This video is strikingly odd, yes. But you can't look at a video like this and try to compare it to everything else out there. The video was meant to be abstract, and I think the director pulled it off extremely well. It's what I like about Austra, to be honest. They're a quirky and odd band, which is what I think makes them shine. You can call the video shit or 'hipster', but at least it isn't the same old regurgitated crap we see in modern music videos these days. Refreshing is the right word.
