@Locruid My bad; I just realized which comment of mine you were referring to; If you don't think the new '11 V6 Mustangs can run 13s, you need to go look at Motor Trend and Car and Driver's test results; they both run 13.7 with them; I've driven them myself sir and I can assure you they have a bigger pushback than any pre 2005 Mustang GT from the factory with the exception of a Terminator Cobra and a 2000 Cobra R. I'll gladly give you more links if you still think I'm inflating anything.

my 2000 v6 mustang definitly accelerates slower but the top speed would be much higher if it wasnt for the govner. when its at 117 mph it stops at 3500 rpms. i think i can get to 130 mph if i had the govner reprogrammed and had tires for that speed

I noticed a huge difference in my acceleration just from the cold air intake and exhaust work; And yea mine is still governed too; I'm buying a new SCT tuner this summer and shutting off the governor so I can see just what it can do. Like you said, I'm guessing 130, give or take. Have to put new tires on it before I try that speed though, haha

Since you're too young to remember the 80s, Ford used to offer the Mustang as an LX and a GT model. The GT was the 5.0 with all the luxury and performance features all included, however the "LX 5.0" was essentially a GT without any of the luxury features, essentially no power windows, power seats, locks, mirrors, fog lamps, extra body/aero cosmetic pieces, etc.....And guess what? The LX 5.0s were .3 or .4 faster than a GT of the same year because it weighed nearly 200 pounds less!!

Another update; The Roush gauges have been discontinued, so I have found another company that can manufacture a totally custom designed gauge from scratch for the car; then I'm going to add red LED lighting for it, graphics, my own name on it, etc.... 3250 which is the actual lowest weight number I have seen from a production model minus 2997 for my car with its weight reduction.........DUH is that 253 pounds? The GT/Cobra/Mach 1 guys never cease to amaze me with their "POS V6" remarks. You'd think they have the fastest car ever built. Never mind the fact that a '99 and up V6 hardtop manual will outperform nearly every stock pre '99 V8 'stang, and that the great majority of GTs out there are automatics and/or convertibles; very rare to run into a hardtop manual with a person who can drive it. I have defeated many GTs out there in that exact manner.

V6 haters are usually guys who think all V6s are automatic convertibles in the 4th of July or Homecoming parades and that all their owners are 17 year old girls or mid life crisis men. Well guess what? We're in this little economic crisis right now, and not everyone gets to be the son of the bank president and can afford the insurance rates, gas mileage (by the way, STFU about your GTs getting 26 mpg, it coldn't do that going downhill with a tailwind), and some of us have to compromise.

I got my '01 with only 26,000 original miles; everything on it was and is still immaculate; it was bought brand new in '01 by a 40 something year old woman who barely drove it because of being in the van with her kids. I've loved it ever since. Should I have bought a used GT of those years with twice the mileage, two or three times the abuse (good luck finding a GT hardtop manual that has NOT been treated like crap and driven hard AND has low mileage). A brand new Mustang GT weighs what, 3450 to 3650?? FAT! A GT-500=3850?? WOAH, Yes they make big power, but simple physics will never allow those fat asses to handle like a 3060 pound V6. And I'll back that up to any challenger

In terms of power, it came with 193 and 225 in torque from the factory. I'm at higher levels than that now, and plan to push 400 when I'm all done with this car. Put 375-400ish horsepower on a 3060 pound Mustang? Can you say SMOKIN???? "THAT"S BARELY 100 MORE THAN A NEW GT" Yep, but again, you have to consider power to weight ratio; 300 hp on a 3450 to 3550 pound car versus a 400 hp on a 3000 pound car, no contest.

There's always a bigger fish (you V6 haters should remember that one); I will have a 12 second car that returns 28.1 miles per gallon on the highway (that was driving 53 mph with occasional city driving too, 29 or 30 is possible), insurance companies still think it's a V6, and it looks just as sweet and bad ass as any of those V8 bodies running around. Amen, and thanks for your comment. Most of the "that's a POS V6" comments are from people who either haven't driven one or think that their GT, Z28, or whatever is the king of the world. The V6s of '99 to the present are VERY capable performers, even more so with basic bolt ons added. My car in its current form has suprised many people already. And I am planning on headers, 65 mm throttle body, and tuner chip in the coming weeks as well, so once I do I'll make a new video, stay tuned.

The best numbers I've ever gotten out of it were a 0-60 of 6.1 and a 0-100 time of 17.0 Not too bad honestly. I don't have an exhaust vid, but it does sound very good for being a V6. Not a high pitched ricy sound, just a good throaty sound.

I considered removing the spare and some other parts but with my luck I would need it the next day; don't worry about your top end, I don't like to drive much more than 110 on the roads I have around here, especially at this time of the year. What type of tires and what size are you running on it? I usually launch around 2000 to 2500 is where I spin just a little bit but not too much to go up in smoke; I'll go with the GT's rear when I do some more power adders this summer; I've got a lot of ideas for her this summer. dude a stock v6 stang 5 speed is in mid to low 7s maby high 6 iiiiiiiiif ur a pro driver.....i but a lame auto so stock iv done it in high 7s....but most autos do its around mid 8s... our mustangs v6 are base model cars tho not all quick but damn fast 4 a base model car........if u buy that 6 dnt buy an auto ull regret it trust meeeeeee
