Fucking phenomenal metal voice. I remember years ago playing the first Anthrax album for a friend. When he heard Bush's vocals for the first time..his eyes opened wide and said "holy shit!!!"
One of the most enjoyable shows I ever saw was this band opening for a very young Metallica in a club in Albuquerque, NM. These guys were excellent live, but once Metallica took the stage, they tore the place down. Back then, none of them were huge rock stars, so after they played, they hung out in the crowd. Got to meet Kirk Hammett and Phil Sandoval that night.
@x1ic1x except the vocals, they are timeless u can not but a date on them. I mean these volcals sound no more 80s then they do 90s. This is what makes bush one of the best singers of all time.
Can't believe I am just now watching this video after 26 years it came out. I saw This band open for METALLICA on the Ride the Lightning tour of '85. While they were playing the barricades in front of the stage were broken down & cops came out wearing riot shields & nightsticks plus all the lights came back on. The cops threatened to cancel the show before METALLICA even started!!! NO JOKE!!!
Great show after that. Tickets sold out the 1st day on sale!!!
@TheLeroyMoon HAheahe ,just realized . Phonetically is more powerful, you re right ehahe, but im not american ,my listening is not a perfect thing, John says something about what you told me,around 1:25, right ? i couldnt identify clearly.
Maaan,man...we re talking about such a powerful thing. Check the atmosphere the lonely guitar riff made, and then check 1:22 ...look at the vocalist face !!! He express ,like,'now you gonna feel the power of metal' heheh
@RYROSmetaldefender About 1:22 - I was a teenager when this video was released. Me and my friends liked to joke that prior to this point in the video, the band is standing around asking, "Ok...now why the 'U' again?"
Then, at 1:22, you have John Bush' frustrated reply, "No, guys, get it: instead of 'you,' we're saying 'U.'" Pointing his finger, he'd explain, "Phonetically, it's more powerful."
"Pho what?!!? ...I thought we were just gettin' paid to jam."
Great song. The start of a long career for Bush...Loved Dave. I saw them on the first tour open up for W.A.S.P. and Metallica for "Ride the Lightning". What a lineup! Small joint in upstate N.Y. - no more than 500 people. It ROCKED!!!! God I miss My long hair! Ha! Ha! Made it easier to sleep in High School with all those bangs! Classic!
The Saint was the underground favorite back in the 80's. These guys weren't the run of the mill bands playing in LA, that's probably why they weren't bigger and being on Chysalis didn't help. I saw Quiet Riot, Whitesnake and Armored Saint @ Market Square Arena in Indianapolis 1984. First I'd heard of them and they blew the other two, more established bands off the stage. They were fuckin' awesome. Went out next day to Musicland and bought the album. Still marchin' to the saint to this day \m/R.I.P. Dave\m/

Dave\m/
