House!

  • and it would a been better to include Huckabee's rebuttal...

  • lol i seen this debate and huckabees rebuttal wasnt anything special.

  • he has nothing to say other than harking back to the Reagan Revolution as if that's all you need When RP was talking economics, old Fred was totally lost, and said as much, "can you run that by me again"

  • fred thompson is a fucking idiot...want any more deep political insight?

  • Fred is responsible for persistently spreading mis-truths about Huckabee's record as governor. For instance, the tax increases that took place while he was in office. There was a gas tax increase to fund roads, that was voted on by the people of Arkansas. Also, there was a court-ordered tax increase to fund schools in the state.

  • thompson did well.. hit the nail on head. i want a president with leadership..not a preacher who speaks well infront of people.

  • Fred Thompson? leadership?

  • lol im guessing you want the guy that just got owned.

  • actually No I'm a Paul man Fred Thompson hs nothing to say, he talks in generalities, he tries for the quip how is he qualified to be president? he has no platform, no agenda, he has sound bites (or tries to)sad thing is in America you say "I'm a conservative!" and people say ya great I'll vote for you...

  • Fred is the only true conservative.

  • not true, look at ron paul's voting record.

  • shut up about that looser.

  • no more fox news for you young man.you'll rot your brain.

  • lets see your user name is abc pool. i guess you do pools. so how many illegals do you have working for you.

  • First of all Thompsons is right. The looser is RP, so old soon will be rip. "DO" pools? The only person I employ is me. See unlike you I don't punch in each day at the local burger joint. Oh I forgot I do have one illegal your mother, but shes works on her back. She is the only thing that gets done.

  • Wrong. Ron Paul's the epitome of conservatism: never voted for tax increase; wants to get rid of federal social programs; wants to get rid of federal departments like the department of education; wants to protect civil liberties by doing things like getting rid fo the Patriot Act; wants to put an end to premptive war; wants to close military bases because founding fathers did not want us to be the Policeman of the world. Ron Paul's conservative record is impecable.

  • Yeah Fred, what a spirited defense of the Reagan Coalition! Fred's Fired Up! It didn't look like the RNC or FoxNews fed you those lines at all! Yeah Baby! Go Fred.... Ummmmm... Uhhhhh... Getting sleepy.... Z z z z z z z z . . .

  • While Paul's showing was certainly commendable, I certainly believe Thompson won this one (I know that Luntz's people are a common hated enemy of my friends under Paul's banner), particularly with this jab.

As for Huckabee, I don't see how he could possibly win against Hillary or Obama; the only reason he has made it this far is because the leftist MSM has refused to attack him with hopes that they can get the easily attackable candidate to be the Republican nominee.

  • yea, he told the best joke. a well timed joke always makes our problems go away.

  • Actually, I believe Ron Paul won the debate if you ask everyone that voted by text and not Frank Luntz's handpicked neocon sheep.

  • do you like sheep? did you grow up on a farm? what about hip waders?

  • Sorry man. You lost me. I have no idea what you are talking about. Do you understand the implication of the term "sheep" in this context?

  • are you fond of sheep genitalia?

  • Moron.

  • the only reason fred is attacking huck is because he FINALLY figured out how close to winning this thing he really is. strange part is that thompson is a very intelligent guy. hes been in the game too long though. he couldnt beat hillary and DEFINITELY cant beat obama. huck is the only one here that can. mccain is a war hero, but hes too old. obama raised up the youth of the nation. and theyre votin.

  • young people NEVER carry elections. There are a lot of (current) Dem supporters that will change their minds once they realize they are not voting against Bush anymore, and the Dem candidates are too weak to handle our International situation. Barack may be an exception to this but he lacks the advisory apparatus and network of someone like McCain.

AND Dem entitlement ideas are unaffordable.

  • theres a lot of legit fact in what you claim. i have to disagree with the youth of the nation aspect though. what were seeing is a bit of history repeat. we have A LOT of pissed young americans who realized were inheriting a broken nation. they think obama is their kennedy.

  • I know, Im young & agree with the broken part. I even like a lot of things about Barack, but severely hope he's not elected; not that he's (half) black i could care less; I disagree with B.O. on > 70% of his positions. I think we need to tighten our belt, allow states rights, 2nd amend, keep defense strong, & not try to cripple big business we depend on. we need pragmatism not idealism.

we can have Obama pres when we all 'get along', there are no terrorists and we have a $2trillion surplus.

  • i hear you. :) i still claim -and have had others back me up as well as what i read about him- that the genY's think Obama is their kennedy. pauls done. has he been over 10% yet? guiliani needs to go back to wearing his fuzzy bunny slippers. romneys a putz, michigan was a fluke. and freds was a lobbyist for too long. mccain cant beat the dems. not this time

  • Excuse me 42 of 91 delegates do not agree that mich and wyo first place and second in iowa and NH are all a "fluke". If you think he will not be the nominee this is time for you to wake up. PUTZ........

  • gen y's endorsement may be a bad thing for BO. FT is the only one who openly recognizes that to compete globally we cant be locked into entitlement spending patterns, or high corporate taxes. we need strong defense b/c we have too many enemies, and there is no truning back. gen y wants to pretend this is 2000 again, its not. we'll ruin ourselves with that farce. at this point if it sounds too good to be true... or maybe, "if it sounds sweet & easy, its dead & wrong".

  • Well no shit, Barack Obama perfectly represents my own generation: All Style, No Substance. Their view of the world: let's forget all this fighting and go get drunk and bang total strangers. What a damn shame.

  • I think it is a shame that the media seems to be campaigning so much in favor of Clinton and McCain. I wish the media would give more unbiased, fair coverage of all candidates. It is time to picket the new stations in your area!

  • agreed, they've got the will of the people by the balls with media consolidation.

  • Can Fred please tell us what he has done besides lobby for GE, Westinghouse, Toyota, Asbestos firms, and deposed dictators? Fred Thompson has been a registered lobbyist since 1983. He opposes the Fair Tax because it takes away the power of lobbyist to manipulate the tax code. It's time for real tax reform that returns power to the people, not the Washington Lobbyist. Its time to return power to Main Street, not K-Street.

  • you are exactly right and I don't know why people keep wanting to stand up and support him. I guess people just don't want to hear the truth.

  • ill second that motion.

  • yup :)

  • pauls record is probably the most flip flop of them all. he puts earmarks into bills and votes agaist the bills he helped create. whats up with that? would he do it as president? put things into bills that WONT get by the house to make things look good? i cant stand the guy, dont trust him.

  • The earmarks are just requests. If he doesn't add them, then he won't get reelected. But he votes against them so that ultimately he doesn't endorse the system. He wants to change the system which is the root cause of why so many bills are getting passed to waster taxpayers money. He is the only one who opposes his own bills so how could any other candidate be better.

  • Thompson finally called Huckabee on being the liberal that he is - point by point.

Huckabee is a pathetic excuse for a Presidential candidate - bad ideas, bad record as a governor, lack of ethics, dishonesty and sick jokes.

  • Its membership list is a who's who of Washington and Wall St. elite going back nearly a century. It should not be surprising that most presidential candidates in the 2008 election are CFR members. Candidates do not advertise their CFR membership to the public. They pose as liberals and conservatives to control all aspects of the debate. The CFR has stacked the deck for the 2008 election with several members in the race from both sides of the isle.

  • How can ANYONE support Fred Thompson? almost every response he gave was SCRIPTED. he glances at his paper every 2 seconds.

The man doesn't know jackshit. He's just gonna end up being an impressionable puppet.

  • it's so true, he also mocked the entire islamic faith at the last debate and people think he will be a great diplomat. I swear that man just feeds off of ignorance.

  • Fuck them all, Mike Fuckabee, Mitt Polygamy, Billary Clinton, Barak "Saddam Hussien Osama bin Laden" Obama. If you want to save this country, vote for Ron Paul.

  • all candidates except Thompson are liberal shape shifters ie: conservatives with liberal policies and they changed them all just to run for prez

  • 1:12 grimace from fuckabee - that line hurt

  • Just because some people text messaged FOX news for Ron Paul does not mean he won.

  • Fred was great. Paul is such a freak. Those who called in are Paul's supporters. That didn't mean he won. They would have called in and voted for Paul if he wasn't even at the debate.

  • i must admit I did like Fred's attacks on Huck but the title of this video is incorrect. Ron Paul won the NC debates officially. Fox themselves had him win by over 10%. It's not your fault if you don't know, the media doesn't try to give Paul any credit, but I stayed up after the debate to see who won and sure enough it was Ron Paul again. Actually the only one he didn't win was because he was banned from it by fox.

  • This is why debates are so stupid. There is no official "winner" I thought fred thompson was the best that night, but others will say Paul won. Debates, while occasionally entertaining, prove nothing except who can think the quickest and spin the best.

  • And I get tired of all these Paul guys that like to blame the media. He has a loyal, rabid following, but it is small. His message is refreshing, but fails to convince me that he will be the best president of all the republican candidates out there.

  • bullseye

  • fox held the debate and directly following that fox allowed people who watched it to vote for the winner. Paul won. Simply put. If you think debates prove nothing than why are you trolling a debate video with your Fred support? And to your other comment above, the media IS to blame. Look up Frank Luntz, he has been caught red handed lieing to people while "reporting" on fox news and trying to fix the polls with actors posing as real voters.

  • I came here to watch the Thompson quote because I liked what he said and I posted a comment. If that means I am "trolling", then so be it.

It's not like there's a way of keeping score in a debate. Maybe lots of people thought paul won, I thought Fred won.

  • There was one clear winner. I like Fred but I've not lost objectivity. Paul clearly looked befuddled. It may have not been fair but then again this race isn't about fair.

  • Debates provide a way to see if a politician is going to remain consistent in arguments, and provide a realistic way of determining a politicians true policies. I can't think of a better way to get the truth about a man than to put him on the spot in a pit with a bunch of his rivals.

  • Yeah, I don't think that's true, but whatever.

  • if paul is so popular why has he not won any of the 4 states that have held their primaries?

  • At least he still has enough money to keep his campaign funded. Everyone else went broke spending on two states out of 50. Blowing money unwisely is just the type of thing that jacks up our economy. Ron Paul knows economics and I'm sure this is financially strategic.

  • he has enough hate filled ronbots to keep him here, but that doesnt mean his ideas are sound. that he would turn his back on the rrest of the world, except financially is a fantasy. its a wish for pacifists, and thats the only thing keeping him here.

  • Fred looks like a dead fuck !

  • Now, there's a real MAN. Fred, keep it coming like that ... tromp the opposition ... and march right up the steps of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

  • I'm for Rudy or Mitt, but Thompson, if he can be more consistent, like he was this night, he'd be a good one to. Please Please, no Huckabee or Mccain, they're imposters, to the republican party!

  • Visit the websites fredrepublic and fred08

  • And Rudy isn't an impostor?

  • No he was in a liberal state, but he's more Republican then Huck and Mcclame!!

  • Ron Paul won the South Carolina Fox News debate, according to the Fox News poll. He has won all the debates as far as I know. Might have something to do with wanting to strictly adhere to the constitution, being the exact opposite of a flip flopper and the most fiscally conservative of all the candidates. He has an almost flawless voting record that always sides with the constitution.

  • I once was a Libertarian, and admire many of the party's principles. Appreciate Frederic Bastiat's "The Law" for settng forth Libertarian logic with elegant simplicity. But, I can't stand with Dr. Paul or today's big-L Libertarians because they are one click away from practical pacifism. To preserve our freedoms (and our skins), we must be willing to fight -- yes, even to initiate combat. That sentiment is impossible to find in any party but the Republican, and too scarce even there.

  • Go FDT! We have a true conservative running for President! Go donate to Fred, If you like what he stands for. He needs your help.

  • Fred was great last night!!! I hope it wasn't too late. I laughed my ass off! BTW... what is with Ron Paul???... the first time I saw/heard him... I thought he was a SNL plant. I was laughing at him... I cold NOT believe this little elf was for real. How did he get in these debates?

  • How did Ron Paul get in the debates? Because the United States is a democratic republic! He is a 10 term Republican Congressman from Texas with a flawless record of voting for what he believes in, which hasn't changed in 20 years. Strict adherence to the constitution(they swear to uphold it), fiscal conservatism and non-interventionism are something you laugh at and are joke to you. You need to reassess your values.

  • Thhat was a rhetorical question. But since you defended this little troll, I'll give you my rebuttal. You say he hasn't changed in 20 years?.... after hearing him a few times now.... he should change. He is a JOKE. He's like the embarrassing Uncle at Christmas time.

  • Read your constitution.

  • MY Constitution is framed right in front of me, thank you... but what does that have to do with Ron Troll's embarrassing performance at the SC debates? He's incompetent, uniformed about the issues and clueless how to answer the questions asked of him. However... he is entertaining... I do laugh at the little troll. I'm just baffled how got got elected to Congress in the first place. OK... now you can give me the thumbs down... it's the only defense you whack jobs have.

  • thank you fred <3

  • To me, Fred is the only consistently conservative candidate in this bunch. Quite obviously, none of these guys are perfect...nobody ever could be. But we need a tough leader in these times. Critics say Fred appears tough because he is an actor. Well Reagan was an actor also. I liked the results we got from him.

  • Fred is the ONLY real conservative in this race. If people really look into Huck's record you will see a consistent history of liberal policies and still talks the populist talk. Real CONSERVATIVES should go to Fred now...........It's not too late..........GO FRED GO!!!

  • F.T. IS THE MODEL OF A PRESIDENT!!!

  • Give me a Break

It must be nice for Fred to vote for "No Child left Behind" when the states have to pay for it. Rush finally gave this guy his script, and awoken the FredHeads. People understand what it takes to grow a state economy. It takes education to create a skilled work force, and infrastructure to get their goods and services to market. I wish my state tax burden was as low as Arkansas. I think the citizens of Massachusetts, Tennessee, Arizona, and New York would feel the same.

  • Tennessee doesn't have a state income tax.

  • What do you mean "FredHeads" ARE YOU NAME CALLING???

  • I'm Ron Paul supporter, but I have to tell you, Fred would be my 2nd choice for sure.

Great smackdown of a smug uninformed idiot (Huckleberry) It's nice to see some life back in Fred.

  • Why doesn't Fred talk about his ideas for all of us instead of throwing out easily defended "atomic elbows?" The first thing that came to my mind is that Fred must be desperate and Mike must be "over the target" or the man to beat! Is Fred the true conservative? I did some research and looked up Huckabee's record and answers to all these questions. Easily answered...to those who really want to know. I'm voting Huck! He doesn't have to trash others to inspire people!

  • The Huckster is snake oil salesman and a fraud.

If you believe anything Huckster says I have a really nice bridge for sale

  • I agree wity you, kayaker. The Huckster is also too rehearsed...in my opinion.

  • Yes and let's all not forget: the media WANTS us all to swoon over Huckabee, because they KNOW he can be easily beaten in the general election. Any so-called "conservative" who goes against school vouchers is a liberal in my opinion.

  • /pwn3d

  • wow everyone immeadiately believes without checking the facts, look up Huckabees actual policies before believing everything that is spoon fed to you by an opponent

  • I'm glad someone finally called out Huckabee. Hopefully he'll call out McCain next.

  • Sounds like he is more liberal than Hilary!! cause she doesn't to close down Guantanamo but Huckabee does!

  • Fred has no money !

  • Fred has plenty of money. We just raised almost a million dollars for him. Money isn't a problem. We also have plenty left to give. Fred has a huge grass roots online presence that is just growing and growing. We are going to win SC and all of the South. A Southern boy can survive!

  • Yeah Baby!

Get some. I've been sending money to FDT for the last two months, hopefully I can do it for the next two more months.

  • It is incredible to watch the money flowing in. It is coming in at literally thousands of dollars every few minutes. He is going to hit a million before the SC primary going at this rate!

  • Booooyeaahhhhh! He Is Our Next.....

PRESIDENT< I can't wait to see him debate the democratic nominee (insert name here). He drew blood here, he will go MAXIMUS (Gladiator style) on the democrat!

  • GO Fred!

    A leader. NOT a politician.

A statesman and a TRUE conservative.

What you see is what you get.

    GO FRED!

We need this man in the White House.

Lets all do what we can to help.

    Fred can do it!

  • I have also donated money to Thompson's campaign. Unfortunately, I think it's too little too late for him. I wish he would have been like this from the start.

  • Rasmussen had this to say:

Fred Thompson's support is the most solid of all the candidates. Sixty-six percent (66%) of his supporters are "certain" they will vote for him. Fifty-seven percent (57%) of Huckabee supporters are that "certain" along with 49% of McCain backers and 48% of those who currently favor Romney.

Thompson is viewed favorably by 72% of Likely Primary voters in the Palmetto State, McCain by 71% and Huckabee by 69%.

  • Volunteer callers for Fred have noticed far better responses then in Iowa, and many undecides leaning Fred. He can do it. WE can do it. This thing is just getting started.

  • Neither have I. This is the first year I've given to any candidate. I just love how he is speaking to the heart of conservatism. He is a leader and he is not ashamed.

  • I haven't been this excited about a candidate in years. I haven't given to a Presidential candidate ever. But Fred has my money, and he hit a home run in this debate.

Fred is, for me, the best conservative choice in this race. That conservative revolution brought us an improved economy and the end of the cold war. Sounds exactly like what we need now.

  • Better late than never! We finally found our true conservative he stood out tonight! Way to go Fred.

  • This was excellent. I was floudering for a long time trying to decide if I wanted any Republican for president. Well tonight Fred convinced me and I send him $. He is the only candidate I want to be president. I hope to God he wins, because it is now obvious to me, that he is the one man who can save this country.
