  • Nice laser....but it seems as if you filmed this video with a laser

  • one step further to starwars! :)

  • All that for 400 mW I have a 445nm DIODE laser that is over 1.2W (>1200mW)

  • @budabob07 I'd like to see you burn anything white with a blue ray laser

  • Careful you dont burn your hand!!

  • all that for a measly 400mw?

  • Where in the world do you manage to get argon?

  • nice

  • Ok... it does the same thing as a magnyfing glass but it cost $300.000 times more?

  • an argon ion laser...interesting indeed.

  • It burns through paper in under 2 minutes. Just think of the applications!

  • It was used for DNA sequencing before I got it to use for professional laser shows.

  • That's awesome, also thanks for posting the vid. I've been a fan of lasers since I was a kid in the early 1980s. I remember learning about ruby lasers back in 5th grade and found the whole concept fascinating (photons aligning along the axis of the ruby rod, the flash tube and reflective mirrors on either side)

  • Cool.

  • WOW! your a total faggot!! Congrats fag!

WOW! your a total faggot!! Congrats

    WOW! your a total faggot!!

    WOW! your a total

    WOW! your a

    WOW! your

    your

  • WOW! Thanks FAG!! For what?! For totally being my bitch!! Thats what!! Congrats FAG!!

  • Pwnd

  • i was wondering if these still reflect off a mirror er something, or would the mirror burn

  • reflect a large part of the laser, and a few %age absorbed and heating the mirror

  • yeah, get some scissors.

  • surely u cud of thought of something more exciting to burn than paper....

  • put a magnifying glass in front of it and youve got a home security system

  • The beam is damn thin as it is !

  • make a trap that has 4000mW so when a trespasser comes by it will burn their leg. :)

  • That's 4 watts dipshit.

  • 400mw = 0.4 W

    1000mW = 1 W

Learn about stuff before you speak please

  • he JUST said 4000Mw fucktard

  • Read the title of the video sweetie

  • Skuse me, description

  • Don't give me that bullshit. You know there's a problem with replies not after the comment on youtube. Mine was a reply fucker now stfu.

  • What are you talking about....

  • there's a comment 2 or 3 pages back that say IMAGETA 4000MW LASER

  • What does that have to do with anything?

  • so what if it does. most commenters are retards anyways...

  • He was just putting it in a more specific term DUMBASS

  • It would hurt a lot if they were stood still.

  • o shit is it coming out of that giant box

  • Yup. It's about two feet long.

  • @iPig yeah the size of my dick

  • whats an Argon lasor?

  • sau

  • haha my xbox live gamertag is Argon Laser lol

  • shit that would hurt......

  • It does.

  • What does the laser burn on when the paper's not there?

  • maybe they break the light in the end with a prism etc

  • hehe argon lasers got a beautiful color ;)

    what wavelength is it?

  • It's a multi-line laser, so it's a combination of i believe 6 or 7 wavelengths. I don't remember exactly what they were. It can be tuned to a violet-like color to a pale green.

  • ah ok thx :)

  • it's tunable ? What make / model is it ? Not seen a tunable argon yet :P

  • Holy crap, that is awesome. You win the internet.

  • Wattage isn't that high, really.

Although white paper was the worst choice of target. White reflects light energy pretty well.

Probably less than a watt. If it were five watts it would have sliced through that paper in seconds.

  • these guys (people commenting) know nothing about lasers

    -_-

    Nice laser though :D

  • very usefull

  • hows it fake nobody could make burning paper that thin or sell it!!! That laser is real

  • oh and something else:

i guess you can burn your hand also on this thing... if it can burn white paper it should also heat/burn you ;), right?

  • is such a white-blue laser as powerful as red.. or maybe green ones?

is the laser beam visible at night?

if you have a green 10 mw laser and a red laser. the green one is visible clearly at night. the red one has to be 100mw + to be visible.

how much did u pay for it :D?

  • fake. the paper is not burning. nice fake laser.

  • W L?

  • You sped it up. =P Still cool that it can burn white, though. However long it may take. ;)

  • Wrong.

  • Sorry but that smoke was just moving too fast. =(

  • I dunno what to tell you buddy. It isn't sped up.

The laser is air-cooled and there are three rather large (noisy too) fans blowing air around.

  • You wrote WL, does that stand for Wicked Lasers? im referring to the website

  • It does.

  • So why do you have this thing at home? Besides the fact it looks amazing.

  • I was using it some for photography effects. And to have some fun :)

  • hope you got goggles.

  • hey ipig where did you bought this laser

  • IS that a white lazer?? :o

  • Nope. It's more of a cyan blue.

  • how much power is that one putting out? about 1/2 a watt?

  • Yup.

  • ok then

  • yea dont the military have like lasers that can blow up missiles or sumthin lol

  • they do...but that was a size of an 18 wheeler...if you mean micro plasma cutting instrument then that should be the way of the future (aka light sabers butter knife? lol)...but for now water jet steel cutting are pretty damn effective.

  • i would love to cut butter with a light saber!!

  • when do u think they will make a laser pen that can cut threw steel like in the movies or sumthin

  • Probably not for a very very long time. No diode laser that I know of is capable of cutting steel. If you wanted to cut steel with a laser, you'd have to use a fairly large co2 laser.

  • how do lasers burn i mean its just light

  • Light is pure energy. Why does the Sun or even a lightbulb give off heat? It's the same thing.

  • where does the laser point at, when ur not burning the piece of paper .. ?

  • What a beautiful color! I want one, even if it's puny.

  • what do you use that for?

  • There are many laboratory applications for a laser like this, but this one is/was used for laser shows.

  • o cool

  • ive seen better

took long enough for it to burn.

  • dude its only 400mw

  • You now have a 10k usd machine that can burn paper. Congratulations! :P

  • I don't have it solely for burning paper.

    :P

It just so happens to burn paper.

  • blue lasers are extremely expensive, and a 400mw argon laser is not very common and even more expensive. THUMBS UP!

  • That's a very nice laser!

Is the light coming from an argfon laser visible with the eyes or only with a camera? It looks like light blue, but is it actually that color?

  • Yeah, its visible to our eyes. The camera actually does a really good job at capturing the color of it.

  • Alright, thanks!

  • how much did that cost?

  • About $11,000 after refurbishment.

  • EH my 5gw yeah thats right gw could burn that in less than 1year

  • You could do a lot more than that.

  • this isnt 400mW trust me my modded 75mW can burn through 5 sheets of black laminated paper (every sheet laminated) in less than a minute

  • Yeah, BLACK paper. Try that with white paper.

And I'm positive this is unit is putting out 400mW. Truuust me :)

  • thast shit

  • holy shit!!!!!!!!!!

  • O.O..cool

  • nice

  • Yeah, I would've killed (and that says a lot because I'm more against killing than the average person) to go to the London Live 8 concert, and they only played six songs! I can't even imagine what lengths I'd go to to see a full-length Floyd concert. O_O

  • Wow, what a tedious task. :P

Pretty awesome video.. I don't know much about lasers themselves, but I DO go to laser shows a lot, and love them with a passion. My local laser dome is currently showing Floyd, Leppelin, Grateful Dead, Rush, and RHCP, which are all my fav bands, so I spend a lot of time there. :)

Hey, maybe I should stop rambling.

  • Thats awesome. I wish there was a place like that in my area. A while back I went to a Floyd laser show and it was really great. Not long after that I saw Roger Waters perform the Dark Side and some other early stuff. It was a really great concert.

  • Wow, same for me. The first ever laser light show I ever went to was Dark Side, then I saw Roger on October 10th, like a week after the show. The concert was absolutely beeeeeeeeautiful. It was my first concert, so I don't think I can ever fully enjoy another concert again. Plus, I'm totally obsessed with Pink Floyd, so that made the concert soooo much better.

  • It was my first concert too! The band did a really good job at capturing that Floyd sound, but I still hope they have one more re-union concert. It would be cool to see the real Pink Floyd just once.

  • mullema disagrees with everyone about the power of their lasers.

You should have disabled comments lol.

    This is Soulbow from LaserCommunity.

  • that cant be 400mw

  • What makes you disagree?

  • Don't even try to par with these morons. They don't know jack about lasers. That thing must be doing close to 1W! Nice!

  • You must use a yellow or red paper instead of white and will have more fire.

  • Actually black would be the best, but the point of this video is that the paper is white, therefore making it more difficult to burn.

  • you can get lazers that burn stuff for 199.99 at wickedlasers . com

look for the pulsar and the nexus

  • I know. I have a few, but the power of this laser is greater than the ones they sell. It's also a gas laser, not a diode/DPSS .

  • how much power does that thing use and where can i get one

  • It uses 240V and a lot of amps. They show up on ebay a lot. This particular one was about $11,00, but much lower power ones can run as cheap as $400.

  • u paid 11,000 to burn paper...nice

  • It's for laser shows. Genius.

  • ....u paid 11,000 to burn paper...nice

  • you burn paper at lazer shows? i dont get it..

plus for 11,000 i could get myself a flame thrower, infact 2 flame throwers, then we will have a burning contest

  • No idiot. The laser is for laser shows. I was just burning the paper for fun.

  • its like a magnifying glass

  • That's just awesome!

  • you sad looser

  • I knew you from the forum of wicked lasers I used to be on there under gngrb1. I remember proctor too havent been on wicked lasers these days

  • Kick ass! What do you think wwould happen if you shined that thing at a mirror so it burned itsself? That would be cool.

  • nice.. i'd like to see the same with black paper

  • Black paper goes way faster. It instantly punches holes and leaves a smouldering(spelling?) ember.

  • Hey, iPig, it's me, Tatsu from WL forums, I have been busy lately and dont' come very often. What's the nm range on that there Argon? give me the details, looks like it's 435.

  • I'm not sure of the wavelengths. I think it has 7 lines, but I'm not sure.

  • o.o Awesome! ^o^

  • niiice! :)
