I love how they can't tell what Hideyoshi's gender is bc when they list name and their score also shows gender but when they show Hideyoshi's it gives a green text rather than the pink or blue symbols that are to tell what gender the person is. who else notices that too?

They used to take about 2 years to localize/release a US version of anime series. I guess I've been living under a rock for a while since I just found out about this a couple of days ago. I've already pre-ordered this. I'm happy that companies are willing to release blu-ray versions of anime here in the US. The packaging for this also looks really nice. It really makes you want to get it over the regular ones. Spice and Wolf (both seasons) is next.

See the dub can be good if expect it to sound different as you watch it, without instantly comparing it to the Japanese audio just because it exists. I'm beginning to think that many fans criticize dubs because they intentionally keep a fresh memory of how a show sounded in Japanese, right before watching it in english, expecting it to sound similar and ALL it does is it makes fans unable to appreciate a dub in it's own merit.

your theory might be right in a vague sense, since many fans do criticized dubs but not based on sound memory, but instead of how the character was portrait with the voice, sometimes funimation fails at doing this, creating conflicts with hearth-fans and new fans

@theCriticX3: While I get Himeji doesn't sound as airheaded in an exaggerated way (which I STILL think is a sound memory thing if you'd need to recall the Japanese track very well to even make that criticism in the first place), I honestly don't buy into the "dubs can likely character portrayal," thing because I could put the show on mute and I would STILL be able to tell that Himeji is supposedly the most attractive girl in the class that seems innocent and caring.

@bekythebekster: Well after a while, it gets annoying. And I'm not asking that fans think every dub is amazing or even better or worse than the Japanese audio. My issue is if a fan of an anime in Japanese, finds out that the show is licensed and will be dubbed and they're SO worried about whether or not they'll like the dub, then they need to somehow learn that another version/interpretation of a dub will ALWAYS be fairly different and NOT expect it to be EXACTLY as they imagined in their head.

They did that in the original too, so don't get on the dub crew for that. Maybe they have to say that they're summoning it, to actually summon it. Since a teacher is watching they probably have to announce that stuff. Don't get so butthurt over something so simple.

In Japanese it is still redundant and would be that way to a native/fluent speaker. Same as it is for us with English. There is no difference there. All they did was take the already redundant statements and put them in English. It's just more noticeable to us NOW because it is in our native language.
