Woosha had been on the bench for most of the match and Brereton was running a muck with the highest possessions on ground. It was late in the 2nd quarter when coach Malthouse made the call for Woosha to get out there and take 'care' of the situation.
Woosha literally ran straight off the bench and didn't stop until he reached Brereton and the rest is the footage that you see in this video.
Whoosha was a hard man and an average player, but thats all. Both he and Brereton played hard and took it as much as they dished it out. The big difference is that Brereton was a proven champion player and Worsfold was not. West Coast dreamers dress it up all you like.
Brereton was still in the field of play when he was hit. Daniel Kerr had already crossed the line when Josh Carr knocked him down. I don't agree with things been thrown at Josh Carr and I think it's disgraceful, but the crowd reacted based on the ball being out of play.
i reckon you need to watch the footage again. both brereton and the footy were over the behind line. brereton had already slowed up as play had stopped and woosha did one of his trademark gutless hits on a bloke who had no reason to be expecting it. woosha and byron pickett - two of the biggest exponents of the 'cheap shot' to play the game
one day woosha is going to suit up in his 94 jersey, come out of the coaches box, run onto the field, clean up 10-12 players, then run back up to the box. i look forward to that day
