This is an absolutley beautiful tune, magnificently played. Our local pipe band play this for tourists in the summer, and i just have to go along and listen too.

I have never in my life heard anything played on the pipes that was remotely as inspiring as this. My thanks to those who posted it, the sheer volume of pipers makes this such a memorable recording.

Boy is this atear jerker if you are Scottish...Yes it was written by two Geramns...But boy when played by a Scottish pipe band...Way to go ! Proud to be Scottish...No sound in the world is as unique as the Scottish bagpipes.

i would play it little slower and would start with "pianissimo" at the beginning and will end in fortissimo. like a band is coming from far far away an will stop in front of me.

Scotsbell My dads coffin was also carried to this tune and lowered into his resting place with a lone piper playing , It has been 5 years on the 12th of August , He died the day after he celebrated his 40th wedding anniversary , This should be Scotlands National Anthem .

It has been proposed as the Scottish national anthem to replace unofficial anthems Scotland the Brave and/or Flower of Scotland. I first heard this beautiful music in November 2007 when I took my mother to the Menin Gate in Belgium. Her grandad (my great grandfather) was blew up in the first world war and his name is commemorated along with thousands of others on the Menin Gate.

Whilst this music was played by all the bands/guards etc we couldn't stop the tears from falling as we pictured all those men travelling through the Gate off to the frontline; many never to walk back through it again.

My friend introduced me to this piece of music, and I love it - We were having a bit of fun seeing what we could find on youtube regarding Highland Cathedral. This is brilliant. You only lose one point for leaving the beginning of this magnificant piece of music out. Otherwise this is a 5/5!

eille c'est super mes trois enfants sont ou on été dans les cadets de l'air (escadron 881 St-Joseph de Beauce) ma nièece a fait la musique régionale elle est maintenant dans les voltigeur de Quebec, mon garcon est dans les forces comme pilote et il joue de la cornemuse ma fille est officier dans la 881 et mon autre fille est adjudant maitre pour la 881. C'est un merveilleux monde les cadets, au plaisir de se reparler ALP
