Akira is a egotistical, vain, jealous, pain in the ass little bitch....but that is whats go awesome about her. The show wouldn't be half as funny if she was just a cute little girl who behaved like an angel. She is what makes Minoru so lovable because he deal with her shit, and it's funny to watch how he copes with some problems she causes "Whoa it went flying!" is an example.
All in all, maybe some of you hate her for being a bitch; but if it wasn't for her you wouldn't like Minoru as much.
Or it MIGHT simply be exactly what he says it was. But Akira, being the classic example of a narcisisst, just ASSUMES it's about her. She thinks EVERYTHING is about HER.
It's highly likely that her constant abuse of Shiraishi may have made her paranoid about the possibility of retaliation from him. There might be some twisted element of guilt at play here. Akira's suspicious tone implies she thinks he could be saying negative things about her.
