  • A genius!

  • This sounds like L's theme from deathnote

  • Some of it scares me some of it is relaxing.... Changes melody more than once. I like music that doesnt make sense :]

  • Bought this album at Makro, this reminds me of our journeys to Anglesey....30 years ago

  • Almost 40 years ago I bought the very 1st release on vinyl which i have played so often that you can hear the flip side now :)

  • I can sort of play this..

  • i can play this :D well... the first melody... A E B C G C E C E D B C E :DDDDD

  • As far as i remember, nobody would record his work, so he made his own recording company, wauu what a sucess...

Hi is proberly my favorit artist.. Hope to se him one day at a concert in Denmark..

  • I haven't seen that movie but this song scares me

  • bassie en adriaan ;p

  • @goliprop Wooden shoe humor

  • This is great 70s' music.

  • it is soooooooooo catchy it just gets stuck in your head!!!!

  • deathhhh nnnooottteee

  • This song actually makes me scared...

  • L theme much?

  • @12345zaim it sounds like L's theme and Near's theme mixed.

  • This was the definitive Halloween/horror music until the Halloween theme came out.

  • this song is even in the serie Bassie en Adriaan in Holland

  • Nice

  • Classic, even if 'The Exorcist' puked on it

  • my dad had the lp...

  • @pookymoh So did mine =)

  • I own this on CD. It has taken some time, but I finally got over the whole Exocist association. That movie was stupid really. This is a good song, and is best taken independently from the film.

  • IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !!!!!!!!!!

  • Have to do this song for my GCSE Dance exam tomorrow, so nervous!

  • @KiwiiLemoon How'd the exam go?

  • @megalordnick92 the video you loor for is called Sentinel which is from Tubular Bells II

  • Sounds like a song youd hear on halloween or the scary part in an 80s movie when there's no audio.

  • Spookiest song ever

  • du grand MIKE OLDFIELD

  • Guys I want to find the tubular bell music video but I cant find it... I think the video was about indians, flying tomahawks and faces in the sky!I If someone know the link of the video please reply :) Great music

  • still an awesome piece of music

  • This song is also used in a Dutch serie called Bassie and Adriaan.

  • This movie scared the living hell out of me, and whenever I hear this music it does something to me. I can't quite describe or explain, it just creeps me out.

  • Brilliant.....!

  • TheSonic497, really?

  • This song makes me think of imps and sprites. xXx

  • love it,if you can get away from it being the theme of a horror movie it has a alluring erotic sound

  • @reptileman117, @novadrian, it may be semantics but Tubular Bells is the ALBUM NAME so yes it is Tubular Bells, but the album has tracks...the 4+ minute piece in this "video" is named Sentinel. Here's the kicker, M. Oldfield renamed songs. Tubular Bells is a 25+ min. long composition that includes the piece here. He split it up into TB II and named each track. The name to the intro to T.B. or Track 1 on TB II is Sentinel.

So, I am not "WRONG"...it just happens to be that we are all correct.

  • The song sounds like death note L's theme!

  • @kubul1000 thats because death note stole this song.

  • The first three seconds sound the most awsome

  • Lol, I'm sure this played on total wipeout.

  • @RabidDingo12: I don't know where you got that idea from. I also have Sentinel on my iPod and it came out much later. This is song is in fact Tubular bells and there is only one track on the album (well technically two): Tubular Bells Part 1 and Tubular Bells Part 2.

  • @reptileman117 One cool thing about this album is that Mike did all of the instruments played on it! I cannot remember how many there were, but quite a few...and all played by him!

  • @RabidDingo12 WRONG! The name of the whole piece is Tubular Bells. The first release on Virgin records.

  • @novadrian That is correct.... That what I said. One track: Tubular Bells.

  • @reptileman117 Sentinel has two versions - first one is an opening theme of Tubular Bells II, while second is a single released by Oldfield the same year as TB II (1992). The single version is shorter, more dynamic. Both versions were released long after Tubular Bells I, which somewhat denies RabidDingo12's "theory" ;)

  • @novadrian

here's the 2nd Part which iz released in 1992

    watch?v=OmDSL9EHsuA

  • This is such a good song I have the main part of it as a ringtone on my cell phone. Well done.

  • This song always freaked me out

  • so getting this on itunes

  • bardzo relaksujące

  • i dont know why but it reminds me of the game "Heavy Rain" .. melancholic, sad and raiin

  • Damn! Skiped the best part!

  • What the hell is so funny about a 12 year old girl acting like that?!

  • Wow. Watch the movie.

  • I didn't find the exorcist scary to be honest.. In fact I thought it was funny. It was probably the scaries film back in it's first release but not now when there are scarier films like paranormal activity aha

  • @NiamhyyBeanss yes and this has to do with the song how?? the music was not written for the movie, it was used in it

  • Doet me denken aan bassie en adriaan

  • das Beste was er veröffentlicht hat, es erinnert mich an viele gute Nächte!

  • Honestly, I really didn't find "the exorcist" that scary... I've read the book and seen the movie, and I really didn't get what was so scary about them; they were good, but not perticularly scary. Jesus, that was probably the most repetitively redundant comment ever XD

  • I just almost stoped the song because it remainds me about horror, The Exorcist yeah...

  • Only part of this intro section appears in The Exorcist - actually the whole piece is worthy of praise on its own merits. I'd recommend anyone to listen to the whole record if you get the chance, there's much more to it than a horror soundtrack :)

  • @tjf4375 Actually, this piece makes me think of rain falling gently into puddles instead of devils, relaxing.

  • @cheapcape

I love you! You're listening to the same song as me! <3

This song is the reason I've never seen the Exorcist.

Well, this whole album is the reason I've never seen the Exorcist. I don't want a stupid movie to ruin it for me.

  • @elrhiarhodan The Exorcist if one of the best horror movies and a classic of its genre. Stop with the fanaticism shit and learn to enjoy more than one thing.

  • where can it be downloaded?

  • Das allerbeste von Mike Oldfield!!! Thx fürs reinstellen!!!

  • Listen to this song, when you are home alone at the night.. I wouldn't do that! ; S

  • @TheGNRfan94 dunnit

  • @TheGNRfan94 If you think thats frightening listen to pendorecki (victims of hiroshima) At home alone in the dark:p

  • @reptileman117 I like the song the first time I heard it was over in majorca and don't watch the film because I just read about and I couldn't sleep and it was banned from tv

  • @The1Mickonator Actually, it's not banned from TV, they just rarely ever show it, as a matter of fact, I saw it a month ago on TV :P

  • @reptileman117 the film is great, but the song is better, so you don't have missed too much :)

  • Hey I just realised that if you listen carefully you can hear not the spookiness but the notes over and over again thumbs up plz :D

  • this song is so creepy, imma use it in som o my videos

  • carol of bells was also called tubular bells at one point but not anymore, this song is spooky but kool :)
