Whatever, I actually liked Starfox Adventures. Clearly you're not much of a Starfox fan if you think there aren't any other Starfox games. There's Assault and Command. Just because Adventures had different gameplay doesn't make it bad. It expanded the Star Fox universe. The world of Starfox became more than the inside of a spaceship. If you don't like that, then enjoy your one game. I do like it, so I'll just be busy enjoying a whole franchise, instead of just one game. Accept change, it's good.

@MrLeafshield Assault is better, but it likely wouldn't have been made without Adventures. It had on foot missions that probably wouldn't have been there if Adventures hadn't set the precedent. It would have just imitated 64, but an imitation is never as good as the original. Also, Assault's ground levels weren't very polished. Adventure has Assault beat there. I'd love to see a game with missions on foot as polished as Adventure and missions in the Arwing on par with 64.

This game was like Super Mario Bros 2 in that:

-They were both originally a different game, but had the title and characters of a more popular Nintendo franchise slapped onto it to make more money. (SMB 2 Was Doki Doki Panic and SA was Dinosaur Planet)

-They both recieved fairly negative reviews and were dubed unsucessful by their respective fanbases.

-They are both only good for introducing new staple characters for fans to like (SMB2's enemies are still around, so are Krystal and Gen. Scales)

Continuing my previous comment, it's important to note that on the third bullet point, the Mario franchise cotinues to reuse material from SMW2 and have even made a succesful remake of it on the GBA. The Starfox franchise treats SA like:"Yeah...none of what happened in Starfox Adventures is really cannon. You were just playing Slippy's acid trip." Characters and environments from SA only live on through various fan services such as art, recolors, fanfiction and...porn. -_-#

I thought that, as a whole, it was a good game. I think the only reason why its hated so much by fans is because of the huge formula change. Everyone expected an expansion of 64, but got something entirely different instead. Basically, Nintendo just attached the Starfox brand to it for marketing purposes, but I think it would've gotten better reception had it stayed out of the Starfox brand, because if you minus out the fact that its Starfox, it really is a good game.

Game wasn't really bad, it just shouldn't have had anything to do with Star Fox. I wouldn't have hated it if it was Dinosaur Planet like it was supposed to be. It would've just been another mediocre Zelda-type title. But it messes with the whole Star Fox mythos and pisses fans of Star Fox off. It started the whole downward spiral into the overly dramatic stories nobody cared about or wanted in Command.

The reason why this Star Fox was different without being a bad game its because it holded the soul and spirit of Star Fox and it was the only way that RARE could bring us their Dinosaur Planet cancelled game concept. And the reason why BK nuts & bolts sucked for being different its because the spirit of Banjo Kazooie wasnt there. The characters looked ugly as hell, the missions are repetitive and some of them are stupid, the story is stupid and make BK a cybernetic virtual world LOL (kill me).
