I love this movie but this would never be able to last long. Because in the movies nobody has ever seen a zombie movie. Everyone in real life has seen zombie movies and knows how to kill one. What I don't understand is why these zombies are so freakin fast! The body takes on rigimortis after death, stiffening it's muscles and making it slow. Secondly, George Romero is the REASON that movie zombies move slow! he INVENTED the idea!!! I am very dissapionted that the remake took on this concept, it just won't go with the series now. :'(

@Andrinator120 to make it intense :) slow zombies are the original. But perhaps there are a mutation of the virus that creates the infected to become aggressive. There are 3 kinds of zombies, the one who live after death, the one being infected and cause body damage, or even the one that makes the infected aggressive. If you watch 28 days later, the infected are also fast runner.

The best remake IMO made. The makers of this film really got it right. Zombies running adds a new dynamic to a stale genre. If all they did was walk slow all you would need to do is walk a bit faster and take them out at leisure. Also (spoilers) a great zombie birth scene as well. The movie pulled no punches and was genuinely scary which is rare in this day of cliched horror. So IMO if you have not seen it do so.

Crap. This can't be considered a remake, the director just took the name and things like the mall or zombies are just coincidence. It's not even horror/splatter, it's more of an action movie with gory scenes like Robocop and similar. The characters have no character, the green screen intro-scene doesn't fit the rest of the movie, all the gore scenes are dark so we don't see the awful effects and the blood is black.

I still respect slow zombies because to the characters they won't seem like a very large threat, but when they all get together in the hundreds, that is where the true horror comes from.

Normally I'm not too crazy about remakes of specific horror movies, but I will admit that this is almost as good as the original version by George Romero. I'm watching this movie right now on the SyFy channel (every year, the entire month of October is the only month SyFy shows good horror movies. I know the channel is designed for sci-fi shows, but I personally feel they should also incorporate horror movies too).

The trailer made me wait to see it until it was on TV. What intrigued me about the movie was that (unlike in this trailer) the radio and TV news reports kept it real and made the movie a bit more believable. In this trailer you wouldn't think that. It's just "Residents are advised to go to a safe place and stay there!!!" all cheesy like.

So yeah...when I saw the trailer I was like "Hah....I'll pass." In a way that's good though because 99% of the time, the trailer is better than the movie.
