  • Whenever my brother and I got sick my mom would put this on (she still does lol) it's so awesome....

  • What a great movie. And David Scott Freeman aka Joey Cramer. He is now in the Seattle, WA area.

I visited several filming location from this movie and recognized most of them although they have changed.

And the Freeman house is not there anymore

  • They changed the robots voice!

  • @Enctypt I know but maybe only for this trailer!

  • Brings back lots of memories. Kids love it.

  • Great movie!

  • Just watched now after all these years, and damn its still as awesome as I remember, I even understood some parts that I didn't get it right when I was a kid! :D

  • They just don't make movies like this anymore. I want to start crying. I feel sorry for the younger crowd that will never experience the 80's & 90's entertainment culture. Somebody get me a Kleenex..

  • So, did that spaceship have a toilet or did the kid just piss his pants?

  • Trailer of the day!

  • omg me n my bff used watch the hell out of this movie she was 8 and i was 10 aww thoose were the days

  • ORIGINAL VOICE WAS MUCH BETTER!!!!

  • this movie sucked just like disneys black hole movie sucked disney should stick with cartoons.

  • @doctorw2 calm the fuck down, its an old movie

  • @Rawr5649 i know that im just saying that it sucked and it still does.

  • This movie was released 25 years ago today, 7/30/11!

  • loved this film when i was 7 in 1991 which was shown on fox 64!

  • What happened to the voice of the robot in this, complete crap, thank god the one i got is way better

  • this and cloak and dagger were the best ones

  • ah, memories.

  • WTF happened to Paul Reuben's voice? This voice totally ruined the trailer now :(

  • Such a great movie that i saw twice in theaters as a kid.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Hey, Leave mac and me alone, it had a dancing ronald mcdonald scene......ummm wait nevermind, continue

  • @TheAltair4

Same here when i was 5 when it came out, do you think the kid in this movie looks like Joey from Making Contact and does this remind you of ET at times?

  • @Johnlindsey289 Yeah, he does kind of look like Joey. This movie reminds me of E.T. as well as Explorers, The Last Starfighter and even The Neverending Story.

  • Wow, I just stumbled across this by accident, it's funny years later that I remember that the voice of the robot was different in the trailer than in the actual movie. You dont hear shit about this movie anymore, funny how things like that happen, this was a blockbuster. This movie, batteries not included, cocoon, etc it's like they never existed.

  • @troy12n indeed there were so many sci films in the Eighties, mostly for kids and families, and others like,Enemy Mine for adults.

  • I was adiccted to this film as a kid. I watched it on t.v. a lot and rented it a few times. Great film. Totally pwns E.T. and Last Starfighter. That film should so be redone in 3D.

  • Awesome, man i loved the 80s as a kid,so much imagination, now kids have anything and everything and cant dream or imagine, not the same.

  • This was and is such a great movie. I have it on my top shelf along with my other favorites. As an adult it has a lot of deep themes and emotional implications of the parents loss, reunion, the brothers changing places, the scientists conflict between studying a goldmine versus giving a child his life back, etc. Plus as people have said, for its time the special effects are mind blowing. In my top five for sure.

  • damn i thought i would never find this movie.............I thought it was that fred savage movie called the boy who could fly......... That was okay but this one....... wow...... as a kid the imaginative theme was awesome

  • Paul Reubens, (PEE WEE HERMAN) did the final voice for the ship/robot in the movie.. SO good

  • omg i LOVE this movie. it ws one of the best movies made ever

  • classic from my childhood

  • 23 years and still liking it..

  • I seen this movie when i was young .. and lookt it numbers of times .. stil like it

  • that was NOT the voice they used in the movie for the voice of the robot!!!

  • IVE SEEN THIS WHEN I WAS 7 AND HAD BEEN MY FAVORITE SINCE. IM 27 NOW BTW

  • I would like to see this movie. The old Disney movies are way better then Hannah Montana or other crap. :|

  • @Peachcolourful classic film loved it when i was 7 seen this film so many times that i even remember the plot!

  • does ne one know what the music is from at 0 : 55?

  • @brandondylan23 i have the cd if you need it message me

  • I bet if Disney did a remake to this movie it would be awesome.

  • @VenisRoxas they are remaking the film it is suppose to come out next year read wikipedia website for more info i loved this film when i was 7 years old in 1991 and i am shocked that they are remaking this!

  • @only257 I agree, there is no need to remake this. This is a great movie, and has one of the best time travel sequences.

  • It's been ages since I saw this one. For the longest time I forgot it's name until i ran into an 80s sci fi collection list.

  • Remember Sarah Jessica Parker in this?!

  • pee wee herman was the voice of the robot , dont know who the guy in this ad was

  • OMG !! i watch this movie when i was 8 BEST MOVIE EVER !!!

  • It was Pee-Wee Herman, Paul Reubens doing the voice. He was billed as 'Paul Mall' or somesuch...

  • This movie sucks balls. Even when I was 8 years old I thought it sucked. The Neverending Story was way better. However, it is not quite as bad as that "Mac and Me" movie that was probably the worst pile of deuce ever made.

  • @alasdairgillis I think you mean "BigMac and Me" or the more accurate "BigMac and Coke and Coke and Coke and Me"

  • i remembered watching this when i was a kid.... not sure if this was the movie where when he returned home, he found out his brother, who wears glasses, grew up hence looked older than him.

  • What a beautiful film - real classic from the 80s. I enjoyed Flight of the Navigator more than E.T. Joey Cramer showed brilliant acting. I loved character Max and his sense of humour. It was great to see amazing and so talented Veronica Cartwright.

    I miss the 80s.

  • i was nine when i watched this....im 32 now hehehe

  • @fluidityxt I am now 33 and wrote this movie when I was a kid!

    How old was I?

  • man i remeber i watched this movie when i was like 8 that was 10yrs ago i been looking for this movie i loved it when i was a kid & still do

  • oh my god...I´m from spain and I remember that I watched this movie when I was 5 or 6... now im 23 and im at least 10 years looking for the title of this movie cause I only remembered some scenes and I wanted to know the title. After watch the first scene I knew it was the movie I saw when I was a kid...

  • I enjoyed this movie as a kid!

  • I loved this movie as a kid

  • Why oh Why does Hollywood have to mess with great classic like this. Is there any original thought and creativity anymore. Next thing you know they'll be remaking Rocketeer starring one of the Jonah's brothers.

  • @jayce79 Well Zac Efron is going to be new Marty Mcfly in the "Back to the Future," remake. But yeah, I see what you mean

  • @RaikenXion

What!!!!? Back to the Future REMAKE??? I hate to sound like a typical negative nancy here , but has Hollywood totally lost it?

  • @jayce79 You'd be right in saying they totally have Lost it. Remakes are the rage now, everyones nostalgic today, because there are no New Ideas, everything's been done. We're in the 2000s now, at the end of the Calender.

  • @RaikenXion

Well in essence , there really nothing wrong with Nastalgia or even a remake , that really screams for a great remake. But except for a few projects and filmakers , Unholy - hollywood has just jumped the shark in my opinion. Hopefully one day we can get back on track. I hate to be negative and blacklashing. I mean why in the world does this movie need a remake instead of a great sudo-sequel like Neverending Story or Terminator 2 or so on? Just Why?

  • @jayce79 Im not saying theres nothing wrong with Nostalgia. Im saying thats partly the reason why Hollywood do re-makes, Its like everone says classic one-liners from the A-Team, so Hollywood thinks yeah, lets bring that back. Thats kinda how it seems. I myself dont mind remakes. As long as they have more or less the same Look and feel. But if they change it too much, its not the same, and just fails new "Knight Rider," perfect example.

  • @RaikenXion

Oh , Indeed , Knightrider is a great example of a hit 80's show that just can't be recreated. Not like people want really. And not with the same hokey fun and tounge 'n' cheek one liner's that original had. But even that is a classic television show to the screen , not exactley the same thing , but not that much better than what were talking about. It just seems about 85% of Hollywood has just become so genairic and have lost all the original creativity.

  • @jayce79 Im just trying to read over what you've said that makes sense. I think you're missing my point here, or maybe I need to make it clearer. In terms of re-makes and lets just stay on "Knightrider" for a moment, I like to think that its possible to blend abit of both, obviously drop all that (as you've said) "hokey fun" and "Tounge 'n' cheek" humor, obviously this era is witty today, and the styles, but surley keep the Look of the car at least, just sharpen up the design alittle bit.

  • @jayce79 I mean everything seems bout Sex, stylish, and relationships today, thats total mainstream, and all thats in the new Knightrider, still hasnt helped the series. Even the Hoff himself walked away from it (I know he's only in the what was it pilot?) I mean thats a sign there that he wasnt liking what they were doing with it. If he was really optimistic bout the revival series, he'd have had more involvement in it.

  • @RaikenXion You are right - they only make shows about relationships, sex. Oh and dont forget vampires. What's up with that? Whatever happened to the good ideas in Hollywood. I think you , me, and other 80's children could write a better show or movie.

Oh and Chuck? Gimme a break. Then they cancel Flash Forward!! Least they kept V

  • @tellurye Thanks I wish Hollywood, wud listen to us fans more. Yeah I like V, its nearly as good as the original. Nice talking with you

  • @jayce79 At the same time your right, Knightrider is one of those shows that belongs in the 80s, I mean the Idea of a talking, technological car back then worked, because the 80s, you had computers, and stuff that basically just looked naff, but then they thought it was cool. Not saying "Kitt" was shit, but just the whole sci-fi thing, robots, and space. So guess that Idea worked then.

  • @jayce79 Today, people arent bothered bout if a car can talk or have technological gadgets, but more performance type stuff, alloy breaks, and whats in the engine, and if it has a good sound system. Hollywood will keep making money from remakes and revivals, cus they know thats where the money is, they will always follow the consumer. And because yeah, nobodies passionate about an idea anymore.

  • Yep.

  • OMG Mac and Me i Loved this Movie!

  • this is a great movie!!!!!! different voice though im sure

  • i actually have a prop from the movie, one of the steps for the ship, i was wondering if its actually worth something?

  • no...it's worth shit.

  • o my jesus. i forgot this movie ever existed.

  • There is a reason you forgot that this movie ever existed.

  • The Voice Don LaFontaine Forever

  • Nobody get mad at me, please. To those who don't know, Disney is remaking

Flight of The Navigator. Probably with

one of those Disney Channel brats.

    Insert your comments below this.

  • David Freeman... Gordon Freemans great grandfather.

  • This robot voice was AWFULLLL! The one they used was so much better!

  • @matt484991

LOL only just seen this even though I have seen the film like 20 times now.

Am glad they did not use the voice from this clip.

  • didnt that little furry alien get killed in the movie?

  • This is like the first Disney movie to use curse words. The grown up version of the little brother said 'shit' at one point and we were all blown away.

  • Wow, you're cool. I'll bet you have lots of friends!

  • great movie

seen it when i whas just a kid

  • I'm glad they dubbed in Pee Wee's voice. It was MUCH better.

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaa

    superb movie!!!!

  • Only just seen this 'trailer' for the film. Max's voice in this is different to in the final release. Better one's in the final =)

    Love the film

  • Just noticed that too. Would have ruined the movie if they went with this voice.

  • best movie ever!

  • I remember watching thismovie while high on magic mushrooms! what a trip LOL

  • That didn't sound like Paul Reubens.

  • Is this the movie where that big eye says"I Yie Yie Yie"-so funny

  • Had this movie and wore the shit outa the tape. Still amazing movie! Top notch!

  • they realy need to remake this :p

  • Jesus- my kid brothers' never even seen Goonies FFS- how are they even gonna grow? lol

  • 'Compliance'!

  • I cant wait for this to come out...

  • this is no disney u moron ..get the info!

  • I saw this in the theater and still dig it today. I wish I had a time machine.

  • Still one of my favorite movies to this day...sara parker was smokin hott!!

  • I'm a freshman in college now, and I've loved this movie all my life. But, you never hear anything about it these days. I looked it up on wikipedia, and it says it only grossed like $18 million in theaters. Why didn't this movie do very well? It's amazing, especially for its time. The spaceship in it looks more convincing than some of the spaceships or other special effects even in some of today's movies!

  • @baconpie2112 'only grossed like $18 million in theaters. Why didn't this movie do very well?' Well, dont forget the time period - over 20 yrs ago. 18 million was probably worth more back then. I found a neat calculator that said 18 million then is equiv to over $35 million today.

You are right tho, this movie rocked. They dont make them like this anymore. Though the A-Team movie looks neat...

  • @baconpie2112 I didn't even hear about this movie until I stumbled upon it at work. I work at an Apple repair shop and I had to test if this Macbook I had fixed would play a DVD, I saw this DVD from a Newspaper and I put it in, I had to watch it for about 5 mins then I was gonna eject it cause I was thinking "ok good, it works...hey...this is...pretty good" and I watched the entire movie at work in secret, great film :D

  • @baconpie2112 I saw this at the theatre, everyone loved it!

  • OH MY GOD!!!! This was my FAVE movie growing up ..... this and The Goonies hahaha. I allways called it "Fright of the Alligator" coz I couldnt say it, and I wanted the little alien as a pet! lol

  • The voice of the droid , in the movie, was Paul Reuban (Pee Wee Herman)... who the heck is voicing it in this preview?

  • yea man i was just thinking that the guy voicing the droid in the preview sounds awful compard with pee wee herman

  • and oh yeah! Sara Lee Parker was in that movie too! She had a pink strip hair going on too!!! lol!

  • yeah I remember that movie.. me and my brothers used to watch that when we were young. I was in the 1st grade when that came out I think.

  • Great movie. "Hey blimpo, oink, oink, too many twinkies, huh huh!" I loved that Pee Wee Herman voice.

  • One of those great movies from my childhood. Own it on DVD, actually watching it right now.

  • I remember this, I used to watch it on the Disney channel growing up in the late 90's(You know, back when disney actually showed movies!)

  • Just in case anyone was interested (I know I was!) what the song playing at :48 is, it's 'Finally Found A Home' by Huey Lewis & The News. Of course it wasn't in the actual film itself! Just a little bit of trivia for ya!

  • great movie growing up. one of th vary best!!

  • i have this movie on tape SO LONG AGO =D freaking love it

  • childhood favorite

  • loved this film as a kid, got it on dvd now.

  • best childhood movie ever!

  • Ya once he absorbed some of the kid's knowledge he became more human-like! He was actually very funny!

  • I liked the Pee-Wee Herman voice they used in the actual movie better!Such a good movie one of my very favorites!

  • Just saw this on the Hallmark Channel. Awesome movie!

  • YEah.. Max's voice changed.. THat was still a badass movie!! I loved it!

  • the voice changed from the voice you dont recognise, to peewee herman's voice once he learned the kids knowledge

  • boy that movie sucked. I was watching stuff like Friday 13 when I was 5.

  • I remember the voice of max being different!?

  • This is when trailers and voices did not HAVE to match. Its happend in many early trailers and even sometimes today.

  • I wasn't born during that time but I remember renting the video on VHS when I was about 3years old.

Man this is a really good movie.

  • cool

  • no Pee Wee Herman? ...hurman? eh
