  • dont make music like that anymore..

  • one of the hottest bands ever, all four of them have the charisma of a frontman

  • I love this song. I remember it from the flip side of the Fox on the Run single. They were a little before my time, but my older brother had the single. It was awesome.

  • The Sweet are the best! I loved them in the seventies and I still do! Thanks Andy for all the great gigs. See you soon on the road. Hopefully you come over to Belgium in 2012.

  • was my fav. song back the days..

  • I love watching Steve inching back one step at a time, then making a quick getaway around 1:35. Heard he clashed with the video director over the flame prop. I love that punk!

  • great proto heavy speed rock, magnificent sound love this guys

  • This is unbelivable ...but it is live...how to explain the big improvisation in the middle...theres nothing to do with the studio version. But theres some thing with the guitar clearly a second guitar or keybord is there

  • @beroth77 According to Steve Priest in his book: on shows like this around '74-'75, they had to re-record the songs on site earlier in the day before filming, due to music union regulations at the time. On some videos, like Solid Gold Brass, you can see that the instruments are tracks but the vocals are live. On this one, look at Mick's drums, you can see foam circles taped over the heads.

  • @intuantu You must be right ....its weird some things you can see are live and others look pre recorded. Thanks for theinformation

  • Damn they were great.

  • @jon1156 All i Know is that it sounds a lot different and even better than the version I heard as a kid. The B-side of Fox on the Run. I also do not hear any overdubbing.

  • And it is live!

One of my all time favorites!

  • @747pike Sorry but it's a lip sync (no mics on the drums and one guitar player playing two parts at the same time).

  • Very cool song, I love Brian! I must say he reminds me of Robin Zander in Cheap Trick and maybe a bit like Uriah Heep!

  • Late 70s, early 80s! I love this song! 1982! Sweet's Burn On The Flame!

  • still big !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Pity their early bubblegum stuff always hung around their necks. This is a fantastic hard rocking track and is up with there with their 70s peers - the ones they aspired to like The Who and Purple. Will have to get the album this is from. Also was a track this good really on a b side?

  • @keith904A yes,sadly...it was only a b-side. In America,it was the flip of "Fox On The Run",as well as a few other countries, but in England,it was the flip of another single.

  • no more glam pop. these boys wanna go hard rock/heavy metal, and show they have balls! works for me!

  • 1:30 this is the video that Steve Priest walks off in the middle of the performance on because he was mad about something

  • @addadiktome -I think he'd worked out from watching the monitors that there were NO close ups of him during the performance....he was being ignored by the camera crew, so decided to bail out. ?

  • @rrbh actually - I just read in the Sweet Block Buster book, Steve walked off set because he was pissed off with the stupid set design -blowing strips of glitter to replicate flames !

  • Eu adoro essa música, para mim é uma das melhores do sweet, é um som muito estimulante!

  • MANIAC GENIUSES

  • This is off Supersonic .... pop prog on weekdays on itv used to come in from school and literally freaked out when Sweet were on ..my fave band ...Sure they did set me free on this as well

  • top tune takes me back, thank you very much for posting A*

  • Un intro di devastante bellezza!

  • one of the best rock bands ever

  • Love the way Steve Priest just walks off at 1:30 :)

  • grew up in the seventies listening to the sweet

still as awesome today as they were then

  • @trevorstern1 They are timeless. One of the first ten 45's I owned was a copy of "Little Willie". When that came out, who knew hard they could rock? They were great!

  • Didn't know about the story of Steve walking off....incredible! This in your face version rocks, rolls and knocks your fucking teeth out! Absolutely brilliant!

    Cheers

    Blockbuster

    Blockbuster

  • krevice - It`s included as a bonus track on the CD reissue of Desolation Boulevard, that is the British version of the album and not the US compilation with the same title and cover.

  • かっこよくて、かっこよくて、かっこいい!!

    こんなの観れるなんて、生きててよかったぁ!!!

  • can anyone tell me wherei can dind a audio of this version. love that break

  • Loved them when I was 10....still love them now I'm 45 - just as much.

  • @hugobear1 Thats right, me to ,that was the funniest time ever, regards

  • @hugobear1 im 52 and they were awesome

  • WHY don't more classic rock stations play these guys?!!?? They play songs from lesser known bands of the same era. They are doing their stations and listeners a dis-service.

  • i saw them just last night, they played in a pretty small venue and it was only half full but it was great, this was the second song of the concert after Hellraiser

  • eflint1...You should call the request line if they have one. Ask the DJ's why you don't hear more of the Sweet. There are a lot of fans...

  • @charmingasalways EXCELLENT SUGGESTION!

  • I was reading in wickapedia that alot of times the band would put one of their own songs on the flip side of singles. a good way to get Their songs out there.

  • Yes absolutely the b side to fox on the run 100% gaurenteed. Not as catchy,I think they were trying for a heavier sound on this track. The b side debate may have something to do with north american releases and uk releases

  • I have it in my hand. This is the B side of The SixTeens. Brilliant stuff.

  • How come two people say they`ve got the single, yet one says it`s the b-side of The Six Teens, and the other says it`s the b-side of Fox On The Run. I thought it was the b-side of The Six Teens, and Miss Demeanor the b-side of Fox On The Run.

  • mine is on the flip side of fox on the run

  • This was b side to fox on the run....i still have the 45...great song which stands on its on...great to see them play this...awesome...they influenced so many bands...

  • sweet on supersonic sept 75 amazing

  • This is one of the band's best tracks.

  • Ehm, I meant the B-sides. But still, I like this very very much.

  • This is one of their best songs in the subtop of their songs!

    A fan from Holland

    13 years

  • B side to "Fox On The Run"

  • Why left Steve during the show?

    What was the reason?

  • He was more than a little upset with the prop guy. The prop guy promised to take down that fan and flame thing. Steve said they looked stupid. He also said he won't play if they don't come down. Well, he left after about 90 seconds...

  • ah! Thank you.

  • But it sounded like the bass was still playing and it doesn't seem like they are lip syncing it.

  • I don't see lip syncing...you see that? It looks live to me. It looks normal. But some videos have a problem lining up the timing of the video to the music and they're a second off. I read Steve's book. He would have mentioned if they made him lip sync or not, I think.

  • Hi charm, have you read the new bio of Brian. "The man who sang Blockbuster" ? How was Steves' book?

  • No I haven't gotten around to looking for that book. Steve's book was good. He's so funny. It's a blast to read. He signed the book too.

  • It seems like Steve has a constant sence of humor. Does he take a light look at the music indust.? Hey! Is that a double neck guitar that Andy has?

  • eflint1 - about lip syncing....Steve totally walked out on the performance. So there would be no bass playing for like 60 percent of the performace. You know for this video, someone might have taken the music from this same song and put it to this video so that when the video was presented the music would sound right. I'm sure they played this live just like that, and less the bass guitar for half the song!

  • It was definitely live. Andy's guitar performance is different than on the studio version. There is one station here in centrl Florida that plays MANY album cuts from Sweet. That is Rock 100 WDIZ. They have live streaming. Blog d o t rock100diz d o t c o m

  • the only explanation for there being no bass guitar player and hearing bass guitar on this video was that it was a similar, but different, show and the audio was playing with the video from this show.

It was no big secret that Steve was going to walk out if the prop guy didn't take down that flame thing. Steve told the prop guy. That guy said he would. He should have.

  • I think Steve mentions in his book that they would show up and record a version of the song before the audience arrived, then sing live along to the track. It's hard to see, but Mick's got these white foam mufflers on his drumheads. They look like regular white coated heads.

  • The vocals are multitracked so there is no way this is live.

  • @nigelwright7557 i dont know about this one,but i saw some certainly live performances of sweet just amazin vocals unbelivable precise check it out

  • @intuantu did you see Steve walk off? He was pissed because he told the stagehand to take the display down. It looked stupid. They left it. He kept giving them looks. Finally he just walked off...it's in the book. I think it's a riot.

  • Sweet Slade, hehe. Yeah I was alive then!!!

  • I would kill to live in the seventies...

  • @iceclimbers1

    yeah.. agree with you :)

  • @iceclimbers1 no thanks, btdt. Pinto, butterfly collars, polyester pant suits and don't get me started on the checked suits etc.

  • Yes, Jared, they were referred to as the godfathers of glam.

  • Keep your eyes on Steve Priest. Now you see him....now....lol...there's a story behind that.

  • Brian looks fresh here but you hardly get to see the others..

  • You hardly get to see the others because of the annoying display and that's why Steve Priest walked off during the performance.

  • Is that true charmingasalways -- Steve didn't like the set???

  • Huuueh...

At 2:25 they've spiced it up.

Thats not on any other recordings.

    Just love the drive....

  • Supersonic TV show! And this was a B-side to The Six Teens single.

  • Rocking!!!
