  • you obviously haven't heard the oringinal

  • Yeah, really does remind me of the "Zaubelehrling" by Goethe.

  • i heard many notes.

  • Technically very well put together. Take that xylophone outside that building and burn the damn thing!!

  • nice one man!!

  • this is pretty cool

  • ugh stupid xylophone! this could have been reallly amazing

  • xylophone makes it sound bad... It is too strong... If the volume on it was brought down while editing on it, could have been better.

  • very cool :D

  • pretty cool

    except xylophone was too overwhelming

  • haha i was thinking the same thing

  • This is outside my house :D

  • Five stars !! Very interesting concept and the end result is awesome. Well done.

  • This proves music doen't have to be structured to be music. I found this piece relaxing and meditative. I'm sory ratings has been diaabled I wantd to give it five stars!

  • I find this much more compelling than that thing Corey did!!!

    Way to go!!!

  • Clever idea.. Would be nice to see how it could be expounded upon.

  • Cool idea but the composition wasn't the best, still, around 02:00 and to the end it was very cool

  • that was very cool! thanks for sharing!

  • an interesting workaround of the human keyboard concept, was expecting some decent tune at least.. i mean the composer, he had all these notes to work with, i just wasn't that impressed with the music.

    anyway why disable the rating?

  • interesting simply interesting

  • The best bit is 00:24 to 00:44 before the guy starts on the chello [?] Keep that rhythm, and change it slightly.

  • nicelly done

  • Haha i loved it.

  • -.-3 stars not rly

  • Its Cool!!! Lovely sound!

Merry Christmas and A HAPPY NEW YEAR! :D

And for anyone who wants to contribute to a video I'm making for my aunti, she had ivf but managed to get pregnant, its the early stages and anything could happen so i want to cheer her on! All you need to do is make a vid saying good luck! thanks!

  • I am very impressed with the idea--but why did you use these notes for such challenging avante garde score? The method of producing the notes is already creative enough--the refreshing part comes when the notes make music. These untrained musicians could have played this composition realtime otherwise, right?

  • good concept with great potential. I kept waiting for some awesome music, which never happened, though. Someone ought to take this concept and run with it, to produce some real music.

  • i think it is weird but cool

  • hell i wonder if its the same andy jackson that chucked me out of his A level music class in '85 for bein too rude ;-o

  • smart release it quick before someone nicks it

  • was that no quarter by led zeppelin?

  • clever, watch some arty farty music vid director nick your idea and win an emmy award for it..

  • wtf?

  • It sounds fine.

Or maybe the randomness being the point went over your head? It was nice not knowing where it would go.

  • creative, but not impressive

  • hehehe. like it .

  • i will always have more respect for these types of videos over the rubbish we're supposed to believe like the sony advert .

  • urm nice idea and it cud work but just need 2 work on puttin it together. it sounds gud tho...different. \m/

  • exactly what i was gonna say!!! i cant believe u got a thumbs down for that comment it's an opinion! anyways yh totally agree... could be really really cool!

  • cool ida, a bugger to put together and msotly worked, liked the kid on the skateboard ; )

  • i think it sounds pretty good. i know how hard this sort of thing is. cool project - well done!

  • i like the bit 00:31 to 00:39 :D:D

  • Nice idea. Is it art? Judging by the accurate stopping on the double bass and (?) viola I presume the players are musicians, not Joe Public?

  • Duh, open strings!

  • liked -listened twice watched once;)

  • it doesnt sound very smooth...

  • amazing start!!!! it kind went all psycho after =S

  • omg

  • hi guys

    check this OUT!!!!!!ps

  • The start was good but once you got half way through is was near impossible to actually pick out the tune. I'd suggest editing the audio separate from the footage and then putting the two together again. That way the mixing of the notes (especially in the places where a lot are sounding at the same time) will be a lot smoother. Otherwise a very nice idea. Good job.

  • it's good but the lighting in the columns looks really weird

  • good work

  • After :55 it doesn't feel smooth. Had good start, but needs to be more polshed.

  • Agree. Well Made Tho.

  • cool Idea. a little more time spent making it flow, and it would be awesome.

  • Great idea both musically and visually,

    well done.

    Dave, Perth, Western Australia.

  • I think it's good. A bit jolty, but it's hard to put ramdon notes toghether when you no idea what your loking for. Good job!

  • nice idea...

  • Yes, the main body of people did come from the community group.

    So that's Art?

  • yeah but dude theres like 20 diffrent poeple there playing some random notes and well it be kinda hard to make a real song out of it XD

  • the transition needs to be much smoother, and that would make it amazing. other than that, pretty good.

  • very good video!

  • Wow that really sounds quite good, for something totally random

  • lol thats great, well done to whoever put it together bet it was hard!

  • shout out to sam daubny

  • yes thats a very very good idea, but it wasnt put together very well, one hell of a hard job tho. Good effort.

  • BYKER GROVE!

  • hahaha

  • Brilliant idea but the guy was maybe too hopeful in the fact he tried to get more out of this than possible....

  • dats a good idea but it fagged off

  • Good idea but it had no emotion or feeling as others have said. Good idea though I'll give ya that.

  • I love the idea of a sound notes also possessing intrinsic visual matrices.

  • great concept!

    For the Love of Sound!

    Ingermusic

  • not bad, good idea, the start was alright, but it flagged off!

  • really really nice idea, just... not orchestrated very well afterwards.

  • I thought it was good

a new alternative approach to music creation. nice 1

  • i think it's wonderful new way of aproching music composition as it is a compleaty open way of moving forward in a world where alot of 'avent-garde' experiments have already been done before, i loved it!

  • thats annoying

  • Unfortunately I agree. It's too jumpy, like a bad cd.

  • 0.o

  • yeah

  • it would have been better if it was all the same lighting but still cool

  • i think it would of worked better if they were all string instruments

  • I'll give it a 4 out of 5 because I love the idea, and I love the visual editing. Unfortuntly the audio does let it down a little.

But an amazing effort anyway. Well done all involved.

  • cool... it must have taken quite a bit of work to pull that together. i give it a 3 & 1/2 out of 5, because though the idea was great, the music itself was a bit... mediocre.

  • you are correct by 100%

  • Modern Day Mozarts'......nuff said

  • nice well edited!

  • nice but kinda lost it after the intro

  • Nicely edited but the idea is old.

  • Thats pretty good but wow the guy who co-ordinated it must have been bored when he thought it up.

  • That reminded me of the sony erricson advert... you know the one with a huge version of this?

  • Amazing :)

  • biker grove???

  • Byker! Byker!

    Byker Grove, HEY!

  • wow this kinda SUCKS.....

  • boring

  • BYKER GROVE!

  • That's awesome. I love the changing of lights... It gives it a very Montage-esque feel... Love it! It's a shame there was no standing out melody throughout, but I really liked the idea.

    Paulo

  • amazing! a*

  • thats actually pretty cool

  • Sounds weird, but clever idea!

  • this could have been edited much more effeciently

  • yes I agree...the lighting changes are annoying...

  • no i think the lighting changes added to the effect.

  • Mmm....not really, if they'd wanted that sort of effect they could have added some editing effect, believe me it would look so much better if you had consistent lighting.

  • man you're gay

    "consistent lighting"

you sound like some gay interior designer.

  • love the visual :D

  • Sounds strange but different and the note played was a D.

  • Hurray newcastle!

    Good idea, but the sound is... um... well.. ^_^;

  • lol you can see the clouds move in the windows =}

  • It's alright but I've seen things like this done way better than in this video.

  • I like the idea, but I didnt like the way the notes cut off prematurely

  • I really like it, not something I'd put on my iPod though. :P But, yeah for Newcastle!

  • Maybe they shouldn't have used so many instramens that have a high reverb, it sounds like it's being cut off. Still good though.

  • Woo for North East England! :D

  • Kinda like it actually. Liked the look of it too - nice lighting differences.

HATE Heelies though, kids should be banned from wearing them.

  • they shude have made it a more cathcy tune but still its good. 4 out of 5

  • Cool, all i need now is an acid tab

  • fantastic, great to see some real expereimntal modern music on Youtube....

  • Hmm cool idea but production needs more work

  • Yeah, as has been said already.. good idea, not so good final product. Give it another go I say!

  • Now thats cool

  • wel done great animation/editing :)

  • Fantastic, I'm from gateshead, great to see our area involved in such an innovative and exciting project. Great to see soemthing really origional being featured as well. It reminds me of Ligetti.

  • It's really good to see something ike this doen in Byker, and nice it got featured... but check out his Blinking Ballet on his site, I really like that

  • Its a fantastic idea, ojne which i have seen countless times before, unfortunately each note was cut-off, they should have been over-lapped,

its a five for effort but a 4 overall ;)

  • I'm sick of geordie kids on healies ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • Amazing to see this kind of thing, especially in Newcastle. Makes you proud to live there. :)

  • cool idea for visually presenting it. ive done something similar and a way you can make it better is by letting all the audio tracks overlap, that way theyre not cut off at the end (unless thats what you wanted).

  • nice

  • oooh I like it, have you considered different layers or performers to be different colors?

  • Anton, thank you for visiting my blog. I loved your church piece, and already left a comment for you. It is very inspired.

    Greensleeves

  • great idea well executed. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

  • This is great! :)

  • that was very well edited!!!

how did you managed to get the different footage on at the same time? i've been trying to do that for ages but just can't do it!

  • this video is great, sometimes it seems that the wrong videos get featured, I really think people need to see this.

  • you got your wish

  • WOW!

    Amazing!

    Great!!

    5 stars!!

  • yet again amazing

  • wow how clever

  • Absolutely beautiful, and very clever.

  • Amazing!

  • beautiful!!!!
