The PLO has stated an aim of a "historic" solution to Israel which is quite simply the eventual abolishment of the state by violent means. Many Palestinian "freedom" organisations support this end. How do you think this makes the Israelis feel - like you are going to play nice peoples or try to destroy them as soon as they retract from lands which provide tactical advantage?.. Very simple. It's this attitude that must change... along with the counterproductive retaliations.

Why must you cease retaliations - because this has the best chance of reducing Israeli aggression - and very quickly. They couldn't be seen to be slaughtering civilians (which they claim they are not doing now - Hamas and such give them a perfect excuse to act any way they want to) lest they lose vital support from the west. Your current tack of bloody ineffectual retaliations only sets you back. You would get your own country this way - and do it morally.

Whilst their aim of producing a political solution is both moral and realistic the stated aim of a historic solution (and the means supported to produce it) is immoral and unrealistic. The Israelis should and do feel threatened by the PLO (and just about every muslim / arab country around it). Their occupation of areas of land for palestine can be rightfully argued by them to be to decrease the likelyhood of consequential acts of aggression against them by Palestine aimed at reclaiming territory
