It doesn't seem like we Lao have learned anything from our past at all. Date back to ancient time when Dai or Tai (Lao, Thai, Shan...) were pushed out of China to present Laos and Thailand, i believe part of it has something to do with greed and selfish of our people. The same reason may have contributed to the fall of Lanxang kingdom and Laos being occupied by Vietnam and it's communist puppet government. That begs the question the ability to govern ourselves by our own Lao national.
Unfortunately, Wat Lao Buddhavong may run into problems if nothing is done to resolve it quick. There has been many allegation against the monks. the inside investigation was initiated, but now there is dispute of how to resolve them. Change must be made. See video to why the local community and abroad is demanding to change to improve the temple.
The temple is located in Virginia, right outside Washington,DC. And I guess due to its proximity to DC that is why most Lao people known it or called it a Wat DC. I have been there in 1989 once. I just wish someone posting video describe more detail of the temple. I meant capturing every building from main entry gate to the main building of the temple.
