So years ago at the prom Pacey ruined it for Joey by saying awful things to her and breaking up with her knowing she needed to go live her life and figure things out on her own without him.
Fast forward, Joey gets to return the favor and ruin Pacey's night at the dance. Eddie was just an excuse not to take a chance on Pacey - this way she gets to keep running, but thankfully she finally figures it out in the end.
OK, on the Joey hate comments. You guys have definitely lost your hold on reality. This its TV people. And in reality it was badly written, as badly written as every break up on this show ever was because they just needed to write drama. It's a dramatic TV show. Watch it to be entertained not to feel good about what is missing in your own life and fill the void with some kind of emotion, resorting to the easy road of hating on TV show characters through Youtube posts. Are you serious?
When Joey is talking about boys being disappointed because they think their going to have sex after a dance well Pacey got to have sex with you before the prom Joey so what are you saying exacly?? lol :)

@qwertyDSESASCM1 I think that members of the audience lose their objectivity just like the characters about whom they care so much. We may have wanted for Pacey and Joey to be together right at this moment because it is what we wanted for them. The reality was that they needed time apart from each other so they could put their pasts behind them. People who care for each other like these two will tend to find their way back to each other.
i love PJ to together. Pace is so cute he loves her so much i dont think i have ever seen that before and for him to stick with that feel, never seen that either They are meant for eachother and anyone that is for DJ or PA i dont understand i really dont. i used to be a DJ and a PA shipper but as soon as season three hit with them on the dock i was just like omg so much chemistry they r gonna fall in love and i love that they r... this is going to be a great season
this whole thong threw me for a loop she just changed her feelings for Pacey in one episode didnt make much sense. Pacey broke up with Joey because of his insecurities its just like in season 4 when Joey and Dawson kissed that seemed like a way just to get bigger ratings
I hated her too, but I think she was confused with the coming back of Eddie, afraid...of trying with Pacey again and let Eddie go away without trying with him. Well...we all know she ends up suffering once more with Eddie and that being with Pacey wich is totally meant to be. :)
but still I cannot believe she'll get a second chance. I mean I know when Pacey broke up with her he ripped her heart out but he did it for reasons that are obvious by now and she is doing it for a guy she barely knows. Because lets face it she knows Pacey longer and she seemed more in love with him than with Eddie
Because he loves her so much, and he screwed up so many times in his life, that he, more than anyone else, understands what is like to do so. And, actually, not knowing Eddie for as long as Pacey it's actually a good point of Eddie in her point of view. She's tired of those relationships with people who knows her since she was a kid.
Pacy can do better than her, she is so dramatic I know its a show but there are women like her
