Great.... The YouTube comment system seems to be delayed, I though my other post had disappeared into cyberspace so I wrote a new one. Sorry for the double reply!
No, it's the same procedure. Various latex pieces are glued to the face, and make-up and wig is applied on top.
The difference lies in how the latex pieces are painted on forehand (they're already coloured, to save time. The original make-up was all painted when on the face, but it took much longer time to finish).
In Denmark they've added a lot more red than in West End. Even though I'm a big fan of the Danish production, I must admit I prefer the deformity makeup in West End...
There is a small difference. If you look at the very top crater on the Phantom's forehead, you'll see that once the second wig is on in the Danish production, the crater at the top isn't visible at all. In London, once the second wig is on half of the top crater is visible so either the second wig comes lower in the Danish production or the top crater is higher in the Danish production.
But that's about how the latex pieces are made to fit the actors (they're made individually for the actors) and how they're applied on the face.
This doesn't mean the procedure is different or more complicated (your original commentary was that "the makeup procedure is a bit more complicated in Copenhagen than in London").
But that's about how the latex pieces are made (they're made to fit each actor, at least in Copenhagen) and how they're applied.
Your original comment was about the Copenhagen production having a more complicated make-up procedure. I think the procedure is pretty much the same. It's the execution and appliance of the deformity pieces that varies, but that's decided upon BEFORE the actor sit down to get the make-up on.

I think that the make up procedure they use in Copenhagen for The Phantom is a bit more complicated than the one they use in London.

Or are we talking about different things?

All I'm trying to say is that the procedure looks a bit different to the one in London.
