  • That's not a tiger centipede ! Tiger pede's legs are longer and their head looks a lil different.

  • @deIced It's a Payson locality. One of the largest of the species at 6-7 inches in legspan. The Southwest has a wide variety of S. polymorpha, hence the name.

  • Is it true Tiger Centipedes are burrowers ? that you nearly don't see them ?

Btw cool vid:P i like these kinda centipedes

  • They're not deep burrowers. I usually find them under rocks, though they will take the opportunity to occupy empty burrows of other animals.

  • when will it be finished eating

  • pinky mice get eaten by everything lol

  • gustavfranco obviously has quite a bit to say on this subject! and what do those eat, the whole mouse, only the blood or just part of it? and live mice can be cheaper if you keep a few breeders in a cage at home, so you have an almost unlimited supply and never have to buy any. sweet 'pede, btw

  • They eat the whole mouse, but I'm not exactly sure on bones. I wouldn't expect so, but, then again, I don't know the details of their digestion process.

Breeding mice is a smelly affair and dispatching them prior to feeding isn't pleasant. It's much more convenient to just buy them frozen.

  • yeah, i have a boa and hes HUGE tiny when i got him now hes like 6 feet, and he only eats a couple live rats every month or two, but the centepeds are pretty neat little guys! i suppose breeding would be a slightly smelly project, but cheap if you keep a lot of animals that eat them, i have never really tried froxen rats, or really ever even seen them, but i suppose they are an efective food source, even if i personally prefer fresh meat. P.E.T.A People Eating Tasty Animals

  • The main argument against feeding live is the danger in enclosing your snake with another animal that's ready to bite. With supervision, nothing serious should happen, but the risk is still there. The mouse still has some capacity to defend itself as it's being constricted.

Most pet stores carry frozen. If not, you can buy in bulk online, which usually ends up being the cheapest option.

But, do what you will. With the video above, I can't be very judgmental.

  • that depends on the animal and how it kills its food.

meat is murder. tasty, tasty murder.

  • Whatever about the arguments. This is still a f*ckin cool pet to have!!

  • OMG thats awesome and scary too I didnt know they could be pets

  • The fact that been captive bred animals in any way exempt you from the clear intentions. what kind of educational purpose that has your video? see in a tiny box at a pet unusual eating a mouse. Neither an explanation on certain animal behaviors, just to see how a mouse is stripped, only those appealing to the morbidity of the people and encourage some with the same ideas as you see funny videos like this and hang up trying to get the more exotic pets possible from some exotic country.

  • Cool story, bro.

  • Gustavofranco,''You have REALLY bad english''.

  • Because there are people who just want to have exotic animals at home is that in different countries is a unique wildlife hunting wild animals such to be taken to places like the U.S. or Europe. As most are prohibited from being hunted down, trying to hide and move seamlessly to customs checks are carried in very small spaces basely, so that for every 1,000 animals, 90% die by axfisia, choking or crushed.

  • Pure excuzas to maintain whims, while humans still believe in right to manage the natural world at will, we will go from bad to worse. Trafficking in exotic animal species and is simply good business for people without escrupulos. If there will always be demand offering. And that can occur in educational videos on? Schools have put that of an animal of any kind in cages or tiny space, just to satisfy the stupid and morbid human curiosity.

  • You're aware that the construction of your residence displaced hundreds of animals? You contribute to the modern mass extinction in your consumption. It's unavoidable.

Have some perspective. Your morals are narrow and misguided. The simple act of existing in a developed country is going to cause a more significant impact on biodiversity than the collection of animals for the legal pet trade, which emphasizes captive breeding, ever will. Illegal trafficking is not the issue we're discussing.

  • We notice that you did not understand anything, not surprisingly, one can not expect anything from someone who has no respect for animals. This is not about who eats whom because it happens in the animal world, but when something induced by a human being, is another thing is that some people do not understand that animals have to leave them alone, if you really have affection for the animals that you keep a centipede in a box should be lower case when free in their natural environment.

  • I have used my animals as educational tools to promote conservation in the American Southwest. Telling someone that unrestricted land use will result in the extinction of a species means little to them. Letting them see the species, interact with it, and create lasting impressions of what needs to be preserved is a much more effective method.

The legitimate captive animal trade is a very good tool for increasing conservation awareness. It's a personal extension of the zoo concept.

  • So, the "no respect" comment is a bit unfounded. The majority of my animals are captive bred. The wild caught animals have been used to educate. I don't harvest and sell off hundreds of animals from the wild. I keep several representative individuals of native invert fauna.

Remember that we're talking about invertebrates here. They have little capacity for differentiating between nature and an emulation of nature as long as their needs are met. The mouse was feeder stock, bred to be food.

  • It's just a fancy yours keep an animal in these conditions and worse still posting videos of her captivity and the way you think with the right to control their lives and the mouse itself.

  • Actually, MORE invertebrate and vertebrate husbandry should be encouraged. If more hobbyists kept and bred exotics animals, there would be less of a need to harvest them from the wild. Look at Bearded Dragons as an example.

People aren't going to stop buying exotic pets--however, I only buy captive born and bred animals. I would guess that this centipede lived a long life where it was well fed and never had to worry about being eaten by a bird or reptile. In short, Centipede nirvana. Calm down.

  • no i'm only think about people who think animals are only a distraction in their lives, i hope someday they take revenge and the situation will be that you will convert in the distraction for your centipede.

  • I don't think "distraction" is the word you're looking for.

The only invertebrate I've fed a mouse to was this long-dead centipede. Live mice are expensive. I usually use crickets and frozen mice. I think you're suffering a bit from mammal chauvinism, since I don't see you protesting my videos where live invertebrates are eaten.

The mouse in the video was bought to entice a Hognose Snake to eat. That didn't happen, so the mouse would have starved to death if not fed to something else.

  • maybe you wanna 10 feet centipede to get inside your ass,,,after that the centipede put her eggs into your anus and then they will feed your body

  • You mad?

  • i hope someday the centipede eat his owner

  • I'd love a 10 foot centipede.

  • Not trying to be offencive in anyway, but what's the purpose of having a centipede? please reply :o

  • What's the purpose of having a fish?

    The person probably likes fish.

    To each their own.

  • yes but a fish cant crawl out of their bowl and bite your bum and kill you

and some fish are really responsive

centipeades just bite kill eat and lay there looking formidable and gross

  • dude thats kool its like devoaring the brain sick xD

  • i love this animals

  • wish i can join him,,lol i had one on my hand today

  • I got bit by one like that before and it hurt for like 3 days but I did go to the hosptial and they gave me a shot to get rid of the pain but the bite does not hurt as much as a large spider bite.

  • I love things like this. ahh Nature =D

  • are they poisionus??

  • Venomous.

  • One bite can result in the same effects as a snake bite....

  • ok google Giant Tiger Centipede thats what we have in Jamaica just chillin waiting for someone.....Laaawd have mercy

  • ye man, 40 leg is a serious ting, and they are poisonous, I caught one and gave it a lizard, one bite, dead.

  • LOL i like how u said cute sandals xD

  • in Jamaica we call these 'forty legs'

  • lepord geckos r way better

  • i have a leopard gecko and theyre not better pets. centipedes u dont really need to clean there tank that much at all. and a centipede is better in a fight too. but id prefer a leopard gecko.

  • Wow thats a big muma! imagine waking up with that chewing your ball sack...

  • hahahaha!!! EW, but haha!

  • absolutely cool, are giant centipedes really poisonous? if i saw one i would be really frightened but also fascinated, good video man.

  • lol that centipede is nasty! but its awesome how its eatin that pinkie GOOO CENTIPEDE

  • As a child, in camps in the jungle, we used to put these centipedes at the entrance of some tarantula's web. We expected confrontation, but the huge spider wouldn't dare come out, until the centipede got free of the entanglement and crawled away. They are strong and inspire respect.

  • This makes me sad.

    I despise these primordial horrors.

  • Well, you have to eat, you have to eat. If you were one, you would too.

  • its a way of life its just like you eating something...the world wouldnt even functions if it wasnt for predator preay cycles :S?

  • Dammit why do people even watch these videos if they're gonna make comments like "this makes me sick" or "this is horrible you should go to hell" IF YOU DONT LIKE IT STOP WATCHING THE F****** VIDEOS! by the way nice centipede, anubis.

    little tree hugger

  • xxUndeniablexx said: "wtf giant bug i'd feed the bug to my bird.. jesus a fucking insect feeds on a helpless baby mouse this video is fucked up"

Tell that to nature, countless animals die every day to other animals like this every day, its called "Survival of the Fittest".

  • XTREME VID

  • I had 1 time a walking branch but a centipede is so disgusting sorry that i say that but i do prefer a cat, when they kill a mouse its not so disgusting to see

  • kinda nasty...how long does it take it to eat the whole thing???

  • people who hate this shit and eat meat are hollow motherfuckers. When you see how the cows and chickens live on farm lots (and yes they are alot closer to a human being)and get mad at this your worthless.

  • then we should all eat calfs and chicks as soon as they are born.. lets all be carnivorious and eat each other like canibals

  • ...i dont think i like dogs very much...id rather prefer a cat...they r always kind...or loving...or playful...or maybe just lazy...and theyre so cute...

  • hey , you "tough" and "aggresive" guys that have centipedes or snakes for pets, and feed them with small animals and tape them, go fuck yourselves morons !!!! then the snake bites you one day and you wonder how this happened, since it was a very 'peaceful' pet... you are such morons... you are in tape as well ,enjoying these spectacles, but you dont know it yet morons...

  • YEAH FIGHT THE MOUSE KILLERS OVER YOUTUBE FUCK YEAH

But seriously, shut the fuck up.

  • ok shithead, i wont say a word...

  • THX broseph

  • ur the fucking moron

  • It´s just a matter of taste. Just because it´s taste, it doesn´t make it less twisted.

  • ive always wanted one but if it ever got out my mom would burn the house down to make sure it didnt touch her

  • lmao +1

  • centipede vs anaconda what's winner?hahahahaha

  • fucking seirously, why do u have centipede as pet?

  • Why not?

  • its a centipede, it has 45-100 legs, its an insect, its kinda ugly, want me to go on?..

  • Why keep a dog? They smell, they're loud, they tear up the house and furniture, make messes everywhere, need lots of attention, obnoxious, they're expensive, ugly, shed everywhere, they're hypoallergenic, need I go on?

Some people like to keep animals for interest sake. Bugs and reptiles are quiet, hypoallergenic, low maintenance, you can keep lots of them, they don't smell, they don't slobber all over everything or keep the neighbors up at night, , etc. They're just downright interesting. :)

  • you can pet dogs centipedes are poisonous

dogs can be affectionate centipedes can mutilate your fingers..

oh btw a dog only attacks if u keep pissing it off a centipede has a shorter temper..

  • Gross! Why would you want to touch a stinky dog? Some people don't like nasty stinky slobbery dumb dogs rubbing all over them and their furniture.

Its all a matter of interest and taste.

  • alot of dogs are actully quit tidy and even occasionaly tidy up after their owners..

  • Just not my thing, as bugs, snakes, and lizards aren't for others. I like clean animals. heheh

  • lol all animals are clean if u get em housetrained :p

  • Dogs shed hair, slobber, are noisy, get fleas, need vet visits, break things, expensive to care for, they're super dumb, they smell.......if my tarantula loses a leg or two or three, it grows back. :P

  • dogs only shed twice a year, they dont always slobber depending on size, sum are docile, not all get fleas, take care of them properly and they wont need the vet, they are not very expensive in comparison to other pets, they can be trained and sum are smart, they dont always smell, :3

  • if you dont like dogs, you have no soul. thats almost as bad as somebody who hates babies. weird ass

  • No, I just prefer clean animals that don't smell.

  • any animal on this earth has an odor. i have a snake and its cool, but it doesnt give a fuck about me just like any other reptile. they have no emotions. they just survive. dogs will defend you with there life.

  • If you're needy and need a dog to love you back, then hey, that's your thing, just not everyone's.

  • "dogs can be affectionate centipedes can mutilate your fingers.."

Mutilate your fingers?!? Ah ah, sure, they have a mortal laser beam.

P.S. I like dogs,but...dogs stink.Quiet and good dogs can attack and bite the owner, even the owner treat them well. Some dogs get mad without reason. This is more dangerous than a centipede, because we know that centipedes are a potential danger if we touch them.

  • mortal laser beam LOL LOL LOL LOL

  • 'must cost you a fortune for shoes.

  • this kicks ass...its so metal...\m/!

  • i love the cetipede, i found mice ugly all the way :P i just love it when you hear the chewing :P

  • Anubis, you are very bitchhhhhh

  • you are a bucket of shit. wtf did you expect from a titel like centipede eating mouse, a monkey eating a flower?!?! fuck off and o watch porn dumb fuck.

  • How can any of you knobs think this is natural? the natural thing is the fucking centipede, being in the wild finding food for it's self. Yeah its natural for the bastard thing to be hand fed food, erm no. So go and take your shitty comments and shove them where the fucking sun never shines!!!

  • i didnt think it was natural either i just didnt want to be spammed by idiots claiming this is what happens in the wild

  • ok i support the whole rule of nature crap but why the fuck are u feeding it with a mouse? much less a pinky? go and buy a fukin grasshopper or sumin

  • Don't be such an idiotic, butt fucking, cock-sucking, panty wearing, good for nothing little pansy. These creatures need to be fed a variety of animals including small mammals to sustain proper nutrition that they would be getting in the wild.

If you don't like this, then god damn it just stay out of here, shitforbrains. Getting all sensitive over something natural like this. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED AT HOW MUCH OF A PUSSY YOU ARE!

  • oh sure i shud be ashamed when your the asshole calling me everything udnerneath teh sun tell u what, goto a proper speaking class, then come back and tell me your reply there

YOU SHUD BE ASHAMED HOW MUCH OF A SWEARER YOU ARE

and 2. im a shitforbrained idiot buttfucking cocksucking pantywearing good for nuttin panzy pussy just for not liking a baby mouse not being fed to a fukin insect? piss off you retarded craplicker...

  • and btw theyd be getting the proper nutrition in the wild by getting it themselves not the owner buying and putting it into a tank with them.. just a fact, ;D

  • A dog or cat can get proper nutrition out in the wild, also. What is your point, genius? The spider is somebody's pet.

If you don't like seeing this, then why are you here? Nobody is forcing you to click you dumbfuck. Go wear your mother's dress or play with dolls or something.

  • the spider is the persons pet almost mainly so they can see it eat baby mammals

exscuse me but id like an honest answer to this question, why a taruntula instead of a cat or a dog or sumin u can stroke and hug shut up about the stroking i know u can stroke a taruntula.. just.. o.0?

  • sorry shudve said centipede in this scenario..

  • and also im not getting pissy but u failed to establish the fact that dogs and cats are alot larger plus they are not kept in tanks and cages PLUS the fact they are more able to get their own food because of the fact theyre larger...

  • The average backyard gives a cat or dog about the same amount of living space relative to their size.

They can't get their own food in a backyard now can they, lamebrain? Someone has to put food out for them.

  • wow ur.. not fully informed =\ cats do a little thing called *jumping fences and walls* ave u heard of it? and they hunt for their own food dogs.. well dogs arent let of a leash due to sum dog rights act done before year 2000 due to the fact sum people kept getting mauled by pitbulls.. =\

  • You think most of this "food" that cats would get on their own is already dead?

  • wtf does that have to do with this?..

  • You were crying over the centipede eating a mouse....

  • ok.. ill admit that and if i shut up about this crap can we be friends? i like the way you think your answers are very sophisticated, (yes im being honest :o)

  • What is wrong with you the1of0? It's a video on youtube, and not even a controversial one at that. calm down.

but as far as your argument, (which is unintelligent at best) the centipede would definitely not be eating a mouse in the wild. Stop acting like you're smarter than everyone: "These creatures need to be fed a variety of animals including small mammals sustain proper nutrition th
