It is their job to apprehend and arrest the suspect. They took it one step further and decided to be judge and jury right there. I am a victim of police brutality too. I ran from the police on my motorcycle nine years ago. When they finally caught me, I was handcuffed with a 9mm pushed into my temple. The officer wanted to blow my fucking head off.

I think it was more of wanting to avoid the spike strips that the officer was placing on the roadway. In order to avoid the strips, he had to swerve to the left, where the officer was in the road.

I my opinion, the officer was an idiot by being right in the path of travel of the vehicle running.

-the officers could not see the man thrown from the vehicle

-they had reason to believe the suspect was dangerous (and perhaps playing possum)

-they shouted for him to show his hands before delivering specific non-lethal blows

-right after what you see on tape, the suspect got up, apologized to the officers, and then was accompanied by them to the hospital

Things are not always as they seem.
