  • lyrics are easier to understand through speakers XD

    \m/- O V O -\m/

  • 1:48 - 2:15 = covered in chills

  • @XDETHpianist Yeah, me too.

I love this song so much. And the story behind it is beyond epic

  • 3:37

  • I literally got shivers =)

  • @gambino1545

Your parents are probably equally as disappointed if that's the case.

  • @IannnSimmons i dont know what that is suppose to mean ???....but tolkien would either laugh or cring at blind guardian ...i love tolkien...but this ????....ugh...painful

  • I'm sure Feanor kicked himself after forging the Silmarillion. Not ONLY that, but he made the Palantiri, too. He just handed powerful artifacts over to the enemies of Middle Earth! Jeez.

  • ONE OF THE BEST GONNA SEARCH THIS ALBUM

  • Tolkien = GOD.

Blind Guardian = his heavenly chorus.

  • ma favourite

  • Awesome song! Feanor is one of my favorite characters in Tolkien's works and this song hits pretty dead on to the feel of the character.

  • Feanor was too metal for the Valar.

  • @Falor5151 Best comment evarrr...

  • @Falor5151 This may be the greatest thing anyone has ever said...and accurate, too. XD

  • @Falor5151 YESSS! i really respect this comment because its so true unsweyed by morigoth yet powerful in heart....Faenor is metal and he creates the light of the rock

  • Feanor was the most badass elf ever

  • One of,if not the most, badass power metal songs of all time

  • Very good job , but the lirics becomes a little latter.. they must apears 0,5 second before

  • "Morgoth!" I cried "Hear my oath! I will take part IN YOUR DAMNED FATE!!!!"

the most epic song for the most epic part of the Sillmarillion, A match so righteous you can't help but shout!

  • i like so much this song i listen it every day.

Feanor was the greatest of iluvatar's child. His own 7 son were not the half of him.

  • @MArtthcanadian I think it's fairly clear that his older two sons, Maglor and Maedhros were pretty hardcore. They'd make Gil-Galad look like a lost puppy. ;)

  • Damn I have to read the Silmarillion.

  • I'm not sure if I should feel bad for Feanor or not...especially after killing a lot of the Teleri and then leaving Fingolfin behind to go through the frozen wastes on foot...

  • the people who disliked this surely are orcs of morgoth.

  • Epic!

  • Holy fuck that intro is sick

  • nightfall in middle earth maybe is the best album ever created. and the blind guardian are not my favorite group.

    tolkien + epic metal =...... can't describe

  • @WenGlen2 Best _album_ created? No, Nightfall in Middle Earth is the pinnacle of achievement across all spheres of human endeavor. The Apollo program engineers and the Giza pyramid builders had to bow to the ultimate demonstration of supreme mastery.

  • @zapitron This is probably the best comment I've seen on YouTube.

  • Comment removed

  • i lose control at 3:24

  • Which album is this song from?

  • @helmetprod93

    Nightfall in Middle Earth

  • @ew913 Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for it if I see it at a retailer.

  • mejor aprende aponer lirycs

    lo demas estachingooooon

  • Blind guardian rocks one of them top 10 musics!

  • Totally right my friend!

  • One of the BEST songs they never do live. Which is a damned shame.

  • @brnleague99 i've them live in 2006 and they played it live :-)

  • @lekanter They did? Fucking righteous.

  • Well, I have to admit that Fingolfin was the best elf ever lived... He followed his brother, although they didn't have the best relationship. He didn't return to Arda when Feanor burned the ships but lead his people through the ice in order to reach where Feanor was and he pushed Morgoth back to Angband. Finally, he challenged Morgoth alone and he managed to injure a god seven times before he died...

  • @eimaiokalyteros Finarfin really imo

  • @eimaiokalyteros well Fingolfin was incredible, but Feanor was the best craftsman ever, the best "politic" that existed in tolkien's universe and the most powerfull Noldor ever, for sure he would have defeated Melkor in a 1vs1, Melkor himself feared and hated Feanor. And his determination was incomparable. And after the Dagor Dagorath it will be thanks to him that the light will return.

  • If Feanor, Fingolfin and the rest were in the Lord of the Rings, Sauron would be so screwed ... but as it is, they had to leave the fate of the world to four hairy-footed midget peoples. Errr .... yeah xD

  • just got Nightfall In Middle-Earth....Best CD ever!!! I can't stop listeneing to this song!

  • epic

  • morgoth makes sauron look like a kitty

  • @jouzinka No, never. There's no comparison between a Green Elf and a Noldor. The Noldor are pretty much the toughest. After all, they're the kinslayers AND they went up against Morgoth. I was just saying, Legolas was probably at least slightly tougher in the books than the movies.

  • @faeriemama2007 I agree that Legolas of the books was different. Funny how two people can have different viewpoints of the same thing, though. =:) I see the whole madness about the quest for the Silmarils as a legacy of one man who mastered propaganda and psychology, who could get people on his side and who had a bit of 'luck' when the time came. Imagine Fingon and Fingolfin arriving in time to Alqualondë to witness the scene with the ships. No Kinslaying. More likely they'd kill Fëanor. =:)

  • DOON'T FEEARR THE EEYES.......................

  • omg when I made the comment about Feanor being in fact not rly a gr8 warrior, but a gr8 craftsman, wouldnt imagine it would bring up so many replies / comments stating the same xD

  • That txt fx at 3:23 don't do that again, Almost impossible to read.

    Great song tho.

  • This song is exciting. (Y)

  • I look at Legolas , and then I look at Feanor , the Noldor were really bad-asses in comparison to later elves , can you imagine Feanor , Fingolfin and Turgon going against Sauron , he would shit his metal pants :)))))))))

  • Comment removed

  • @Lazovic87 THe nine sons of Feanor would stand by their father's side as well. And with Turgon would come the champions Ecthelion and Glorfindel!

  • Comment removed

  • @Closetscholar Yea Ecthelion , after Feanor and Finrod my favorite elf . And when you in that mixture add Beren insted of Aragorn , Lort would end up a very short book :))))

  • @Closetscholar ...Feanor sons were seven...

  • @gnagno3000 And you sir are correct.

  • @gnagno3000 Six, not seven

  • @Kkayman666 I just finished the Silmarillion, i mean last week so... i think i remember it pretty well... anyways they're Maedhros, the first one.

Maglor: the good singer, the last one which dies with Maedhros.

Celegorm and Curufin, the 2 who tried to kill Beren and Luthien

Caranthir which died during the war of doriath against Dior, the son of Thingol

Amrod and Amras are considered the 2 best hunters of the noldor elves.

    that's all :D

  • @gnagno3000 maglor doesn't die. he just throws his silmaril in the ocean and then wanders along the coast, lamenting his loss and pain.

  • @Lazovic87 The question is, are you picturing Legolas as JRR Tolkien intended or as Orlando Bloom portrayed him? Because something tells me those are two very different depictions of Legolas.

  • @faeriemama2007 not really ... Legolas was shown as a ... either ways, the Sindars are nothing compared to the Noldors!

  • @faeriemama2007 I think that the only Elf that appeared in the movies and followed what Tolkien pictured was Haldir. By the time we meet Elrond, he's faded. I'm thinking whether Legolas and the Mirkwood Elves had something in common with the Green Elves - they WERE different. And Celeborn wedded Galadriel, who was very exceptional, so I suppose she could hardly marry the usual run of an Elf. =:( I'm having a hard time putting a "=" between Legolas and Fingolfin, no matter how hard I try. =:(((

  • @faeriemama2007 Actually I was thinking about all the later elves , Elrond , Legolas and others , when you compare them to Noldor such as Feanor , Turgon or even Galadriela(she scares me even in book:)) ) you see how the elves have degraded , i mean Feanor and the others went after Morgoth , the most powerful being i Arda , this must count as something :)))

  • @Lazovic87 ... I think you are comparing incomparable. Plus I think you're forgetting The Last Alliance. They already *did* raise their arms against Sauron. The Siege of Barad-dûr lasted for 7 years, countless lives were lost... and Isildur kept the Ring. Now if I were Elrond, having had lost my wife because of that particular mishap and knowing I would soon sail to Valinor to be reunited with her, I don't think I'd be oh-so-keen to get out there and have my bones broken. =:)))

  • @jouzinka Yea but who lead the Last Alliance , Gil-Galad High King of Noldor , if it wasn't for him it wouldn't even exist . I you have to give it to Feanor , it wasn't easy fighting a pack of Balrogs and getting killed just because the Gothmog showed up :)))))))) And it didn't stop Fingolfin to ride alone to the gates of Angband to fight Morgot even when he knew he couldn't be victorious :))))))

  • @Lazovic87 Yeah, on another note, who was supposed to lead the Alliance if not the highest King of them all? The hiearchy works here - I'm sure Gil-Galad would have the head of anyone who'd try to go over his head on a platter.

  • @jouzinka If I were Elrond, I'd have pushed Isildur into Mt Doom and solved the problem altogether xD

  • @retrothefox Thus betraying your own brother. =:(

What a way to end a line of utter handsomeness I could drool over to death. =:P

Would be interesting to see what end things would take, though. What other evil would surface. =:)

  • @jouzinka Heh heh, indeed ... but it would have been very cost effective xD

  • @retrothefox In a way I don't think so. All the high kings dead = no reign over Gondor or Arnor for that matter. It would only be a matter of time before someone would want it and wage another war for the land, even if it were the clans between one another. Who knows how long would peace stay in M-E. It could be become even more costly to destroy the Ring with Isildur at that particular point in history.

  • @Lazovic87

Galadriel was alive and took part in the War against Morgoth. That said, Tolkien DID say that even she had waned over the years.

  • @Lazovic87 TOTALLY!!!! :D :D :D

    I knew sane people still existed! :D :D :D

  • @lonnalonna Why thank you , I just gave mu picture of things :)))) but tnx again

  • @Lazovic87 Since Fingolfin could do all that damage against Melcor, Sauron would surely find a problem there.... :)

  • @Lazovic87 well the noldor were of the high kindred and had seen the light of the two trees. unlike sundered elves of middle earth like the grey and wood elves like Legolas. Aslso the noldor in paticular were known for having the greatist knoledge and were the greatist craftsmen coming close to riviling the dwarves.

  • @Lazovic87 i believe only feanor would be enough for sauron to piss his pants!!!

  • @Lazovic87 If Gothmog wouldn't killed feanor and not only sauron but Melkor too would shit in their metal pants

  • @Lazovic87 technically, didn't they go against sauron? sauron was melkor's underling; his chief lieutenant;

''In that war, Sauron served as Morgoth's chief lieutenant, surpassing all others in rank, such as Gothmog, the Lord of Balrogs. Known as Gorthaur the Cruel, Sauron was at that time a master of illusions and shapeshifting; werewolves and vampires were his servants, chief among them Draugluin, Father of Werewolves, and his vampire herald Thuringwethil.''

  • @Yarwer Yea but that wasn't my point . My point was to make a difference between Noldors and later elves , and the only one who went directly against Sauron in those days was Finrod :))

  • @Lazovic87 Well, they needed Gil-galad, Elendil, the tallest of all men, Isildur and a lot of luck to take Sauron down.

  • @MrCoudi All they need from man is Beren :)))))

  • @Lazovic87

    What about Túrin and Beren?

Túrin would have soloed Saruons hole army with Gurthang hehe :P

  • @Lazovic87 it's just needed one of the three.... feanor i think it's enough :P

  • @Lazovic87 sauron was morgoths lietenant, he did have those elves come at him, and did shit himself :3

  • @Lazovic87 legolas was not a noldor, he was a syndar

  • @jebimsezovem Wheel yea , im making a comparison between them :)

  • @Lazovic87 sry i could not tell, in my opinion more movies should be made on the tolken books thematics

  • @jebimsezovem Yea but except for Hobbit no other film could be made because of ownership issue , its too complicated

  • @Lazovic87 Eh, not really. Only Fingolfin would've had a fighting chance. I can't remember Turgon, but Feanor has an entire history of horrible judgement. Sauron would've simply surrendered, then pulled a Numenor.

  • @LordMortanius Except that Feanor had no mercy for servants of Morgoth. Sauron would not have been able to satiate his rage, he would've destroyed Sauron mockingly.

  • @Lazovic87 He did, Fingolfin had to wait and call him several times before he decided to get out of Angband and confront him.

  • @RaphaelZephyr You are thinking of Morgot , not Sauron :))

  • @Lazovic87 You're right! My bad..

  • @RaphaelZephyr Still kinda proves the point, though. If Sauron's boss was afraid of just one of those guys (and suffered crippling injuries to boot) there's no way Sauron could stand before all three and live.

  • @Lazovic87

Feanor was by far, the most badass non-Vala warrior of Arda!

  • I think Sauron would of been able to corrupt Feanor, being so filled with greed and hate.

  • I dont know shit about lord of the rings or hobbits. But this album is the greatest metal album evr

  • tolkien + blind guardian = awesome.

  • Feanor: One of the world's few legitimately awesome elves.

  • Noldor are the best!

  • I will take part in your damn fate!

  • Brilliant lyrics from an amazing inspiration!

  • sadly ive never read the silmarillion, but i think im gonna do that now

  • 20 people thumb down this song... the shadow of morgoth occupied their mind?

  • @Gundoldingen now 21 :(

  • @Gundoldingen there's 21 motherfucker of Ulfang's kin.

  • really great song!

  • Finglolfin---> Biggest Fighter

  • Indeed! And about Filngolfin too his brother!!!

  • I hate rock...but this song very beautifull!!!!i love this song very much!!=)

    Hello From Ukraine !!!=))

  • Though Fingolfin is my favorite among all the Elves, I've always liked Fëanor. For he did a lot of mistakes, he misused his "fire", that's true, but he had a complex and conflicting personality: I find that interesting, and sometimes maybe attracting.

  • No your all wrong choosing the mightiest elf!! To me it's obvious that Luthien really was the mightiest elf: She stunned Morgoth and all his army by singing, stunned Carcharoth at the gates of Thangorodrim etc..

  • @sacredheart91 But she wasn't exactly a fullblooded elf. She was half-elf. Her mother was Maia, a god-like creature

  • i totally agree with u mate can

  • Fingolfin is the best elf!

  • Feanor was badass, the Valar preferred to stay at their land and leave the rest to rot, not to mention their authoritarian ways. They couldn't properly protect their own creations and children and yet they felt offended by an extremist that wanted to see the back of the bad guy... I believe Silmarillion is full of this injustice. The Valar said "NOOO no humans in our land", but instead of helping them deal with the enemy they left them to rot in the east.

  • Yes feanor was a proud murderer, but he still deserve all our respect, he was brave and never gave up or took his eyes from his objective, how many of us can say that plus he made the silmarils and this is something to be proud of

  • Awesome song-- but what exactly is the lore in the lyrics from?

  • @Narutosage111 The Silmarillion. The history of the Elves of Middle Earth before Lord of the Rings

  • @Ryan2142 Thanks man :)

  • 20 youtube-user missed the "like it"-Button... sad...

  • @alahadakovic " All what he had done is start hundreds and hundreds of years ongoing war in wich tousands of elves and humans were killed" is not true. Morgoth started the war. As Eowyn said to the master of the Houses of Healing (to paraphrase, as I do not have the book in front of me) "Even those who don't own a sword may die by one". The same is true for war

  • @mikelandrich Indeed, but who is to say that Feanor wasn't playing right into Melkor's plans? Sure, killing the trees may have been just to spite his Valar brethren and their simpering Maiar servants, but he took the Silmarils for a reason; to provoke Feanor and his kin. Divide and conquer. Especially where relations of Elves and Men are concerned.

  • @TheKNH86 That's all too obvious. It's mentioned over and over that Melkor's lies still influenced Feanor even when he knew that Morgoth was the enemy. The whole point was that his lies were so strong they still had power even then. But I don't think he took the Silmarils just to divide the elves. He wanted those fuckers bad just out of wanting everything, especially something like they were.

  • @TheKNH86 You are wrong. Morgoth took the Silmarils to spite the other Valar, primarily Yavanna, and because he desired to deprive the world of all that was beautiful. Dividing Elves and Men? Where do you get that? First and foremost, the Eldar remaining in Valinor would be more beneficial to him than them returning to Middle Earth. Secondly, even Morgoth knew not when Men would awaken.

  • lol i look on these comments to all these comments of this thing everyone seems to know about. I just love their music :)

  • feanor was smart and relntless he did what he bealive was right and he didt on a beautifull way the most poetic of all heroes in middle earth , but lets dont forget fingolfin,...

  • Coused Feanor! May he remain in ashe.

Everytime I read the Silmarillion i feel mad about him.

He brought evil over all Noldor...

    but good song though^^

  • @megadeathman101 feanor, morgroth, balrogs are part of the world tha J.R.R Tolkien created through his books "The Silmalirion", a book that talks about the creation of the world and the ages before the 3rd age that takes place the Lord of the Rings. Its like the bible. For example Feanor is an noldor elven king, morgroth is like the "Devil" and balrogs are his strongest servants

  • Feanor, fingolfin, turing they all have a lot in common but the most common thing is that they were all NOLDOR ELVES they all had the spirit of Noldor isnide them that led them to do all these things. Tolkien is a genius guys i would gladly exchange my life for a life in Arda even if i had to be a slave, i would have been a happy to serve one of the noldor kings.

Thank you Blind Guardian for this awsome song.

  • This song is ridiculously catchy! That chorus makes me smile every time. Then theres that riff, you know the one! so good...

Ive never read the similireon (dont even know to spell it) but this album is some thing else

  • who r these ppl ur takin about? feanor, balrog , morgoth?

  • @megadethman101 Feanor was the greatest of the elves in Tolkien's Silmarillion. The Balrogs were big firery critters who were among the baddest of bad in early middle earth. And Morgoth was THE baddest of the bad, worse than Sauron by a long shot.

  • @TheJokinly Sauron was actually a servant of Morgoth, we can't imagine Morgoth's powers.

  • @N7ghty My point exactly. There's no one worse than Morgoth.

Which goes to show the might of the blood of Feanor, if one of his kin wounded him.

  • @megadethman101 All they are characters of the book The Silmarillion of J.R.R. Tolkien, book where it based the album of Blind guardian "A nightfall in the middle-earth"

  • we must kill those 18 who are not worthy of this song

  • It's the first composition, which introduced me to heavier music! Still one of my favourites!

  • Feanor is cool, but I've gotta say my favorite is Fingolfin. He had enough balls to take Morgoth on in single combat. Even though he lost, engaging Morgoth gives you many man points.

  • @cannibalcorpse135 As I remember, Feanor in his rage would have done too, only Morgoth was such a chicken, he sent his Balrogs instead.

  • definitely this is the best blind guardian's album !!!!! great band , great book and great character !!!! hail to Feanor and hail blind guardian !!!!!

  • 19 idiots who can't understand that these lyrics and this song is beyond their understanding. THUMBS UP! BLIND GUARDIAN FOREVER!!!

  • I always like a Feanor alot. Alot like Railin he is a very interesting and complex chaartaer only he is a gagillion times better.

  • Anyone who dislikes this song must be a huge emofaggot or daddy Gaga cultist.

  • Feanor was badass but the most awesome Noldor prince IMO will always be Finrod Felagund.

  • EPIC REALY EPIC MUSIC AND LYRCS GENIAL MIX!!!

  • IMO Feanor is overrated in this song. Yes, he was strong, and was my favouite character when I started reading the Silmarilion, but he starts to get ridiculous and does loads of arrogant and bad actions. He killed his elven brothers and then died ridiculously facing balrogs, when fingolfin faced morgoth itself.

Also, he wasn't even a super duder strong warrior, sorry to disapoint you all, but he was an excelent blacksmith, not a great warrior.´

Turin Turambar rocks the place up

  • @JRMR7

    i second that

  • @JRMR7 Yes that's it though. He wasn't a warrior, yet he gave the balrogs a run for their money and led an entire people to another land in the most fiercest conditions and Morgoth himslef feared this 'black-smith.' Feanor's spirit was so fiery that when he dies his own body couldn't take it any more and turned to ash. That's why he rocks. He was an underdog that made history and shaped the world of Tolkien single handedly.

  • @grobo11 IMO feanör was strong, fierce, powerfull, but unwise.

Anyway, although I like many epic characters like Turin, Aragorn, etc, from all the LOTR saga, my favourite one is, without doubt: Sam Gamgee

For the way he was loyal to Frodo, the way he helped him, even sacrifising himself for him sometimes.

He showed his bravery battling the spider and he has a very strong heart

This may sound fag, but a true lotro fan knows what Im talking about

  • @JRMR7 Yeah, I can understand where you're comming from, how Sam and Frodo were more like comrades rather than companions.

  • @grobo11 I like Frodo too, but he became a bit mean and arrogant near the end. From the Silmarilion, my fav one is Turin. IMO the strongest guy in the saga when it comes to pwn ass =D and also that cursed stuff and the solo fight against the dragon sorta rock.

Fingolfin was a nice one, for fighting morgoth 1 vs 1

Finrod (or maybe Fingon, I have read the Silmarilion many years ago) for fighting the werewolf with his bare hands

  • @JRMR7 I thought one of the best characters was Turin also. Although he did commit incest accidently he still kicked ass. Although, his elf friend who he accidently killed was pretty cool aswell.

  • @JRMR7 amen

  • @crabssssss amen brother amen!

  • @crabssssss ;) amen to tolkien.

    and blind guardian too ^^

  • @JRMR7 If you've seen the animated version of him. From the fellowship-two towers movie, you'd be so pissed.

  • @JRMR7 this is true . But i still like Feanor but youre right Turin is even better and feanor still wasnt the greaist warrior evewn fingolfin was better i think.

  • Oh my fucking GOD this song is amazing. Personally, I think it's even better than Time Stands Still.

  • i didn't listen to this for a long time and my eyes getting glossy and i whisper the lyrics with joy

  • Fëanor was always my favourite too , the most powerful of all Elves, the Spirit of Fire on a quest for vengeance

  • great video! thanks for your effort!

  • My god... I think that the most impressive part is the lyrics but... no... can't say that, the entire song is damn good! I just like how these songs speak of the world I loved reading about!

  • The story of feanor just goes to show that too much riches was never good for anybody.

  • @acco8675309 the story of yourself shows that a deadly punch in your fucking face proves that lowlifes and faggots should never reproduce. You fucking waste of skin

seriously, theres should be an IQ test for people posting on youtube. This asswipe's comment wasnt even humorous

  • @punfs geeze. What's with the over reaction? I didn't think I said anything to offending. take a chill pill. Why are you so pissed at me for my comment? I wasn't trying to be humorous. I was making an observation. I really am not all that good at thinking of funny things to say.
