Every time I listen to this, it reminds me of everything I've been through. The depression, the heart breaks, the near death experiences, being FtM, having to come out, trying to fit in, losing those close to me, having friends call me late at night in a suicidal panic...
It is tragic how Jonathan Larson created this intensely generational moving masterpiece and devoted so many years of his life to it and never even got to see opening night of the Off Broadway because he died that the night before.

Such a beautiful song. I also wanted to add that the opening singer, Aaron Lohr, is totally under appreciated. He is an amazing singer. Poor guy has done so much, yet no one even knows who he is! It is a shame.
