  • Omg thankyou@simmyguitarman Thats so much easier

  • I'm scared the string will snap lol

  • what does D# mean cuz thts wht my tuner is telling me? and how can i use my tuner to get my acoustic guiar to drop d

  • uhm... im like a beginer and how would i know if its in drop d D:

  • Thanks a lot mate!

  • oh i get it

  • wait wtf that makes no sence.. low E is lower than d.. how do you tune it down to sound like it? o.O

  • @TheLeoAndujar because it is DROP D, so means it still the D's chord, but lower from the standard D sound. for instance, u may look at keyboard key, n u'll find many chords (from A to G) repeated almost 3 times. so u would notice that there would be many KEY of each chord.

  • what kind of guitar is that?

  • thanks man....i just learned how to tune my guitar into drop d:D

  • im sorry but im a COMPLETE beginner in guitar playing so i dont know how to tune to drop d. so i dont get this video and any other one on youtube, if you gotta make the E string sound like the D string why do you tune down? arent you supposed to tune up? because the D string is a higher pitch. please help me out

  • Cant you use a tuner for this?

  • if your a guitarist then obviously you know what d tuning is

  • thanks man! its nice and simple and easy to understand (Y) *****

  • thanks mate needed it to play killing in the name thanks.

  • thr is an easier way...just make the 7th fret on the Estring sound the same as an open A string

  • @simmyguitarman omfg finnally something that makes sense, ive been watching about 10 videos and still cant figure it out, FINALLYYY someone who tells u the easy way >.< ughh

  • Thx :D

  • here

hit the harmonic on the 12th or 24th (if you have an electric) fret on your low e string and hit the d string at the same time. then tune down, its a bit easier . unless youre tone def

  • its called octaves

  • lol , Kinda helpful... but you should probably explain more, they don't sound the same...

  • The pitch must be the same not the sound

  • wtf i dont get it it doesnt sound like the d string and isnt the d string a higher note so wouldnt you be makeing you e tuned higher?? WTF

  • lol i know they dont sound alike at all

  • thats not even full drop d though dude its just your 1st string

  • Very helpful, thanks.

  • thanks for helping me.. brake my string :)

  • thanks man!

  • how to tune it 1 1/2 steps down?

  • Comment removed

  • an octave lower is 12 frets down. yeah same note different pitch.

  • Do you have a video for half step tuning?

  • wow...when i first got my guitar years ago, i accidentally did this...interesting

  • YOU OWE ME A NEW STRING!!!! I tuned the low E string to sound like the high E string and it broke!!!! Thanks a lot!

  • its supposed to be an octave lower.

  • What the heck is an octave lower?

  • ROFL, not the same pitch, the same note... its common sense.

  • same thing happened here. oh well better go buy a new string. ^^

  • wow thanks, thats really helpfull !

  • omg noobs lol (joke)

  • thanks!

  • im a bit tone deaf... huhuhuhh... but this is really easy!!! tnx!!!

  • wow, i thought it was complicated! thank you! ^^

  • thanks!!

  • Thanks man!

  • ahahahh ill try it

  • why?

  • my way is different. i dont know if its easier but all i do is hit the 7th fret on the E and make it sound the same as the A

  • your supposed to make it soud the same as D

  • it does .i dont know how but it puts it in drop d . it was always easier for me

  • huh im gonna try that

  • i got a gig next fri and i dont know how to tune it in to drop d yet

  • the high e is an e. what kind of stament is that. LOL. but it is a good vid.

  • I like your voice xD

  • wait hold up

how can u tune it in a tuner???

  • ...My E string snapped while trying to tune it in drop D...it's fckin confusing.

  • haha sucks to be you man

  • hey mine 2.. i have to go buy one.. ._.

  • You probably tuned it up instead of down. Make sure the pitch of the string is getting lower, not higher.

  • Oh! Alright, thanks a bunch bro!

  • Yeah its all good. I made that mistake at first too XD

  • i dont understand drop D at ALL! how the hell am i supposed to make such a low sounding string sound like a high sounding one? i know i sound like a dumbass but what the hell?

  • in standard tuning play the top and bottom string, they should sound like they have resonance, the same applies for drop d, keep going down till it has resonance with the d string, they dont actually sound the same, it does get confusing.

  • i no this makes no sense to make a low string sound like a high string by tuning it down

  • Refer to my comment to KillerratProductions for some help =D

  • a musical scale repeats it self, once you go up high enough it is still 1 octave higher but its at the bottom of the scale letter wise

  • It does make sense, you just gotta use your ear a different way. You're looking for pitch, not the bass or treble feel of it. Notice on a bass guitar, standard tuning is EADG, and a guitar is EADGBE, yet the bass sounds a lot lower, thats because they are lower in bass/treble, but the pitch is the same. Keep practicing and your ear will better pick up pitch. Also, you'll know two strings are the same pitch if they a ping the same special way when you pluck them at the same time.

  • its called an octave....

  • Sure, but I was explaining it in laymens terms, for the benefit of him, and me lol.

  • I don't understand Drop-D tuning,just a half-step down. You can make a video about it

your lesson it's great 5 stars!!

  • thx dud . short simple and 2 th point

  • Short, simple and good....great!

  • do i tune it looser or tighter

  • thank you!!!!!

  • Thanks man! you made it so simple = D

  • thanks

  • great vid, the most simplest way to do it, without any confusing bs.

  • wow congrats dude thats alot of views

  • unfuckingbelieveble

  • Okay... Well, what a load of imbeciles visit these sites. All sorts of tuning is useful, whether it be Drop D or not. Grow up, guys. Seriously. The beauty of music lies in its diversity. The tuning doesn't sound bad, its your own fault if you can't make it sound good.

  • is there a difference between drop d and standard d

  • yup

  • Necrophagist

  • i just use the 7th fret method

  • hey can you post how u can tune your guitar on drop B please?

  • drop to B thats a stupid thing. your string wont be hard enought and will sound quite

  • It's not stupid. Bands use it. It's easiest to do on a 7 string. Seeing as the top string is B. Or you could resting your guitar with 7 string guitar strings... And just not use the .9 string on your 6 string guitar. It's hard to explain. But it IS NOT stupid. Some bands, like slipknot, even play in Drop A in some songs.... There new song Psychosocial is played in drop A. Go listen to it.
  • slipknot are well the best, remember that song they did where they wore the masks. that was pure talent. fuckin hill billies

  • its not so much stupid as annoying for the people that want to play songs in drop d and in standard...and God help you if you want to play in drop B....

  • quiet
