  • I own a dubbed version released by Platinum disccorp. It´s a fullscreen version.,and ´most of the times you can´t see shit whats goin on in the actionsequences. i don´t know if the original aspect ratio would be any better as it seems to be shot and edited in a way you can´t fuckin tell what´s happening. Please correct me if I´m wrong. If anyone knows of a different version ,please let me know.Because otherwise, this movie kicks ass.VIVA CHIBA!!

  • Does anyone know the name of the Sonny Chiba movie in which they kill his teacher and he goes to find out who only to discover it was a fake death as his master was in the mafia? Chiba also hooks up with a female who attaches electrodes to his fingers so as to heighten his fighting speed. Chiba also fights 3 monkey style experts.

I saw it as a little kid and haven't been able to remember the name so as to find it again.

Does anyone know what movie I mean?

    Thanks.

  • @vassephardi - I guess you mean "SOUL OF CHIBA" ...alternate US-Title "SOUL OF BRUCE LEE"

  • @Deschainable Most excellent ! ! !

That's the movie. I just saw a little part of it as like 1 1/2 minutes and another short of it where he fights the monkey style experts.

Wow, you don't know how long I'd looked for that movie. Even when I typed Sonny Chiba movies in the bar on this thing it NEVER showed up.

Soul of Bruce Lee and also Soul of Chiba. Excellent ! ! !

    Thanks so much.

    P.S. Have a happy 4th of July.

  • @vassephardi Soul of Bruce Lee(Gekisatsu! Judo ken) This mid-1970s martial arts classic stars Sonny Chiba as Mu Yun Tek, a young man trained in the Thai fighting style since childhood to one day avenge his parents' death. When a fellow student kills their teacher, Mu Yun's thirst for vengeance grows. The brutal action never stops as Mu Yun teams up with an Interpol agent (Tadashi Yamashita) to find the culprit, who insists that their former master was a drug dealer who had to be destroyed.

  • @sonnych69 Right, that's the one. But where can I find it here?

I've only come across clips of it here. Yet I've come across entire movies here clip by clip.

It the complete movie here on youtube?

    And thanks for the info.

  • Sonny Chiba is awesome

  • Tarantino always knows what's up. Respect.

  • cool

  • Tarantino lifted it from this. He's a huge Chiba fan, which is why he wrote a part in Kill Bill for him.

  • And an awesome part at that.

    Tarantino knows what's up.

  • Tarantino lifted EVERYTHING he ever did from Hong Kong cinema.

  • @DangerousKJL And he even wrote that Clarence watches Sonny Chibas movies in True Romance

  • I love Sonny Chiba films (Street Fighter, Yagyuu Conspiracy, etc.), but I don't think this film is that good.

    -Ian C., 12-year old filmmaker

(Ezekiel 25:17 was used better in "Pulp Fiction")

  • This film was heavily edited for the US; you should watch the Japanese version before making judgment. Besides, if it weren't for the US version, Tarantino would have never used this in PULP FICTION.

  • @August138 i have never found any version of this movie :(

  • too bad tarantino sucks...alot, and so does the bodyguard, aside from that kick ass bible verse intro, the rest of the movie is lame, and thats coming from a hardcore sonny chiba fan

  • "and they shall know that I am Chiba the bodyguard when I shall lay my vengance upon them" best quote in a movie ever, long live Sonny Chiba!

  • thats not how it goes in my fuckin bible

  • Well, the real Ezekiel reads a bit different, and quite a bit shorter, so regardless of who quoted it first, the verse was rewritten. Also, whenever Tarantino rips something from a movie, it's meant as a tribute to that movie so that film geeks like me can freak out and go "I know where he got that!"

  • this film is much older than tarantino lol

tarantino is fan of those films thats why he made films that way

  • this film was made before pulp fiction. look at the print and i also heard Trantino is a fan of sonny chiba.

  • there's a scene in the beginning of tarantino's "true romance" where christian slater goes to see three sonny chiba movies...it's where he meets patricia arquette

  • Hahaha, Tarantino-tards...

  • WTF? That's ripped off word for word in Pulp Fiction!

  • Not too bright, are you? It's the other way around, son.

  • More proof that Tarentina is a hack ;>

  • Where's your movie career, mister douchebag?

  • Yes i have one coming up, its called "Slaves of Tarentino" how we have his devoted disciples praising him 24/7 about originality, an actor (laughs), and non racist to Chow Yun Fat!

  • That does change the fact you're a douchebag that makes bad jokes, mister douchebag.

  • Viva Chiba
