  • This is a very good video.

  • again a lovly tree but i cant seem to find one anywere in the UK, could you tell me the name of it please cheers

  • Juniperus prostrata. Juniperus Wilsoni, Juniperus Parsoni, are the same or very similar. Juniperus Chinensis Blaauws is a hybrid between this juniper and Chinese juniper, and is also very similar, but slower growing.

  • can this be a mainly indoor plant or will that kill it cheers

  • This tree cannot be grown indoors.

  • cheers

  • Do you have an NSX?

  • I used to own one. I'm currently shopping for my next sports car.

  • how do u make the tree bend like that

  • Most of the cases you have to train them when they were young n flexible, by using guide wire (copper wire) to train the tree to take the shape, takes time n patient.

Look up some videos on how to wire a bonsai, hope this help :)

  • thx il get some copper wire if i cant find any bonsai wire i looked at wallmart and the nurseries around here and i cant find any bonsai scizors or branch cutters do u have 2 order em off the internet or somthen

  • To be frank with you I'm a beginner with bonsai myself and from my experience I wouldn't suggest you to go straight and order those Tools (they cost too much!!, well for me anyway),

If you just want to play around with some trees, from experience, i would recommend you to go and find whats around the house that can get the same job done.

Otherwise your local bonsai nursery would be a gd place to begin with, as they might have bonsai classes.

    G'd luck

  • I got by my first few years in bonsai with an old pair of bypass pruners. (That was back before there was an internet) Like I said above, though, Chinese made bonsai tools are so cheap on Ebay that it makes more sense to spend three dollars plus shipping on them than it does to hack up your plants with a bypass pruner or kitchen scissors.

  • i just searched bonsai trees and bonsai tools on google and there were some prety amazeing ones for under 30$ but ones like ur ficus that were about 25 years old were selling for 4000.00 thx 4 the help

  • Thank you, "chasnsx", for the tips on bonsai tools, much appreciated!.

I had no idea you can get those tools so cheap!

Thank to you i'll keep my eyes n ears out for the bargain.

  • @translucent82 Sorry but can you fill me in? I am always looking for ways I can get inexpensive bonsai tools.... they are sooo overpriced. Charles, I have just discovered your youtube videos after several years of searching and I can say, you are damn near the best! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and insights with us. We are better for it ^_^

  • we dond have any bosai nurseries around here but thx 4 the advice right now im growing some lemon trees and maples a apple tree a chinese elm and a birtch tree i think bonsai trees r the only thing u wana speed up time with lol cause they take so long 2 grow

  • You can get bonsai scissors from Ebay for as little as $3.00. How long the blades will hold an edge is anybody's guess, but they will last long enough for you to decide whether to buy better quality tools or quit bonsai.

  • i was on ebay yesterday and i found 200 chinese maple tree seeds for 7$ and i found gd pair for about 20$ wich i found on a few bonsai websights

  • I use aluminum bonsai wire. The tree was a lot younger when I bent it. I selected one well developed upper branch (everything you see above the first bend), spiraled two runs of 6mm wire around it, and bent it into shape. This is covered in my How to create a bonsai from a nursery juniper part 2 video.

  • thanks do u also no if u need bonsai soil 4 a bonsai tree cause i have a few trees i cut in half in some poting soil that im turning into bonsi

  • Potting soil by itself is not the best -- better to mix in some coarse sand to improve drainage.

  • thanks il try 2 get some
