  • I loved this game couldn't the name of it till now I'm so happy

  • aha! i finally found it! i once had this game back when i was very young, and i remembered it as probably the only good racing game that also involved flying. well maybe diddy-kong racing was okay. anyway i didnt actually know the name of this game. and now i have finally found out what it is. now i just have to get it

  • How have I never heard of this game? lol.

    The draw distance is terrible.

  • with a bit more graphics this woulda been awesome

  • I can't be the only one that was waiting for him to find the secret passage through the waterfall.

  • Such an underrated game, definitely one of my favorites.

  • omg the fog is sooo close

  • Man I loved this game so much on hard mode. So unforgiving though.

  • Best. Racing game. Ever.

  • racing version of forsaken/descent?

  • Oh my god, the pop-up!

  • The late draw-in is terrible. It reminds me of many games on the Sega Saturn

  • OMFG this was like my favorite game as a kid and i was like 4 when i started playing these games!

  • This game looks like an R-Type version of F-Zero :P

  • how do you do the boost at the start before the race begins?

  • oh god...I had forgotten about this game so long ago...I loved it to death..I miss the 90s.

  • lool i didnt knew the turbo

  • lol i used o love this game but i couldnt remember the name for the life of me. so thnk god i finally found it

  • Why does hardly anyone know how to play this game?

    Arggghh so much rage

  • i loved this game!!! But i found it hard xD

I dodnt knew the turbo thing LOL

  • It's the mario-kart of futuristic racing games :D

  • i have the japanese version, after 5 years to have it, i discovered how to use turbo O.o

  • OMG I remember having this game like 6 years ago XD I lost it up till I remembered the name of this game, so many memories.. |3 Wish I could buy it again though.. =(

  • This game has potential. The only problem was the lack of racetracks and the difficulty of pulling off boosts.

  • I prefer F-Zero, Extreme G, and Wipeout 64 well over this game.

    -kidThunder

  • @kibjohn

Wipeout sucks, and FZ and Ex-G are nothing like it.

I do love some Extreme-G, though

  • @Eiphureonz I actually liked Wipeout though. Though, the N64 wipeout game didn't suck however. It was good, but the graphics were quite shallow compared to Wipeout XL on the Saturn and PSX.

    -k.t.

  • The waterfall isn't a shortcut, you go slower when you're stuck to a wall

  • Missed your start boost...

  • People may say this is an F-zero rip off. But I think that is like saying sonic is a rip off of Mario.

  • he missed the shortcut in the waterfall

  • cool, but the music kinda sucks, and it has the worst pop-up that i've seen in a racing game

  • This game is amazing, it is really well & I want to play again this.

  • This was the first game I played on multiplayer mode with my father. I think.

  • this is just another game in the massive nintendo library that mauled sony beyond belief

  • I got this game still!! Great memories! Most of the music on this game was epic. It seems N64 games hold some of the best music ever, including 007 The World Is Not Enough!

  • ME ENCANTA ESE JUEGO

  • die in hell mexican

  • perhaps these insulting my country???

  • perhaps not what you think of my country these insulted or want to suggest that Mexico already is the worst but if someone has to offend I have to be clear I'm not your

  • blee blee blah blah perhaps your english is a little horrible

  • You guys are crazy, this game was a joke compared to just about every other racing game on the system!

  • Idk this looks pretty damn fun but the music is HORRIBLE

  • kicked captain falcon's ass by a ton this game was great especially in fast mode in first person O.O

  • I remember this game from about, what, 10 years ago? It's pretty good, but I think xtreme-g and f-zero were more intense on the '64, not to say this isn't a good game though... There simply aren't many tracks in this game, and losing to the cpus on the hardest difficulty gets old pretty quickly. To boost, I think you have to let go of A, hit L or R to pivot, turn slightly, then hit acceleration.

  • well yeah this game is better, and i do mean that it blew pod racers out of the water, but it is similar such as the round tunnel areas wich are almost identical to those one pod racers. mainly i was just talking about the background similarities not the flying car thing and yes pod racers where flying sorta because they don't touch the ground so what exactly would you call that if not flying!

  • how the heck do you use a speed boost? i just got the game and i have always got 4 or worse. any tips, anyone?

  • wow this game is so much like star wars pod racing!

  • no.... pod racers was lame compared to this, and I don't think they could fly, either.

  • Great memories. I remember playing this game for hours trying to unlock everything.... :)

  • If I'm an F-Zero fan would any of you reccomend this game?

I never knew this game ever existed on the N64.

This should definintly come out on VC.

  • I'm an F-Zero fan also and I would definitely recommend this game.

  • I'm waiting for the day it does..

I think this is my favorite 64 racing game..

  • this game aint that popular is it

  • This brings back so many memories. I remember my bro bought this for $20 and we played it so much! Absolutely love it.

    Thanks for uploading the video!

  • You are welcome =)

  • Yes, this game was awesome. I played the hell outta this.

  • Ahh memories. If only they'd remake it for the next gen systems, especially the PS3. I don't see that happening any time soon though...

  • Wow... I almost forgot about this game. I need to get out the old N64 again...

  • @LegendaryGIR if your one dosent work they are selling whole n64 systems with games for £10 just like what happened with the playstation 1! last i heard the ps1 games were climbing back up the price ladder. and you know what nintendo games are like in their lassic values. If you get any games , keep em good , totally serial! I've recently seen boxed legend of zelda ocarina of time selling for £50 (about 80 USD) , so keep em good!

  • @LegendaryGIR hey im going to remake this game when im getting a job at sega im going to remake this game dont you think its a godo idea if so thumbs up

  • Meh- I sucked at the game. Could never figure out how to control it properly- then again, I was 6 or some shit when I played it.

  • aw shit these were the days, me and a red hornet stomping the competition ...

(Oh and I found it kind of strange that you knew how to do the 'Temp' But not the starting boost, Hold A and B at the beginning and the moment he says go let go of B)

  • well, heh, i used to know how to do the start boost, i just couldn't remember when i was playing this again. thanks for the reminder though.

  • The graphics look very good but the background pop-up is TERRIBLE!

  • Loved this game!!

  • I STILL HAVE THIS GAME.Every time i start a race the ALWAYS get ahead of me lol

  • this brings back memories, I loved this game

  • What is the throttle button?

  • A Button

  • Comment removed

  • your so slow! DONt take Avenger take Black Light´ning and keep when you start A and B pushed to get quicker away! Trust me I played it very often and manáged to keep the highscores!!

  • How do you get turbo?

  • you have to do a quick turn and release the throttle button, then quickly rehold the throttle button and if you timed it right, you boost. it's kinda tricky to do at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy.

  • You kinda left out that you need to hold Z while doing what you said, otherwise it won't work. Unless the controls are different from the original on the emulated version you may have used. Also, the game is much faster if you set the difficulty level to expert in the Option Mode Select. And the controller Aeromachine is the best!!!

  • i remeber the good times while playing this game. i wanted to use reaper but i didnt know how so i used hornet

  • damn! u caught up fast! maad props for that!

  • ok how do you do it i registered but i dont see a link or anything

  • looks slow i'm gonna try it though

  • I use to be a beast at this game!

  • I remember this game.. It was awesome..

  • BIKINI!!1!!1!1 \o/

  • best racing game on N64! i would wake up at like 6:00 am just to play this game and stopped around 8:30am

  • This is one of my favorite childhood games. I still play it when I can get my N64 to work!

  • GOD DAMN!!! this was the first 64 game i had ever got brings back SO MANY memorys

  • I loved this game so much when I was a kid...to the point of total obsession. Btw, try using the divx codec if you can. I made a video at full quality and it was only 8 megs with awesome quality!

  • i am lucky

thesame day i played this i played f-zero-x

  • i am lucky

thesame day i played this i played f-zero-x

  • AeroGauge is Great!! The Machines and the tracks are very cool...It's pure Fun!!

  • Is it true you can play as a N64 Controller

  • yes, you can, but the code is hard to do, and i could never get it to work.

  • i remember renting this game once or twice and using a game shark for that cheat.

  • ya its like one of the best racing vheicles to i beat all the records with it and all races everything..

  • I got it by luck lol. you need to race a lap which's time ends on "064. you just have to get lucky to get it:P

  • I wish this game wouldn't get so many bad reviews... It was in like the bottom 10 N64 games in the Official magazine... I wish I knew why, I thought this game ruled!

  • i never read any reviews on this game back in the day. i never actually owned it until within the past few years, i originally played it as a rental and thought it was awesome (i still think it is awesome now).

  • I agree with both of you. This game is absolutely awsome and also the OST is better than in many other racing-games I've played. And -in opposite as many others- I do not think it is a Wipeout or X-Treme G -rip-off as all those games contain weapons and not the function to fligh up or down.

-anyone an idea where I can load the OST?

  • alas, iv'e never found one to download or purchase. you might be able to make your own via recording the audio onto your computer when using an Adaptec Gamebridge like i use. or use an emulator to play the game and record the sound.

  • We have F Zero X, we have Star Wars Episode I Racer... let's make an obsolete game! And so: Aero Gauge was born...

  • i had more fun with aero gauge than i did with f-zero X, and i do own that too.

  • good for you! As long as you have fun, that's all right with me.

  • aaah. My favorite track (and music). There's a secret passage in the waterfall, for anyone who doesn't know that.

  • its funny you mention that... when i was playing this, i kept forgetting to go into there.... everytime i passed by the waterfall, i was like... "oh yea, i should do that next lap..." but i do that every lap, and never get around to it, lol.

  • this was the only game, (except rush series) all critics vanished and spoke badly off in magazines, i bought where i am satisfied still today....under the radar is the right word.i think this game rockz more than wipeout(i also own)

  • i have this game in my hand right now

  • Yeah i remember they used to rent out games overhere in sweden aswell! I sorta guess they stoped due to piracy though, i mean the cartridges for the N64 wasnt really able to pirate, heh. On the other hand, i've played many good "lost" games thanks to pirating. =)

  • This game really dont seem too bad? Why did i never hear about this? I guess i was too hardcore on F Zero-X, lol. However i bought this game on an internet auction for like nothing and i'll be playing it in a few days. Thanks for the vid! All hail the retro power! lol :D

  • yea, this game was one of those great games that just fell under the radar, so to speak. i remember i rented the game back in the day when you could actually find games at blockbuster for rent; thats when i first discovered it.

  • OMG. GOOD OLD FRIGGIN TIMES!!!! I remember the good old days of N64 when I was like, what, 5? 6 years old? Thank you Burt. This rocks.

  • you are welcome =) some of my best times in video gaming was on the N64, it is my favorite system.
