@iluvtrance69 No, it's "cool". You could change your channel's backcolor, so people could read and check how annoying you are, you won a lot of "fans", undoubtedly.
State Of Consciousness (Tweekin' Acid Funk)
A little off the subject, but I know you also use ableton as well. Do you know if its possible to use the jog wheel to manipulate tracks for example scratching? I haven't been able to map anything to the wheels yet.
BTW, I didn't mentioned about a future featuring between Serato and Ableton because I thought it would be fake, but I've just read about it again. Seems to be true, so we'll be looking forward into.
Look for "Namm 2010 THE BRIDGE Serato and Ableton Namm". Haven't seen yet...
I see you're using the TTD-2400 turntable from American Audio there... Is it any good? I've been thinking about getting one, mostly due to the price. Can't seem to find any reviews on it really, which is rather odd...
It works for djing, but having in mind you won't be able to perform scratching, because of the cartridge and the whole system quality, but it's just enogh for mixing.
I liked it because it looks like a SL1200 MK2 and because it's the cheapest turntable I found (95€). I only needed to play vinyls, so...
P.S.: Next month I'll get a brand new Technics, so I'll be ready for everything! :P
hehehe, yeah, I liked it for the very same reasons, and I'm considering one because of it. Thanks for the heads up on scratching, albeit I figure I wouldn't be doing any scratching even if I could afford myself a set of 1210s. I feel bad for the records... ;)
Same for me, at the far end you usually never do scratching, so why worry about it?
But, man, I have to bring to light something... Between your request and my answer, my wife gave me a brand new Technics SL1200 MK2!!!, because of the 3 Kings.
I knew one day I'd have one, and my dream came true last night!!! Wow!!!
Have in mind Technics is stopping turntables assembly line in february, so it will be harder and harder getting one.
Yeah well, the non-1200 series ones aren't that much to cheer for now are they. =P
I mean, I have two HiFi grade Technics turntables. They sound great, can't really use'em for DJing however. Well, with a slight mod I may be able to, but why bother.
Thanks for the URL and heads up though. Hopefully it's a marketing scam from Panasonic, seeing how this rumour all seems to stem from One online store in Australia a month before Christmas. Also, Panasonic denies these claims, but not really... Odd.
nice try, but you need to do a better job of keeping the three records in sync. Your off beat too much. Use the software where possible to sync up the tracks. Also i didn't really like your "fader action". track selection was nice.
Worst of all is I agree with you, sometimes it goes a bit confusing. Anyway, I don't like to use sync by software and I tried to do it like three real turntables, with no help.
beatmatching by ear is not very easy, and when you are working with more than 2 songs at once it is very hard to hear which record is too slow/fast. So it helps when they are easily distinguishable (one baseline, one vocal, and one melody) It is nice to see people try this even when they have software synch available. keep it up

thomcor1 2 years ago
Hi, no Ableton doesn't allow making scratching, but once I saw a way of configuring them for effects, for example.
I remember it worked through a third party addin or something related to.
I'll figure it out because is quite interesting.
