A very difficult case. However the way she was killed was completely inhumane and a total insult to somebody who was bulimic. Imagine going through that. Medical science has advanced far enough that we don't need to let people needlessly suffer especially while they're dying.

So why didnt all the great prayers work? Without science, she would have died. It was her time to die. Whether you believe in a "survival of the fittest" theme, or God's choice thing, obviously she wasn't meant to live. The doctors and the courts aren't evil. They recognized her as brain dead, and in a permanent vegetative state, which, despite what this deceiving man is saying, she did not appear as merely a retarded person in the end. They determined she was not in fact "alive".

She had a massive electrolyte imbalance, specifically potassium, which couldve caused her severe brain damage, on autopsy her brain only weighed about 620g, about half of what it shouldve weighed. She may have been bulimic, but regardless, she was Catholic, and wished to live. She shouldn't have been at the mercy of another person, she was still aware and conscious. Horrible story, God bless her

@coopm12 I agree and I dont agree, It depends if you belive she was really that brain dead. There are people who lead us to belive that she was responsive and was able to be rehablitated, and there are people that say she was too far gone and was NEVER going to come out of that coma. People do not know what the hell to belive.

@fraroc It doesn't matter if she was brain dead or not (which she wasn't). Killing someone just because you deem them inferior is wrong. She was a living human being who was murdered.

@ItssBrian Murder is ending someones life unnaturally. She died naturally because the science that was keeping her alive ceased. Big difference.

I read the book. It was very good and it went through the whole story, he didn't go and take only one side of the story, he took all sides carefully.
