I just wanted to thank you for posting your project. I've been doing research on the materials you used in your kiln, and had planned a similar kiln to what you made. You answered some questions for me about the materials and I now have a better idea of the direction I need to go to make my kiln more successful.
I am envious! Just love celadon and tenomoku glazes, beautiful! I had toyed with the idea of a gas kiln but don't know if I'm ready for the firing/learning curve! ... or the city permits for one. Thanks for sharing.
Man, that is a beautiful load of pottery! The spraying is sure the way to go by the looks of those big bowls! Gotta try it! That covered bowl might be saved if you ground the foot down in several places and made it '3 footed' instead of continuous.
It still breaks my heart to throw anything away. :o) I always fire my lids sitting inside the bowl so that if (when) there is warpage, they warp together and still fit. Gotta wax the touching areas though.
Awesome! Loved this whole video :) I'm so glad your kiln load turned out better for you this time. I got excited for you sprayed bowls...they really turned out nice! So excited for ya..looking forward to seeing videos of the street fair ::) !!!
I'll dig up that bucket and post the recipe soon

The glaze on that covered bowl sucked anyway - no big loss...
