  • the scratchy noises annoy me so bad I want to murder fuzzy little animals.

  • this is probably better than dubstep :p

  • god rockwell is a fucking weirdo! lol

  • The vinyl for this track plays the opposite way a record normally plays, it starts in the centre and then ends at the edge of the record.

  • @pseudoxayide If this is true, I need this.

  • pretty bad ass

  • absolutely dope. genius track

  • woah. minimal breakcore. genius.

  • Ridiculously good.

  • Siiiick Piic!

  • Alien music

  • Hmmm, I would consider this psy-DnB, Rockwell puts elements into his music comparable to infected mushroom...but this is much cleaner *not trying to start genre war here*

  • Remembering hearing this on Warm Communications Promo mix almost two years ago, finding it again today, so much joy! Big tune.

  • Dope def completely

  • Fuckin dope

  • I wonder what it sounds like fowards?

  • I don't know if I like this... My mind was fucked pretty hard just now, and let's just say that coherent thoughts are a thing of the past.

  • Did anyone who's arguing that it should be played backwards actually try reversing it? It's pretty clear if you do that it's supposed to be played this way...

  • @MopmanPlays I reversed it out of interest. It's obviously supposed to be played forwards.

  • @Decidan Haha I just realised my comment is confusing as. I mean, if you reverse it, it makes it obvious that the way it's played in this vid (forwards) is the way its meant to be. Rockwell you made a really confusing record to talk about!

  • @MopmanPlays Ok maybe my comment was a bit confusing. I was agreeing with you. But yes, it is a tune asking for disagreement. I can't get enough of it though. Love the build up for the second drop. So atmospheric.

  • Thats fucking amazing. This is Art

  • awesome picture too!

  • serious freak, mind blowing

  • mental

  • vision is an amazing talent to have

  • I don't even know what to say except I like it.

  • Amazing tune....anyone thinking it supposed to be played backwards obviously doesn't quite get it....I don't doubt it sounds nice backwards, but take it for what it is....

    I <3 Shogun Audio

  • Hey guys, not meaning to spam or anything but I just set up a channel for my dance music project 'NOVA' and I'd love some views and comments, maybe even a subscription or two.

    /user/novamusiclive?feature=mhee

    Thanks :)

  • !ti evol

  • Where did u get the Image from???????

  • NO question as to why it's called reverse engineering.

  • Is this available to buy on mp3 anywhere?

    Geat tune

  • Damnit, i just wanted the 1980s one hit wonder, but i guess this will do.

  • This is so cool. ;)

  • This tune is gnarly, sounds like two giant crabs fighting for air in the bottom of a suffocating well. Fuck all the people that don't see the beauty in this, calling it a fucking novelty track. Get over yourselves, it's music. Not every producer aims to smash your dancefloor 24/7, so dicks can fuck off ya heard. Word.

  • Oh..my god.. this is fucking fantastic.

  • huge fan

  • Right. Fucking hell. KonFusedKid23 has got it right. The sounds ARE all backwards... but this is what it sounds like when played forwards. On the vinyl version, as said before, the grooves are backwards so the song plays backwards, and it sounds a hell of a lot better!! "everything (& U(" is a sample of what the full, reversed, track sounds like so listen to that. or download Hospital Podcast #130 from iTunes and let Tony Coleman explain it to you.

  • @TommyBizzle420 no mate in reverse engineering most of the samples are reversed, im sure some sound like they are normal like some claps, but its all arranged in a forward flowing manner just using reversed samples. everything (&U) is a totally different track, but the vinyl still plays backwards. but its not playing backwards, the song is just cut to vinyl in reverse so that it plays from the centre out, but the track is playing the right way round. reverse engineering, reversed, sounds shit

  • where can i get the picture from?

  • Rockwell has lost it a bit here----too far forward lol needs to chill

  • isnt this full circle but in reverse? - heard that somewhere

  • this song is meant to be played backwards it's been designed for vinyl so that when you play it on a turntable it literally plays backwards

if you want to hear this song the way it's meant to be heard then listen to the flip side of this single "everything (& U("

  • @KonFusedKid23 Reverse Engineering and Everything & U are two completely different tracks, they don't relate.

  • @SQUIZZLER24 no mate, it's meant to be played backwards, if you have it on vinyl you put the needle at the end of the cut and the needle spins outward instead of in, meaning the record is playing backwards

if you dont beleive everything & U and reverse engineering are the same track listen to episode 130 of the hospital podcast, the dj uses vinyl turntables and when he plays reverse engineering it sounds exactly the same as everything & U

  • @KonFusedKid23 Yeah, I know about the needle moving out instead of in, I have the vinyl myself. ;)

But if you really think of it, take the beat structure... Reverse it. Now if you think of that structure played that way, it sounds nothing like Everything & U. Plus, reversed or not... Everything & U doesn't have that dark, growly bass sound or the airy, wide sounds we find at the beginning of Reverse Engineering. Not to mention that really quick wooden ticking before the drops.

  • @KonFusedKid23 Oh, also... Check out this video... This is reverse Engineering played Backwars, doesn't sound like Everything & U... :P /watch?v=WFQSuAcN5kI

Everything & U is the flip-side. Different track, which also has the same 'in-to-out' needle movement as the A-side.

  • the track is made forward.. as you would make any other track... but the grooves on the vinyl go the other way, hence the titles name "reverse engineering" the way the track is played is in reverse

  • @zz92

    a

    nooooo

it was made with reversed samples -_-

    its already backwards

  • Fucking hell people, the flip is Everything & U, this is Reverse Engineering.

You wonder why its caled Reverse Engineering, its supposed to sound backwards.

  • It's not meant to be played backwards. The entire point is the use of reversed samples in a straight beat.

  • if you play the sample on boomkat it sounds like this. I don't think the song actually plays backwards, its just the way vinyl has been designed so to plays from inside out.

  • this is wank!! it has gotta be played backwards peeps check out the Hospital Podcast 130 With London Elektricity.. the songs @ 9:45sec slaming track !!

  • @bilko1986 totally agree mate :) listened to it on the podcast and was amazing

  • fuking confuseing fucks, rockwll himself played it like this, so why u lot saying its meant to be played backwards,

  • @iiTRUEJUNGLIST Probably got bored of playing the tune the right way over and over, and decided to play it this way. Or maybe he was drunk and lazy and didn't care, who knows :P

Or maybe you saw a deejay playing with you thinking it was Rockwell when it actually was an other DJ ?

BTW., the tune is made from reversed samples, so if this is the right way of playing the tune it shouldn't sound reversed.

  • you're doing it wrong! start with the needle towards the middle and it moves outwards!

  • Clearly not meant to be played this way. Meant to be played backwards.

  • /watch?v=XIlQh_kfi3Y

This is how it is meant to be lol

Play it backwards.. That is why it is unique

  • Pure filth

  • insane, state of the art right there

  • This song is supposed to be played backwards.....

  • THIS TUNE MUST BE PLAYED BACKWARDS

  • @iCl4ssy ITS NOT MEANT TO PLAYED BACKWARDS FFS THE SONG ITSELF IS MADE WITH REVERSED SAMPLES

HE MADE THIS SONG WITH REVERSED INSTRUMENTS AND SAMPLES U MONG!

  • ahhh ive heard the track that he sampled that guitar from at the start but i cant remember the name for the life of me. TUNE STILL

  • @manfork its from a sample cd

  • This is shit.... sounds like my comp is having a spaz :S

  • i'll go with pile of shit

  • Blows everything out the water, such a divided opinion on this, people are either saying it's the best thing since sliced bread others are saying it's the biggest pile of shit, just shows how truely innovating this track is. This is history in the making, it will be remembered for year's to come, if you can get a vinyl then get it!!!

  • @ChangingCrisis its just so funky! such a deep fat groove!
