@steveo198632 Well, way back in '82 Letterman WAS different, tweeking the Johnny Carson/Tom Snyder talk show conventions and having offbeat guests. Now everyone imitates his old style, while he's more like Carson was now (not that there's anything wrong with that).
Whoa, Dave mentioned Elisabeth Shue being on... the same night as Jason Alexander... in Curb Your Enthusiasm, she played his wife. Coincidence? I think SO.
A McDLT was a McDonald's Lettuce and Tomato sandwich, the name playing off of a BLT, Bacon Lettuce and Tomato. They made a big deal about how the hot and cold parts were seperated until you put them together. It did about as well as New Coke and Crystal Pepsi.
if i had the money...i would just pay jason alexander to come to my house and have lunch and a coffee with me...but he will be in character as George Costanza! That would be hilarious! costanza is the funniest character ever! : ) ( he would probably turn the lunch and the coffee into something paranoid and chaotic! hehehehe )
yeah, everyone says he is a master act acting, if he had the looks of brad pitt, he would have made some great movies, cause u see colin farrel, great looking but cant act
the funny thing about this video is that Paul Schaeffer actually turned down the role of george in the 80's because he thought it "wouldn't make him any money". Great decision, paul.
Hey, this is back when Letterman used to actually be funny...you know, before he turned into a bitter, old, partisan, creep. Jason, of course, is Jason...he's just brilliant.
That's an epic commercial!

McDLT came out in 1985. It was very good. They should bring it back.

kind of difficult to reconcile this with the utter tone-deafness of "believe it or not, george isn't at home. please leave a message at the beep.."

This is the best rendition of The Impossible Dream, I've ever heard - incredibly passionate.
Jason Alexander sings it with more heart than Placido Domingo, Luther Vandross and Richard Kiley.
