hi lee, been looking through some of your olds stuff, particularly the positions of flexion stuff, was wondering what 3 exercises (mid power, fully stretched and concentration) would you suggest for shoulders, back and legs? because the chest, bi's and tri's ones are good just havent got any stuff on the three muscle groups mentioned. Thanks :) hope the bicep is ok btw ;)
This would be a more effective exercise if you kept your elbow stationary behind your hips. Aren't you technically using some deltoid (primarily front) when you move your elbow in front of the hips, as well as releasing some tension from the bicep at the top of the rep?
Sure you can push it on this one and rep out to failure. I'm holding back and being conservative in my training because I'm still recovering from a torn bicep, so I'm just happy to be able to work biceps at this stage. But if you want to push it hard, go for it.
@leemhayward thnaks man one more question is this a type of exercise that if you go heavy you can do fewer reps? Are is this more for just defintion so you want to go light and do lots of reps?
hey lee! you should do some videos on how to do proper form and not do proper form. like showing how not to do it (i.e. wrong vs right form for squats, deadlifts, etc) , that would be pretty cool eh?
Question, Lee: Would you happen to know the physiological or psychological reason(s) that causes (my) scrotum to retract while performing lunges? (I presume it's due to the mind attempting to minimize injuries to the testes.)
@AmadeusExcello idk but maybe cause all the blood travels to ur quads and butt and supply the muscles with oxygen, everything goes there and not ur balls
Yes, I up to doing 30 pounds for both cable curls and dumbbell curls so it's coming along. When I started back training after I tore it I was struggling to perform 5 pound dumbbell curls.
Overtraining is a very individual thing that depends on how good of shape you are currently in. For example, a highly conditioned athlete will have a much higher work capacity than a beginner who is just starting out. But what exactly is it you want to know about overtraining???
@leemhayward just 2 add to the question. i mean from what ive understood in my 4 years of bodybuilding is, that there isnt AN EXACT magic number of sets or reps one can do to achieve muscle gains. From what i understand, its all about VOLUME. what do you think is over training lee, my rules of thumb is this , if you going really heavy on a workout. Acheiving a burn and a pump, then once a pump starts to leave,then your almost done. and never work on a muscle again if its sore. whats your say?
i also like to mention, that i feel a workout shouldnt last no longer then an hour..maybe an hour and ten minutes..but im just curious because overtraining is a topic always thrown in many different forms.
I'm not gonna lie. I heard nothing but I'd enjoy what I saw :)

10 reps per set? How many sets you might want to recommend?
POHSENGxD 10 months ago
@POHSENGxD
I usually do a couple lighter warm up sets, then I'll do 3 heavier "working sets".

eightball20058 11 months ago
YES! I do this but, say if I'm doing my right arm, I put my left leg in front of my right leg & vice versa because I feel I have better balance.

@leemhayward why are you holding your abdominal is that for balance?
bigdaddy19821111 11 months ago

I find it helps with balance rather than just letting your free hand hang down by your side.

@bigdaddy19821111
I prefer to do sets of 10 reps for this exercise. But there is nothing wrong with pyramiding up and going heavier with lower reps.
